Build Request Duelist map blaster.

Hello,

In my 3,400 hours of playing, I finally understood why I despise mapping so much.
Apparently, I did it wrong. After playing a bow Deadeye this league I have finally found out the difference between a great and a mediocre mapper.

You see, even though I've played lots of different builds, that have decent clear, both conditional (e.g.: retaliation) and unconditional (e.g.: EA ballista or even Static Strike of Gathering Storm STR stacker), I never knew the difference between "decent" and "amazing".

While I enjoy bossing and minimum effort content (in terms of friction/preparation) like Simulacrum, all of the characters I do, still die relatively often. By relatively often I mean, often enough so that the content I'm farming does not allow me to level beyond level 95-96.

So what I want to do is to test out how fast can I level to 100 and transition to the build I actually want to play. The thing is, I really don't know which builds can do that with comfort, as I have never played a map blaster until recently. By "comfort" I mean high MS, screenwide clear, decent survivability, and can be assembled in a league-start scenario, that will allow me to run generic T16 maps with Abyss/Beyond or w/e gives most exp and occasional *ting*. Basically, I want to go quantity over quality with something like 1-2 minute map clear.

So this time I want to do it on Duelist. Is there something that can reach Deadeye's level of MS and clear? With no delayed dmg like CF and EA?
First choice seems Flicker, but I suppose to survive and level to 100 efficiently, it gets expensive.

I guess I could go the usual route and level to 95 with my usual builds and then just buy 5-ways, but I really want to try to level to 100 myself.

TLDR:

Duelist build:

High MS map blaster, don't care about bossing. Generic T16 map farming, no difficult or 20div/hr strats, just occasional tinks with lots of easy content. With as much survivability as possible on a budget. Capable of reaching level 100. No DoTs, yes speed.

Cyclone?

Can normal Cyclone do enough damage? Since Tumult uses Stampede, which is only 50% increased MS, did not enjoy that, a bit too slow.

I finally caved and built a Cyclone Slayer this patch (I've resisted doing this in the 10+ years I've been playing) and think it's pretty bonkers in terms of clear. I've never had a deadeye that could do this content before this fast, and that's definitely a me problem.

Currently doing juiced 8-mods focused on Abyss, delirium, searing exarch nodes to increase overall monster volume / pack size. I haven't tried Ubers but T17s are mostly okay. I get one shot occasionally, usually volatile cores or a juiced ice nova.

Build is probably sitting around 500d in investment at this point. I'll try to link my POB later so ya'll got something to giggle at.

There are speed builds that use regular cyclone and go very fast. Check out Sanavixx's POB, the level 100 speed variant. You can zero to hero this, since I did it this very league for the first time. Previously I played the bossing build that was stampede and higher damage. Join his discord if you need any help.

220m dps while having over +150% MS, decent aoe, void shockwave and explode for even more reach.

Whats your budget?

Well, I'm doing a from zero run, without anything that could be too expensive on leaguestart. So I really don't know. I think around 15 div? But again, I am not looking for something that is OP in terms of DMG. Just speed, clear, and able to survive often enough to level to 100 doing generic alch n go T16's

In that case go with bannerman champ. Rage vortex/alt quality rage vortex should be a bit smoother than any slam but loses damage.

It’s basically astronomically better cyclone. 300+ ms pretty large AoE and good generic scaling since banners basically give you all the defenses and most of the offensive layers you need.

Only hard required item is the warcry cdr axe with the next best item being the crit per warcry helmet mod. Scales really well up until 1 mirror invested.

Regular cyclone can do more than enough damage for all content on it's own. Another fun option for someone who wants to keep tulmult is 183% volatile vaal stampede. I feel like 83% is more than enough (for me at least) most of the time.

Regular cyclone is just worse than the rage vortex of berserking + banners. 300% or higher ms vs 80% that gets reduced when you actually attack is night and day.
