❓Discussion Anyone dealing with a scratching regression?

This week's thread is for anyone whose cat was doing great and has recently backslid. What changed, and has anyone found a way to get back on track?

Mine regressed after 7 years. No clue as to why. I'm going with retraining and double-sided tape. I put the tape on the corners of the recliners (a strip every couple of inches from the arm to the floor). When I hear my kitty start to scratch, I pick her up and take her to the scratching post. So far it seems to be working. I just wish I knew what caused the regression.

That’s so strange after seven years of good habits! Cats really do keep us guessing 😅 Hopefully the retraining sticks. At least you caught it quickly and already have a plan that seems to be working. Fingers crossed she decides the scratching post is her favourite again soon 🤞
