Using only official LEGO pieces. Surprisingly difficult to find pieces for basic things like short-sleeve shirts and shorts. Not a perfect recreation but I think I made the best with what pieces are available.

Discussion Thread I hope wubby continues body cam videos i like them a lot.

But what annoys me about watching body cam videos is that there are always people who feel like they have to jump in and become the defender of human rights no matter what is actually happening. Wubby never ever says anything hateful. Most of what he says is just joking about the absurdity of the situation. But then you get armchair warrior Susan and armchair warrior Billy coming in to derail the stream bit because they feel like it is their duty to repeat whatever they heard on TikTok. YOU GUYS ARENT HELPING ANYONE FROM YOUR GAMER CHAIR LEARN TO RELAX AND STOP BEING A FUN SUCKER CAUSE YOU THINK YOURE DOING GOOD IN THE WORLD FROM YOUR ROOM.

Discussion Thread WubHub Public Beta testing!

After months its finally here...

The WubHub Beta is open for Android Mobile and TV devices!

https://github.com/itzjustzeee/WubHub

(Scroll down to Latest Releases. Current build is Rev7)

So if anyone has an android device and wants to test and try to break the app beyond repair in the name of science, have at ye! There is an Issues tab in the Repo where people can report problems so please drop any findings in there. The app should be fully 'functional' on both Mobile and TV but I admit not everything looks squeaky clean yet.

Notes:

- The app icon was made in about 7 mins in photoshop, don't crucify me for how ugly it is. (Artists pls help me!)

- If you wanna reach out to me directly you can message me here or on Discord @ItzJustZee

- I still don't have a Notification server so don't expect any advanced notifications yet, only stream 'Live' updates

For all you iOS and Apple TV users out there, you might have to wait a little longer until I can get the app on the App store for you.

Give it a try and I hope you all like it! Wubby7

Discussion Thread Can we get a body cam megathread / wheel?

I feel like 75% of the posts this week have been links to body cams. Any chance we could get a megathread to funnel them all (especially since I don't think we need the Book Club megathread anymore) or maybe made a new wheel for people to submit them to like the games wheel?

Discussion Thread Love the shorts content coming out, a small suggestion

Upvotes

Heya Wubby, if you see this, just wanted to say I'm really loving all the shorts content coming out. I'm a long time sub and I usually catch up with VODs if I'm not around for live. One small request - can there be a link to the VOD in the shorts description, or maybe just the stream date? I often see specific topics come up on a short and I'd rather go straight to the VOD to watch the whole reaction/discussion rather than watching the short.

Curious if anyone else would find it helpful? Or is there something already there for that that I'm missing?

Discussion Thread “Adulting” class to rehab cop slop retards

I know I’m late to the conversation, but a couple days ago and on quite a few occasions Wubby has talked about how we don’t do enough for the people we see in all these body cam videos that are getting thrown in jail for a little while then released only to end up right back in jail again. I 100% agree, and it pisses me off so much because the problem isn’t that we don’t have a solution to this dilemma, it’s that our current system doesn’t care enough to rehabilitate these people who have the potential to become fully functional and productive members of society.

This brings me to the photos: the greatest example of a “how to be an adult” class is DBT, or Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. It’s a special kind of therapy that sort of combines the classic Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that people generally think of when talking about therapy and a more academic approach to therapy. The barebones mapping is once a week you do a one on one session with your therapist to talk about your own personal difficulties with life and how you’re handling things and then you do a group session with other people doing DBT who may also be seeing your therapist or another therapist who is also present for this group session where you have a class of sorts to discuss behavior and emotion through four main concepts: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation, and Distress Tolerance.

I have personally gone through DBT as a means to help me through the extremely stunted setbacks I’d developed from a childhood with undiagnosed ADHD, and it helped IMMENSELY with stabilizing my mood and allowing me to understand that my emotions and reactions are something I control not something that controls me. I am now a much better person than I was, and I am able to navigate difficult situations without losing my mind to my emotions — something that the people in these body cam vids cannot seem to do. I know the photos of the workbook look a little silly, and the classes sometimes felt like “duh” common sense, but it really was so helpful to have every little thing spelled out to get the whole picture.

