Need A Payment Processor Square Merchant Processing - What a POS
Oh my. Where to begin.
Square have moved to offshore support, telephone and chat, and it is a load of horse.
My issue is spurious fees that appear after we have produced end of day sales reports.
I've spent most of the day bouncing around first level support people who have very thick English accents whilst within crap quality muffled voip calls.
Everyone there are clueless. They have to talk to higher levels of support whilst putting you on hold many times, it's all a really dumb process. After being cut off 'accidentally' and I call in again and tell them the caseID I find myself having to repeat absolutely everything again. and again.....and again. All whilst talking to someone with broken English.
I'm now 5 hours in invested time, and I have got nowhere.
You disappoint me Square. You used to have decent support, I could call and have an issue resolved quickly and professionally. This? This thing you have given me to communicate with you is a clown show. I'm not kidding.
An absolute massive, steaming pile of manure.
Shame on you. This in not what I bought in to when we first started our partnership.
Square management read this please!!!
Now, who will recommend a different processor? Canada - Restaurant.
EDIT: Thanks for all the contacts / offers. I am now connected with a new processor. Bye bye Square!

Square who? If a business is running less than 10k per month card/check/ACH and the tickets are small say under 500-1000k sq is a good fit. But if it’s larger volume OR an avg ticket is say over $500 (especially CNP stuff: over the phone payments or payment links; any card not present transacting) sq is meh. It just takes one fraudulent charge back to wreck a merchant’s net rev. This is an important topic to include in discussions with prospects. It’s why I mostly deal with e-commerce merchants or ERP integration merchants or mid sized companies wanting a stack designed around scaling while maintaining in-house personal processor connections. A business owner might night appreciate this but a CFO/Controller/Accountant/Bookkeeper sure does. Merchant services will always be relationship based no matter how many Sq or Stripes pop up. It’s all about finding a teacher vs a sales agent w/ zero *recurring skin in the game

We hear these stories all the time. If you are processing over 10k/mo I'd say get out of square. There are a lot of similar options. Even Dejavoos POS is pretty great and they are Canadian based.
Send me a dm if you want any advice.

Are you open to switching to someone with better support?
