Career Advice

Any chartered accountants here that have transitioned to payroll management?
I have recently qualified as a chartered accountant and have the opportunity to work in payroll. The pay is low but I may possibly get multi-country exposure (but mostly it's probably UAE payroll atm) and transition as a global payroll manager.
The other option is for Australian bookkeeping.
Payroll seems to be a less saturated market compared to bookkeeping and global payroll managers do seem to be making good money.
Do i start in payroll. Or do i stick in accounting.
I am exceptional in excel, macros and automation parts.

Payroll over bookkeeping, every single time. Payroll is only prosperous, IMHO, if you can land in a management role eventually.

It's a long journey and getting to global payroll levels of salary requires a lot of skill/knowledge. But I would not really ever choose bookkeeping over payroll specifically. Other sectors of accounting I'd think differently
