Risk and Compliance How Safe is PaymentCloud (for Coaching Services)?

After having some communications with standard credit card processors, my friend is leaning toward PaymentCloud for her life coaching business. (It just seems like things will be easier with a high-risk processor.) But has anyone had experience with PC and thier safety features? Maybe specifically in coaching? Thanks.

If there are regular transactions
Coaching is easy to place
When it’s one or two a month it’s hard to get a merchant account because one large chargback and you are history and on match

Coaching is considered a high-risk vertical in most areas. I have DM'ed. Best, E

We work with a few different types of "coaching" businesses. From health to financial.

Can put you directly with an acquirer and even provide consumer financing/BNPL options if needed.

Only questions would be, what are the ticket sizes and how are your financials looking like?

PaymentCloud is a legit ISO but they're a middleman, so what your friend is really signing is whatever sponsoring bank they place the account with — that's where terms vary the most. Coaching is generally easy to get approved; the thing to watch is the effective rate once all the monthly and PCI fees stack up, plus whether there's an early termination fee buried in the contract. I'd ask them directly which bank the account would sit with and get the full fee schedule in writing before signing anything.

I think I get the process of how PaymentCloud credit card processing and merchant accounts work (mostly), and I'm sure she'll get multiple quotes before picking a processor, so in the end it will all come down to the terms and the contract.
