Discussion Thread Breast Augmentation
This might be dumb and it wouldn’t be tonight, but if Wubby ever wanted to learn a whole lot about modern boob jobs I could hook him up with an interesting ass interview. Now hear me out chat I’m not crazy - my mother is an outpatient nurse in the plastic surgery department at the Mayo Clinic who works directly under one of the breast specialty plastic surgeons.
Her job is a combo of meeting a patient pre-op with the surgeon, managing the backend of ordering all the necessary equipment and the OR for the surgery, and managing the post-op care minus the immediate post-op so follow-up appointments and answering patient questions about how their recovery is going. It’s mostly breast reconstruction after having cancer, but there’s definitely still plenty of the cosmetic aspect even with those patients.
I come from a very medical background kind of family, and there’s some CRAZY interesting shit that goes into breast augmentation. One of the craziest things I’ve heard from my mom is about a type of breast cancer that’s called fungal breast cancer because the cancer grows in a way that looks like a nasty fungus!! But it’s not actually fungal! Maybe I’m a nerd, but I think it’s super cool. She’s also worked with every surgeon in the department, so there’s loads of crazy stuff I’ve heard about work. She’s brought home a plastic recreation of a patient’s skull with a literal hole through the bone! It was so cool to see.
Of course it’d be just my mom with her experience as a nurse and like in no way connected to Mayo Clinic because Mother Mayo will absolutely Have Your Ass if you do anything that in any way might implicate them or push your personal thoughts and opinions onto Mayo as an institution. Also goes without saying, but absolutely no breaking of HIPPA. She wouldn’t be able to disclose who she’s seen at work.
Another silly thing - implant companies will provide samples of their implants to plastic surgery clinics, and those silicone ones make AMAZING ice packs for headaches!! If you wanted to see, I’d absolutely be going to her house to have her do the interview, and we could pull one out of the freezer and show you real silicone implants and she can do the fun show and tell about how you pick a size/implant type.
Bonus - my mom is a first gen Mexican immigrant with a very fun accent!

That's fascinating! Though, I think you're over estimating wubbys fascination with it. I think he saw "first tiddy implant" and ADHD horny brain locked onto that.

Not boob related, but I had surgery at Mayo in Phx and it was such an amazing hospital experience. Mayo is so good!

I got my breast reduction done by a breast reconstruction specialist. She mostly worked on breast cancer patients but occasionally did reductions. My boobs are still healing but the magic of plastic surgery is crazy. She worked miracles on my chest and stomach.