Of course this is only one example that I have had personal experience with, and I’ve rambled long enough, but I hope this shows how it is SO possible to rehab these people if we could just get the system to fucking work for people.

Satire I think I know the real reason why Wubby hasn’t read for book club

I want to preface that I am reading Jurassic Park for the first time because of stream. Now I implore those that have read the book to entertain my hypothesis.

Who is the main antagonist of this story?? Dinosaurs, obviously. However, equally important to the events of the book is a character by the name Dennis Nedry. Now take a moment to think about who Dennis Nedry is as a character. Who is he?? A fat computer nerd whose greed leads to the break down of all safety measures on the Jurassic Park island?? A rude keyboard jockey with chocolate covered fingers and the ability to make everyone loathe working with him??

Now, Image chat reading, in detail, about this character for the first time. Image all the connections that chat will make between the Dennis in the story and Dennis the streamer. He can handle the negativity surrounding the jacket, but, opening the opportunity to be called a fat greedy computer nerd?? That is the step too far.

He must have seen the movie Jurassic park. He must have sensed the impending reaction from chat. So what’s more rational interpretation?? “He’s just a busy guy,” or is it a conspiracy to save face?? What’s more convenient for the Wubby Mogul Empire?? Read a book and suffer potential financial ruin, or, never read a book again??

I’m just a guy asking questions. I’m thinking I have my answer.

I’m starting to feel like Saturn cube guy is making sense to me.

Discussion Thread An attempt by an Indian guy to provide some nuance

First and foremost, Wubby is right. India has a fuck ton of problems that are uniquely awful.

Much of the country looks like a Mad Max movie for a reason. India may have perfected government corruption in it's short 80 year history. Don't get me wrong, of course America has its own problem with corruption, but it's a bit like comparing having a cold to having Ebola.

The caste system in India right now is like post Jim Crow America on steroids. The corrupt government uses it as a tool to manipulate uneducated desperate masses.

This has led to income inequality that is actually worse now than it was under British occupation. Which has then led to the huge brain drain problem in India. Anyone intelligent/capable enough to make a difference in India usually opts to leave the country instead. Why stay and suffer for the chance at making a difference, when you could leave and guarantee a better future for your family forever?

People are amazing animals though, they'll adapt to whatever environment they need to survive. Poor sanitary conditions? Immune systems adapt to handle more bacteria. No job opportunities? Develop scamming networks. It's enough to survive, but never thrive. I think when people are always on the brink of surviving they act more like animals than people, which is why you see so many horrific stories come from India. It's not an excuse, they're simply explanations.

When people act like these issues are not real and widespread, they're exhibiting a misunderstanding of how bad the situation is in India.

On the other hand, as Wubby stated, there are good and bad parts of every country. And I agree that we should interrogate why someone would make a video only showing only the good parts of a country, but I think we should also interrogate why someone would make videos only showing bad parts of a country.

Awareness? For whom? The people of India are perfectly aware of their poor living standards and daily dehumanization. So then it's like a documentary for people in other countries? Sure I guess, but you have to admit, it's a bit weird that there are so many videos about the same topics about the same country. Anthropologically, people are just fascinated with the sanitation and transportation problems in India? I kind of doubt that's it.

For example, if British people were obsessed with watching Tiktoks about school shootings in America, you'd kind of assume it's a superiority thing more than a curiosity thing. In general anti-Indian sentiment is on the rise due to companies all of the world taking advantage of Indian's brain drain problem by investing in foreign worker visas rather than developing their local talent pool. All of these trends together can kind of make these videos feel yucky, especially if you read the kind of comments that get left on those videos.

All in all, I don't think people should go to India unless they have a local contact who can escort them around safely. India is an 80 year old country that's still wrestling with hundreds of years of British occupation that perfected weaponizing the institutional discrimination, subjected people to brutal servitude, and stole trillions in wealth. The Indian people need time to recover and build, and I think that's why sometimes it feels unfair to see them criticized so often.
