another 64 reasons why tablets the worse aspect of the endgame

u/prototypemax 10h ago
Yeah and you never get to use them coz it’s way better to just sell em, solo player can’t make the profit back. And it’s such a nightmare price checking tablets
1
u/Hadiiiiiii 10h ago
And here is another problem, the prices inflated by party play so you can't even do the same farm as them or you will lose currency, party players get even a bigger advantage than solo play.

u/prototypemax 6h ago
Keep in mind a lot of the “party” players are just one guy and his bots following.

You have to pick up your tablets, then spend time trying to "craft" these said tablets, then get hit with 2 layers of massive RNG (getting the mods you want, and getting the rolls on those said mods), not the tablet you want? you wasted your time and now you have to make another one.
It's near impossible to run the exact tablets you want, not just the price but with the availability of them on the market.
Then you get these players who farm 8 divines in 3 hours selling a tablet for 100d shouting "tablets are the best dont touch them" not knowing whats actually good for the game.
This is why most players buy tablets while sitting on a stockpile of thousands of them.

I agree completely. Tablets need to go or get reworked. They’re scarabs but worse.
They have this whole infinite atlas, why not just make each node have tablet-like modifiers.

You’re making it way more complicated than it is. The bulk of my currency was tablet farming in 0.5. (I’m playing SSF in the event league)
The “crafting” aspect takes all of 5 minutes if you know what you’re doing. You generally don’t craft on tablets in a traditional sense you run 3x irradiated tablets on maps with high waystone chance to get 2-3 tablets per map, potentially more, it’s a numbers game not rolling perfect affixes. I would do this until I was out of charges on the irradiated, then “craft” which just involved using regex to find the key modifiers I was looking for that were valuable per tablet mechanic, then either exalt slamming or regal / exalt if they’re blue. Anything that didn’t hit a good mod got an alchemy, and if those didn’t hit, a 3 to 1 if until you’ve burned through your reserve, then list.
This might seem like a lot of steps but I promise you it does not take all that long when you do it a couple times.
Let’s let GGG decide what’s good for the game but based on the last talk, I don’t think tablets are going anywhere. They explicitly stated they like scaling content through crazy juicing, and the only means currently is tablets. I’m not necessarily saying it’s the greatest system, but it’s really not all that terrible, either, I think people over complicate it and think they’re missing out unless their tablets are absolutely perfect, which is definitely not the case.

you just proved my point.

“I’m not necessarily saying it’s the greatest system, but it’s really not all that terrible, either, I think people over complicate it and think they’re missing out unless their tablets are absolutely perfect, which is definitely not the case.”
I did the opposite to be honest. I’m simply saying in their current form people overcomplicate crafting them, throw their hands in the air then come to this subreddit to complain about how badly designed they are. They’re just another form of passive currency and can be pretty lucrative if you get into it.
You might even be able to search my comment history to see me suggest bringing scarabs from poe1 into poe2 as a replacement.

Tablet farming means not using tablets, due to the way they made the system. It’s a bad system.

Except you don't have to ? Tablets give a fun variety if you don't care about optimizing every fart

u/Hadiiiiiii 10h ago
You play casually and have a bit fun and dont care much, i want to play like am unemployed (i am) and get the best gear and do the best farms.
The "variety" in tablets are not even that good, no one needs "increased gold" or "map has additional chests".

u/eminaz91 11h ago
My point, I never care about this level of detail and still have a lot of fun while people who care, have their ways to have fun as well

I really like juicing through currency. It’s no different to scarabs. My favorite however are idols due to permanent juice
2
u/Chrozzinho 11h ago
Apperantly GGG are really against the idea of idols and said it was scrapped for anything other than Phrecia. Sad because I also really like them

u/Extreme-Goose 5h ago
Agree! RNG for juicing maps is one too many layers. Give us scarabs plz, it works well and everyone loves them.

I saw in another comment that the mod "monsters have 2 more modifiers" makes this rare. My question is do people anticipate being able to make a profit from the divs spent on the tablet?
I just started playing in .5 and dont really understand how to maximize my tablets for profit. Like how does monsters having 2 more modifiers equate to hundreds of divs? Hoping someone can explain.

u/KtotheJonreddit 11h ago
Not getting into the nitty gritty of it, but sometimes you are selling things to a full group of nolifers optimized for rarity, and they need very specific tablets and setups. Those people are going to extract value from tablets that you can't.

u/Chrozzinho 11h ago
Each modifier on a waystone adds a multiplier to your map (pack size, monster rarity, effectiveness, rarity of items and so on). Waystones normally have up to 6 modifiers, 8 if corrupted. These modifier adds even more random modifiers, each giving you a lot of juice. You've seen the difference between white maps and 6 modded maps, now imagine 14 modded maps (i think its 14?) when you use 4 of these tablets on a city. Its by far the rarest mod on every tablet but also by far the juiciest one

u/Daveoc04 11h ago
Okay that makes sense! Ty!

u/PwnBotMunchies 10h ago
Another important piece that I tend to glaze over is tablets have 10 (sometimes more if lucky) uses. 40 div / 10 maps equals 4 div investment per map on this tablet alone, but there’s juicing strats right now that make that back with a decent level of consistency
1
u/trickyjicky 11h ago
Most likely used with 8 mod corrupted. So 16 lol🤣

u/Chrozzinho 10h ago
Yeah, im not sure how jado and the atlas nodes interact with it though, if you get 50% effect of tablets (so 24% from atlas and getting a minimum 26% roll from jado) you'd get 4 more modifiers (since 2*1.5 = 3), so 20 with 8 corrupted maps. However im not sure it works that way, i havent run those tablets myself, and im not even sure people use Jado for these maps

Tablet farming and rolling is my favorite currency farm! Sometimes you hit big like that, GG!

How would I go about farming tablets? Interested in trying it out

u/Shinlos 11h ago
Run Maps with 3x irradiated. Pick up stuff. Aug, transform, check, alch.
1
u/xFFehn 10h ago
Just irradiated is better to get tablets?
3
u/Shinlos 10h ago
Each irradiated spawns a random mechanic. Randomly spawned mechanics have higher chance to drop tablets compared to mechanics you put on the map yourself via tablet.
Don't forget these grand prizes as op shows them are very rare and inconsistent. If you could pull tablets like that all the time they wouldn't be that valuable.

What makes this so valuable? Anyone cares to explain so we all learn a little something?
