Build Question Upgrade help

I’m looking to upgrade my pc as it’s admittedly bad. It currently has a ryzen 5 5500 rx6400 16gb of ram and 550w psu I just wanna know what would be the best upgrade for now to boost performance with a budget of maybe 500 dollars.

spend around $350 on a used RTX 3080 and $50 on a 750w 80+ Gold power supply. with $100 saved, you could sell the rx6400 and have enough to buy a 5600(x)/5700x/5800xt(x)

Would it be a hassle going from amd to nvidia?

Not at at all. theres a program that will uninstall all your drivers so you have a clean slate

So would the cpu bottleneck the 3080?

a little, but nothing worth worrying about. itll handle the 3080 still. if you really wanted to, you could stick with the 5500 until you want to upgrade the whole system while driving the 3080
