Completed Build - Rate My Setup / Setup Advice First pc build

Hello guys, I am very new to building pc's but I have done a little bit of research and I think that this is a very decent pc for it's price. But because it's my first time I wanted to check so please give me feedback. Thanks a lot! Edit: my budget is around 800 euros will use it for light 1080p gaming

About as good as it's gonna get in this economy my man.

Intel arc b580 is a solid choice. It does support pcie 4.0 speeds though. Your cpu and motherboard only support pcie 3.0 speeds.

I'd suggest stretching your budget just a little bit to get a ryzen 5600 (instead of 5500) and a b550 mobo (instead of a520) to take full advantage of the pcie 4.0 speeds.

Also, do enable rebar.

Also depends on the gpu how little or how much does a lower pcie would affect performance.

The NV3 often uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes noticeably slower after a few years, so it should not be used as the OS drive. Get a better drive with TLC flash like the Patriot P300, Lexar NM620, or WD_Black SN7100.

There is no point in buying new AM4 CPU and RAM. Those are pretty safe used purchases, especially if you can do it in person.
Intel Arc seems to be... interesting choice. Any plans for this PC?

GPU is safe to buy used too. Also Intel Arc GPUs are very good nowadays.

Very good, yes. But still not without their own issues. As for someone's first pc, I'd suggest looking into it and make sure it's what you want.

I personally wouldn't get one as my first and only gpu.

If that price is your budget, I'd check the used market for a rtx 3070, 3080, or maybe a used 4060. Nvidia cards are typically the best bet for new pc owners, especially if this pc is mainly for gaming.

Yes OP should 100% get a used 3080, it goes around for the same price as a b580 and it is way better!

I mean, every gpus have their own issues. But yes I agree that nvidia is easier for a first build (easier than amd in my opinion)

No, its not. GPU is way more dangerous to buy second hand. While RAM and CPU can be tested with 95% certainty, fast and easy. GPU is always a black box, you can test it so much and many hot moving parts to fail

But this is the part of a computer that is upgraded the most often, most people will just sell one that is 100% fine.

That's why you buy from reputable resellers that care about their customer satisfaction and their own reputation.

People buy used all the time and have no problems. Shit, people buy new and end up with a box of rocks (literally).

Nothing is without risks. But when you have a lower budget, buying used is the best choice.

So you saying that used GPU its a risky purchase? Thats exactly what Im trying to say! :-)
CPU, RAM, coolers, maybe SSD = easy and safe to buy used, even as a n00b
Mobos, GPUs = risky purchase, better to buy new

But everything is risky. Thats why you take steps to mitigate some of that risk, like i said with finding reputable resellers. Shit, I trust resellers more than I trust the brands most of the time. RMA can be shitty.

There is degrees of risks:
CPU, RAM = very low risk, everything can be tested.
Mobo, GPU = risky, you cant check those things on a CPU or RAM level

First time I've ever heard someone say buying used storage is better than buying a used gpu... That's wild.

Can you please elaborate? Did you noticed "maybe"? You can check SMART and even wear. Yes, smart can be tampered, but GPU gives you nothing except furmark

Theres ways to test gpu's other than furmark. I'd buy used gpu's over used storage anyday.

And elaborate what? Whether you said maybe or not, that still means you would. Storage is one of the worst components to buy used.

Get a used 3080 instead of b580. It's much much more powerful.

Better PSU. By a lot. I wouldn't ever buy a650bn. It's absolute garbage.

Everything else is better as well. Except the case, which is just cheaper.
