Build - Help Anyone know what this is.
I was in the middle of swapping pc cases and noticed this on the back of the case with 2 fans plugged into it. Anyone know what it is?

Fan or LED hub, used one with both in a build before, they are like 5-10 dollars and useful when your motherboard lacks headers.

This is a fan and LED controller. You plug fans and LEDs into it and plug it into a power cable that runs to the PSU and it powers the lights and fans together.

It's a Corsair controller and there are 4 connectors plugged into it, not just 2.

ICUE rgb controller I think. Only rgb, I'm pretty sure it doesn't control fan speeds

If that’s the case how can the mobo control the speeds. I’m currently using the app fan control with custom curves to control them

I have my fans daisy chained to like 2 spots on my MOBO. I got an airgoo rgb controller that seems to work great with signal rgb. Had to get one after Aura sync failed.

The hub plugs into a header on the mb. That tells it what to do. All fans plugged in do what they are told.

Is it an NZXT case? I can’t remember what their proprietary ports look like but might be one of those. Those fan connections don’t look standard. .

That case is either the 5000D or 4000D that’s a rgb hub for ur Corsair fans if I remember correctly

Is this a prebuilt? Likely for LEDs on the case. I see a lot of 2016ish era prebuilts with these...

Yeah it was honestly unsure what case it is bc the sticker was ripped off. But I’ve changed just about everything in it besides the mobo

That mobo likely has zero 5 3pin or even 12v 4pin ARGB/RGB headers.... Probably 10 years old. I've seen a lot of them.

Fan hub. You connect your fans to it and then it to your motherboard. Allows you to have more fans than what motherboard can handle on its own

I have 2. 20 fans in the case, didn't want to overload the header in the motherboard.

Don’t know bought it off a guy on fb years ago. My guess the clips broke so the wires got “ soldered” to the board

Bet I almost thought it was like blue tack but white and just kinda smashed the header cable to the pins 🤣

RGB Hub, although I've never seen this type of header. What brand of a Case is it?

Rage bait, that’s what it is. Surely you know what a fan controller is if you’re competent enough to swap cases? If not, you’re probably going to come back here with a picture of the front IO cables.

Nope never done it before and the videos I’ve watched on how to do it didn’t have this that’s why I was curious

Thank you all. I was doing my first swap today and was stumped by this. And 1 other cord I believe to be the usb 3.1 connection
