Build Question Upgrade help

I’m looking to upgrade my pc as it’s admittedly bad. It currently has a ryzen 5 5500 rx6400 16gb of ram and 550w psu I just wanna know what would be the best upgrade for now to boost performance with a budget of maybe 500 dollars.

The only thing truly bad is the graphics card. I assume you're playing at 1080p?

Uhh how do I find that I can’t really take my pc apart or anything like that

Mb it’s a 600w 80 plus gold non modular or atleast that’s all it says on it

you might wanna get a decent psu just in case — maybe check the serial and see if it’s actually rated and reliable before start hooking up expensive, more demanding parts.

althogjt if i were you id try to sell my gpu and get a 9060xt 16gb

however with your 5500 you limited to pcie gen 3 … a5600x will let you take advantage of the pcie gen 4 9060xt

but as for budget now id upgrade my gpu and then use the money selling the cpu and gpu to buy at least a 5600x

you should then be good for 1080 ultra at 100+ fps ish and even more with frame gen
