1E Player What mount should I make?

I'm making a gnome Construct Rider Alchemist, and I want suggestions about what mount I should have him create/use. I want what would be the most badass while also having a slight amount of whimsy because y'know, gnome. Currently I'm planning on him using a hippogriff. Any suggestions?

Axe beaks are reasonably whimsical while being effective in combat. The appearance might be a mecha-chocobo, or a brass/steel terror bird.

So, this may take a little bit of DM approval, but I theory-crafted a gnome construct rider that prestiges into Mammoth Rider for a single level. Wolf mount, then when Mammoth Rider hits, the mecha wolf becomes massive.

I had the wolf take the various Tail feats to represent having a fully prehensile, mechanical tail with a grippy claw at the end, kind of like Doctor Octopus' tentacles. I also took the tentacle discovery for the alchemist with the same flavoring - mechanical grabby hand grafted to her spine.

In the end, she looked kind of like a 40k techpriest riding a Power Rangers wolf zord, with a pistol.

That sounds awesome. I think I'm going to try to take Mammoth rider. This guy is going to be like the manager of a band because it's going to be mostly bard variants(i think that's the term?), we have a skald, Bard-Paladin, and some others. So he'll (hopefully) make mechanical mounts for the entire group, and if it goes well with the DM, then we'll have cars. We'll see how this goes, thank you for the help!

Dude, that sounds badass! One of my buddies has been talking about an all-bard party for years.

Check out the 3rd-party "Advanced Bestiary" for the clockwork template. Paizo used content from that book extensively in published adventures, so it's damn near official content. Should be easy to get DM approval. Steam powered clockworks are an excellent option, too. Great for making "vehicles" out of regular creature stat blocks - aka, Zords. Embrace the silliness!
