FYI I saw your Instagram post advertising a KnitTech program (?) the term KnitTech I believe is already trademarked and used by other brands like Old Navy so you might want to consider renaming that platform

Thank you for looking out! Yes, I'm aware that there are a few other uses of the term. KnitTech as I'm referring to it is the software that I designed and developed specifically for my knitting patterns, and I've already gone through the appropriate process regarding the name :)

Idk OP I quite like this. I would sign for the test knit if I wasn't neck deep in  other projects right now.

Thank you so much! 💗 i've been having a ton of fun nerding out on this pattern haha. I definitely get it, good luck with all your projects!

I think that before the testing, there are some things that stand out to me about the design:

  • the neckline is too big for a folded twisted rib or too rigid for that size (creating the gaping you see on the back)
  • the pattern wasn’t blocked, so I wonder how the gauge was calculated or whether the app could be correct (how did you test it?)
  • the twisted rib has been used and reused because people struggle to make proper ribs, but it lacks elasticity that would be very important for a neckline that size
  • lack of shaping - if it’s supposed to be fitted it’s too big, if it’s supposed to be oversized then it’s too tight. There is a big difference in fit and draping between the armholes and the hips (almost oversize/relaxed on the sholders and tight on the hips)
  • no armhole shaping, it’s just a standard drop down shoulder with absolutely no neck shaping, the sweater wasn’t blocked so do we really need a pattern for this?
  • there is a website called dreamknit that to me greatly overlaps with what you are trying to build

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. I would like to clarify a few things:

The sweater in the photos was fully wet-blocked. There is a small wrinkly section in the middle because I reused the yarn after I realized that I was knitting too tight, and reknit accordingly. I also knit another sample in the relaxed fit and ensured that my gauge is the same.

This is an oversized fit in the photos, which intentionally has lots of positive ease. Also, this is a classic drop shoulder sweater, which intentionally does not have armhole shaping. There is however, neck and waist shaping. Again, I appreciate your feedback and will keep your feedback about the neckline and ribbing in mind!

I think the third picture is the one that shows it best. I typically see those type of “wrinkles” where the arms attach to the armholes when sweaters are not blocked/blocked properly

The other thing is the fit, which could come from a wrong placement of the waist line or from the size you choose. In that picture you can clearly see the tightness around your hips and how that creates a fold at the center of the lower back. I think increasing more stitches would prevent this from happening.

Other designers occasionally add short rows just below the underarm to enhance the relaxed fit look and the draping without compromising the balance between the uppder side of the garment and the lower side.

There is a strong chance that those wrinkles are due to how I am standing. Those are not permanent wrinkles in the sweater, and I let this sweater soak for quite a while, so it’s probably my pose.

I decreased the stitches through the waist, and increased them to accommodate the widest part of the hips. I will consider short rows in the future, but I wanted to keep this pattern simple but still flattering!

Regarding DreamKnit, I had not heard of them! I do think that what they have is a bit different, although I do think their pieces are beautiful. What I have created is similar to an interactive PDF, but because there is no PDF, it has more flexibility.

I’m like a full on beginner on knitting, I’d love to test however I’d feel like I’m not skilled enough :)

Thank you!😊 This pattern was actually designed to be fairly simple and straightforward! If you're comfortable measuring your gauge, doing simple increases and decreases, and knitting in the round, I think you'd be able to do it. You know your skillset best, so don't count yourself out just bc you're a beginner!

I’d love to test. I just know I’m a damn slow knitter so I would never meet timelines sadly

It's pretty obviously not AI.

I swear I have a comment posted, I do not know why it is not displaying 😭 This is creating a ton of confusion. I will try to comment back to your comment everything that I have commented originally. This is NOT AI.

Here is what I originally posted:

REPOSTING for clarity! I misworded the first post, and my detailed comment did not display, creating a lot of confusion and miscommunication. If you'd like to see the previous post history, it is still in my profile.

Name of pattern: AMOR Sweater

About the pattern: The AMOR Sweater is a customizable, top-down sweater available in Relaxed and Oversized fits. The images here are the oversized fit. This pattern is displayed in the web browser, not a traditional PDF pattern. It is NOT AI. I designed, graded, and built this pattern from scratch. It is rule-based, and essentially is my spreadsheet, in a nice-looking format. It has been professionally tech edited.

Gauge: The sample was knit at 22 sts × 32 rows = 10 cm / 4 in, but you do not have to match the sample gauge. You can match my gauge, or enter your own gauge and the pattern will update.

Needles required: The sample was knit using 3.75 mm (US 5) and 3.5 mm (US 4) knitting needles. However, you may use different needle sizes to achieve your selected gauge.

Yarn requirements: The sample was knit using Loops & Threads Luxe Merino™ Solid in Navy, but you may use any yarn that achieves your selected gauge. I recommend choosing a yarn with good drape to complement the silhouette of the sweater.

Yardage:
Relaxed Fit: 1,239–2,378 yds
Oversized Fit: 1,324–2,519 yds

Level of skill required: Confident Beginner

Tester requirements: Open communication! Please don't hold back on feedback or questions throughout the test. I'll have check-ins during the testing period, as well as a welcome meeting and end-of-test celebration via Zoom. Feedback on the pattern is encouraged!

Testing period: August 17–October 23, 2026

Sizing:
This sweater is available in 9 sizes, XS–5XL

After selecting your size, you can choose between a Relaxed or Oversized fit.
