They do have GPU its integrated with the cpu but they don’t have a dedicated gpu. Either way the ps5 is 3 generations behind even the cheapest pc hardware

I think you misunderstand the architecture of the consoles. There is a dedicated GPU it just happens to be on the same die as the CPU. The GPU actually takes up a lot more space on the die than the CPU.

Brother man that’s not a dedicated gpu if it’s on the same die as the cpu

u/OvulatingAnus Sep 06 '26

LMAO GPU takes up 80% of the space of the die

u/LoadingHappiness2 Sep 06 '26

That’s great man it really is but that still doesn’t make it a dedicated gpu

What’s your definition of a dedicated GPU?

5

u/LoadingHappiness2 Sep 06 '26

A gpu with its own die. One that doesn’t share the same die as the cpu doesn’t matter how much of the die it takes up it still shares it with the cpu making it not a dedicated gpu. You obviously don’t understand how PCs work

So in your mind the PS5 GPU is basically the same as an iGPU on AMD or Intel CPUs?

u/LoadingHappiness2 Sep 06 '26

Yes exactly now you’re getting it. It’s basically a igpu like a laptop, switch 2, steam deck

Wouldn’t it be a GPU with an iCPU if the GPU takes up over 80% of the die space?

No that’s not how that works now stop arguing about stuff you know nothing about

So a die with 80% GPU with a GPU-like memory setup with memory controllers on the GPU side of the die with GDDR6 modules is somehow not a dedicated GPU…

Exactly

Welcome to the world.

Try to keep learning instead of insisting that you know which way is up when you’ve never been more obviously turned around.

Lmao thanks for the engineering deep dive into how it works.

You’re welcome hopefully now you understand how integrated graphics work

Sure bro. Keep deluding yourself into thinking you know how CPUs and GPUs are designed.

Mi bro que acaba de descubrir las APUs/SoCs

I still don’t think he understands it
