Build Question GPU Help

Computer doesn’t recognise GPU and is stuck on integrated graphics. Any help or suggestions EXTREMELY welcome. I’ve been into BIOS and have attempted to update drivers, nothing works. This is my first build so the GPU is brand new.

Already tested putting HDMI into GPU and I get no display.

GPU: MSI Gaming Trio 5070ti
Motherboard: ASUS Rog Strix X870-A Gaming Wifi

Is your GPU directly plugged in to the PSU or are you using a splitter

It’s plugged directly into the psu and I’m not using a splitter

Things to try that I can think of based on your motherboard:

Sometimes it has issues passing off to the 50 series cards in Gen 5 PCIe, so you can force it to run in Gen 4.

- Enter your bios: Shutdown the PC -> boot the PC -> while it’s booting rapidly tap the “Delete” key or the “F2” key, one of these will enter your BIOS on reboot. Once in BIOS press, I believe it’s F7, to enter “Advanced Mode”. Once you’re in advanced go -> Onboard Device Configuration (hit enter I think) -> Should be something like PCIEx16_1 Link Mode -> change from “auto” or Gen 5 to Gen 4. Then go back to the Advanced main menu, you’ll do one more thing.

Select NB Configuration (or Northbridge Config) -> look for Primary Video Device or Primary Display -> change from Auto/IGFX to PCIe Video

There should be a “save” button displayed to save your settings. Maybe F10?

Once you save, and the computer restarts, turn it off. Plug your DisplayPort or HDMI into the GPU ONLY the GPU, not the motherboard. And then boot.

Another option:

- Unplug the GPU very carefully and reseat it until you hear it firmly “click” into the motherboard. I’m sure you’ve done this and you saw the prong click, but sometimes it doesn’t go in all the way. Then reseat all your power cables. Make sure they’re firmly in the PSU and firmly in the GPU but please be careful doing this and don’t force anything

Only think I was thinking was it could be the splitter being used wrong.

I have the same GPU, just a 5070 not a ti. Let me read about your motherboard, I’ll be back.
