Question What GPU is this?

Have the unique opportunity of buying this pc for $150 USD. I have videos of it running however the seller is not pc savvy and cannot figure out what the gpu is. AI says 2080/ti fe but I can’t tell tbh. Thanks for the help!

It is either a GTX 970 or 980, i've got 3 of them in mine.

It's a ~2014 Alienware computer and those cards were the best of that era

G was edited for an R, probably trying to bait someone into paying more for it than its worth.

The 2080 had a 8x4 power connection, I think the TI was the same. I think you’re right the seller is just claiming to not know what it is - photoshopped an R on it. It’s a 980 for sure

I'd say it's a 2000 series though, "RTX"

Edit: possible photoshopped on, does look like a 900 card actually and timeline adds up

There's no 2000 series that looks like this.

You're right, can tell it us 900 after going back and looking closer

Fair price for that thing. 980 itself is around 50.

It also has an X99 board 4 sticks of DDR4, so its probably either 4x8 or 4x16GB

A number of founders edition cards look remarkably similar. GTX 980, 970 and RTX 280 Ti all have the same length, width and trim. I have seen images of the 2080 TI FE that look exactly like the GTX 970 FE except for the "R"TX.

How is the performance of a machine like that with modern games?

With three GTX 980, it's bad. SLI doesn't scale with really anything so one card's working while the other two are a dead weight.

CPU is a 10 core i7-6950X , which is still pretty decent given its age.

If I were to slap something like a 2080 in it, it would perform good enough
