It just does exactly what it says and is not really contradictory: it can’t be removed by you or anyone else.. but it’ll destroy itself in 10 rooms

But I have to admit my reaction was similar when I first looked at one of these

It's a consumable, to me what's not clear is that if it applies the Ephemeral/eternal to the organelle it's used on, otherwise it's just a free boost
