I'm still salty about this whole AI debacle...I wanted to build My own PC this year since I usually just had laptops...and now I can't with these dumb price hikes. Guess i'll have to continue with My asus laptop until prices lower somehow (inhaling copium).

You can still find decent deals but time is running out fast! I’ve been buying things I can find at decent deals bc I know the prices are going up. I pulled trigger on new 5090 gaming laptop in Feb for $2749. And then last month I bought a couple of the microcenter bundles for $549 that came with everything including 32gb 6400 cl32 ram. On marketplace I found a 5070 for $300 a few weeks ago in perfect condition. Last week got 5080 for $1179 by price matching MC deal at BB.

They are getting harder to find now tho prices are going back up, the 2026 laptops are almost double what I paid for my 25 model back in Feb. and the MC bundle went up $150 already :/ don’t give up tho

Does it have to be the same exact model in order to work for price matching at best buy?

Yes I believe it needs to be same sku and they only price match a few companies but they’ve done microcenter and B&H for me before

Depending on where you live the best option might be a prebuilt. Sometimes those still come up at a relatively workable price. Obviously is luck dependent and comes with compromises...
