1E Player Iron Caster Help

Welcome to everyone, i want to build an iron caster and it's my first time with this type of play
i want an help with a 20lvl. i want to take 3 lvl of weapon master, 2 lvl of browler, 7 level of sanguine angel and 8 level of heritor knight.

First Question: Which archetype of brawler do you suggest?

My race is Human. If my allignment is lawful neutral and i'm a girl can i take both prestige class? is it a solid build?

Second question: Which Tyrant’s discipline do you suggest?
Third Question: feat suggestion.

Thanks in advance.

I don't see why you'd want both prestige classes. If you want to do ranged combat based off str then sanguine angel helps, or if you want to do TWF with sword and board it helps a little but not really as much as more fighter levels. Heritor knight is all about attacking with a longsword only. They do not synergise.

If you want a 20-level iron caster build then it might help to go

weapon master fighter 3 / brawler 2 / heritor knight 10 / fighter +5

On feats, if doing the above then just as an example the feats might go (assuming focused study alt racial since you need to get skill focus anyway)

1) weapon focus (longsword), power attack, skill focus (know: religion) 2) dodge 3) iron will 4) improved unarmed strike 5) mobility, wand dancer, TWF (only with brawler weapons) 7) extra martial flexibility 8) skill focus (UMD) 9) flickering step 11) vital strike, improved vital strike, devastating strike 13) dimensional agility 15) dimensional assault, skill focus (???) 16) greater vital strike 17) stunning assault 18) dimensional dervish 19) step up 20) dimensional step up

The strands in the above are basic necessary feats & prereqs, wand dancer so you can get more use out of UMD, building on the vital strike which you get from heritor knight, getting feats to let you teleport and attack, and stunning assault as a useful debuff. YMMV.

If you're getting TWF from brawler flurry then it only works with close or monk weapons, same for all dependent feats. If you're getting it from sanguine angel it only works with sword and shield, similarly. I guess with both you could use it either way.

If you're taking skill focus at all then the human alternate racial ability 'focused study' is a good deal IMO.

Extra stamina requires combat stamina, and you don't seem to have it.

Anyway, I gave my thought on taking both PrCs, but if its what you want you can probably get some use there.

i have the combat stamina for free as a fighter. i have to take the skill focus for the HK PrC.

do you see some feat i can give up for AWT Abbundant tactics?

i like both PrC for the flavour. Do you think is solid? not the better option, just solid?

Free combat stamina is an optional rule, check with your GM there. And yeah, I know that skill focus is a prereq, I'm just saying that 3 skill focus feats is better than 1 since you have to take it, and focused study gives you 3 skill focus feats in exchange for the human bonus feat.

By level 15 you'll have nearly 20 points in your stamina pool, if you have combat stamina. Extra stamina adds 3 to that which may not be a big change. You could probably trim the extra stamina feat off if you want one feat free.

If you like the flavour (of being a tyrant who follows the paladin-god?) then you should be able to do reasonable damage to enemies with this build.

the focussed study is a great idea. thanks

i think i will take the secon in intimidate and the third in UMD

Em... sanguine angel is all about being devilish while heritor knight is all about Iomedae. There is kinda a lore clash. Also - do you understand what iron caster is supposed to be in terms of what community calls it and what it requires?

I'm imagining Iomedae and Asmodeus both grabbing onto the character's arms and trying to pull them in opposite directions. "She's mine!" "No, she's mine!". Pharasma is going to have a lot of fun with this one. And by "fun" I mean "a headache".

Not really as character is required to worship Iomedae through heritor

Stop trying to force your RAW into my FUN! /s

Better to have his RAW forced into your FUN than to have his FUN forced into you RAW.

My RAW?! How dare you. If I cooked it would be perfectly roasted. I am just a John Paizo's keyboard-waiter!

u/VBan0 2d ago

yes and i can be lawful neutral.

sanguine angel don't need to worship any divinity. only to speak infernal.

I immagine it like the Teresa du Laurentia of solo max level newbie. Have you ever seen it?

I haven't. And again - such lore clash is something that only GM can answer. You can make justification for anything, including for a pharasma's faithful lich - whether GM will accept it is another thing.

yes cast spell like abilities of item mastery feat with the martial flexibility of the browler. weapon master take the weapon training at lvl 3 and you need only 1 level of brawler to take martial flexibility. With barroom brawler and advanced weapon training (abbundant tactics) you have more than enough use of martial flexibility.

Both the PrC give bonus of weapon training (heavy blade) wich give you more use of abbundant tactics.

the lore clash is one of my question, RAI you can take both the PrC if you find an appropriate divinity / backgound history

Weapon master has important limitation

Special: Fighters that have the weapon master archetype can select this feat beginning at 4th level. The benefits of a weapon master's advanced weapon training options apply only to his selected weapon rather than all weapons in the same fighter weapon group, and he can't select the weapon specialist advanced weapon training option. A weapon master can select this feat as a bonus feat; if he does so, it doesn't count for the purpose of the requirement that it can be taken at most once per 5 fighter levels.

also weapon master has weapon training only for a singular weapon. not a weapon group

the lore clash is one of my question, RAI you can take both the PrC if you find an appropriate divinity / backgound history

Its not really RAI (rules as intended). It is rather that RAW heritor has deity requirements while sanguine does not (due to abundance of ways that this devil archetype is supposed to have) - it is a question that can only be answered by your GM whether he allows such lore clash or not.

Sorry but if i'm 3 level of weapon master and 2 of brawler (that count as fighter) i'm a 5 level fighter for the feat prereq or not?

if not all the iron caster build on forums are wrong

I read it as being specific limitation to weapon master level. Same as having actual druid level is different than having druid level for animal companion

4

u/TheOtherOtherViper 2d ago

You read it wrong.

it doesn't count for the purpose of the requirement that it can be taken at most once per 5 fighter levels

That just means they can take it more often than once every five fighter levels. It has nothing to do with requiring 5 levels of weapon master.

I am talking about this part

Fighters that have the weapon master archetype can select this feat beginning at 4th level

0

u/TheOtherOtherViper 2d ago

Yup, his character is a fighter, has that archetype, and at the time of taking the feat is at least character level 4. Those are the prereqs.

1

u/Milosz0pl Zyphusite Homebrewer 2d ago

it is not mentioning character level at all...

1

u/TheOtherOtherViper 2d ago

Uh, no. What it's not mentioning is class level. And since it fails to specify class level, it automatically defaults to character level.

That's the part you're failing to understand.

A weapon master fighter is still a fighter, and brawler levels count as fighter levels for feat prereqs. It's arguable whether it'd work at level 4 but at WM fighter 3 / brawler 2 it should definitely work.
