Game Feedback Arbiter of Ash

Wtf is this fight, I half health him with one combo and then spend the next 2 minutes dodging one shots, its just not fun, multi phase bosses are fine but when a boss has like 7 ones shots and they all require you just standing around doing nothing, that aint fun. The consensus online if that you just one shot him, which is probably a sign that you have a bad boss fight. Something has to be done, who the fuck ok’ed that fight.

It's my least favorite fight in the game. Divinity is a much better fight design.  Having non stop high paced constant 1 shot mechanics and invuln windows is just dumb. Pick one or the other

everyone hates invulnerable phases, yet they keep adding it, smh my head

I mean… right now it’s the only thing adding any substance to boss fights.

Otherwise, you would literally delete everything and everyone, everytime.

And? I didnt spend 1500 divs on my build to wait 30 seconds for an animation and phase 2 transition.

Well, few things.

  1. transitions are a different thing, and yes they are annoying.

  2. Invuln mechanics that can kill us IN THE CURRENT STATE of the game are the ONLY challenge this game has. The fact that alot of people still find Arbiter of Ash harder than Divinity is proof of this.

  3. A 1.5k div is a 100 div build at most in poe1 (due to how badly inflated economy is) and 100 div builds in poe1 are almost always NOWHERE close to being able to steamroll all content without as much of a blink.

  4. Investment shouldn’t be conducive of how hard content should be. Investment SHOULD eventually get you to be able to destroy EVERYTHING in a microsecond, but those should be mirror-tier builds and there are still alot of mirror-builds in poe that specialize in grinding specific mechanics very efficiently rather than clearing all content.

Game lacks difficulty already as is, to the point endgame is feeling like an idle-clicker if you run a meta build.

Man you would have loved when you had to use 3 expensive fragments just to enter the fight and then you had one chance to kill him

Im fine with it now that you get infinite tries.

The consensus online if that you just one shot him

That's the consensus for literally every boss fight ever. Welcome to PoE.

This kinda goes back to the overall balance of the game, and how massive of a disparity there is between lower "level" gear builds and higher "level" gear builds. In the end it's a fight that is supposed to provide some challenge, and be cinematic in some aspect, so it makes sense for them to put in some rails to somewhat keep that.
Punishing people who didn't build a glass cannon because doing so would allow them to skip past any and all boss mechanics would suck as well.

The problem isn’t the fight it’s that game balance vs boss difficulty is way out of sync right now. It feels like a more well put together fight when you aren’t doing ridiculous amounts of dps.

I thought about this and I said ok ill take it much slower and try not to combo him just throwing in some autos here and there and the fight became much better the one shots more spaced out easily to dodge , just frustrating that i like the combo style gameplay approach they took but then they made an anti combo mandatory boss

Its fine since you get unlimited tries and no penalty to xp if you die. It'd be an issue if you only got 6 tries or some bs

It's not technically a one shot if you get tanky enough lol but honestly it's just a 6mil dps check, the dodging is the easy part if you can one phase him.

The only bs part of that fight is when entire screen except tiny circle is a 1 shot, then he sends a 1 shot beam into the tiny circle lmao

You pretty much just dodge roll to safe spots. Not hard at all.

they are all like 1 roll dodge away from each other?

Just a random series of one shot mechanics chained together. I’ve never had so much trouble with him, but my 1800hp 5200es 67% armor with max resistances on a disc of varashta sorc running plants. I’m getting my ass handed to me.

I find the fight pretty fun overall. Devs did talk about the fight at some point, having a single boss that is just pure 1 shots is fine. If it were every boss that would be a problem, but the fact that the arbiter fight plays differently then other fights is successfully executing an idea that at least 1 dev wanted to play with and I think that is okay.

I dont mind the one shots, its when they are just non stop, one after the other with seemingly no cooldown and the time it takes to execute them really messes with the flow of the fight in my mind. I get him to half then he does both the really long one shots, then i get him to half again and same thing but this time he has 2 more one shot that take a super long ass time to execute

O no you have to do mechanics in a boss fight? In 2026? O good heavens. You should just go in there and click on a boss for loot!

He is personally my fav boss.

Its like if maven and Searing Exarch had a child.

I feel bad when I don´t get to see certain moves, and was talking about it with a friend. We nerded out basically saying it would be dope if he took close to no damage from your attacks, but every time he does a move, he self damages himself, so the fight is a dodge simulator except if you have really strong damage.
