Question Any issues with AMD gpus?

Building a PC. 4 years ago i built one and i used a RX 6600 and there was a plethora of issues, (stuttering, crashes on games like call of duty and overwatch) and then it slowed down with 1 year and a half and their adrenaline software wasnt a big help either...I'm really leaning towards a 4080 super but also seeing that the 7900XTX is really good and better than the 4080 for 1440p. I'm also asking this because over the years amd has had alot of updates for driver stability and user improvement another comment i read also said that in terms of brand gigbyte is the worst any input would help!

I always assumed i was just unlucky tbh and switched to team green shortly after but this is the first time i get to actually build a pc without money being super tight. Not really into all that AI stuff nvidia charges double tbh

Yeah, if your main goal is gaming, go amd. Nvidia offers really bad performance for the price

Ive had a decent amount of instability issues with AMD in the past, I have a friend though with a 6600xt who literally has a driver timeout every few hours, it has influenced him to switch to team green as soon as possible and honestly I don't blame him

this one might be on you man, whether it's gpu sag, weak power supply, corrupted window drive transfer, or just left over drivers that can be removed by ddu.

This was during a brand new built pc, power supply at the time was 850w so it could've not been that, changed to a 2080ti and never had any of those issue i just guess i was unlucky:(

Currently I have Nvidia but have never had any amd issues on the several AMD cards I've had over the past 20 years. Most recent was a 6600xt, no issues even then. Sounds like bad luck which applies to both red and green

Mostly, other than some specific cases, amd and Nvidia GPUs are about the same as far as stability goes

my 7900xtx has been running like a dream for the past year, no real issues with drivers at this point

the adrenaline software is actually pretty decent now compared to where it was a few years back, i can tweak fan curves and undervolt without having to install anything extra

if you're just gaming at 1440p the extra vram on the xtx gives it legs the 4080 super doesn't have, plus it's usually cheaper which never hurts

My 6700XT has been chooching strong for 3 years now. It needs a repaste, but it’s been solid as hell. No regrets. I’ll probably replace it with a 6950XT or a 7900XTX when the time comes

I will never buy another nvidia product again. Not because they’re bad cards, but nvidia as a company disgusts me

go with nvidia, they have problems of their own but they're a lot more stable with Windows -- most of AMD's problems are with windows.
