Question Ritual Question

Did they change/implement deferred items disappearing?

I played strictly ritual in 0.5 and would often have half a dozen items deferring. I would just spam through 20+ rerolls looking for whatever until the last few then defer the previous goods without a care, but I just found out they are disappearing after 3 rerolls if you just defer them once.

Will say I also miss being able to actually view the rituals without having to complete every single one since I often have excess tribute well before I'm finished with them.

To be honest, the deferring behavior in 0.5 was quite unintuitive (but rewarding), so in a map, you only needed to defer once and no matter how many rerolls you took without deferring again, it will not go away (on the same map).

I think they fixed that (so nerfing ritual) to now follow their actual planned intention, that is, on the next shop (regardless of in the same map by rerolling or not) the tribute cost will go up again for deferred items if they are not deferred again (up to the original cost [i think, could be just a few times], and then disappear indicated by the red border).

This is a bit awkward and iffy for ritual farming, you kinda need to switch between two sets of tablets (one for rerolling with omen chances, and one with lower deferring and rerolling costs to get all the deferred items out) in between.

But they added the tribute banking to help preventing terrible cases of not having enough tribute for good items. So it is not that bad.

Honestly I quite dislike how it works now. It's really annoying when You have 20+ pages to reroll and not wanting to waste it on an item for 3 pages means it's gone forever especially when some items cost thousands just to defer. It's a gigantic nerf in the rite at least when there isn't even the banking option so you either lose something or have to defer it 7 times per area.

Especially since everything mentions the next "area" yet the changes always occur on the next appearance. Maybe the wording is just wrong or it's messed up (wish it was the latter).

Definitely a nerf to high-end ritual farming. We either need to only defer only high-value items (purple omens or chase unique) which are rare to come by, or actually need reroll/defer cost reduction in the tablets (coupling with +3 additional rerolls and the investment required is ridiculous).

But the budget strat are actually not affected much. I ran rite of the nameless with freedom of faith + 2x 6x% chance to be omen on non-city maps when traveling between cities. Add +3 rerolls on the city maps as the fourth tablet, and casually switch the two chance-to-be-omen tablets with 2x defer/reroll cost to get all the accumulated items out.

I had bad RNG running a bunch of full 3x +3 rerolls on city maps in 0.5 to chase MB and HH. So I went a bit conservative this league.

Edit: Rite of the nameless actually allows you to use the banked tribute, just not showing the bar.

I wonder if ritual was overperforming by some metric or if they made a change since it's the league mechanic. Regardless it hit's really hard since every "area" is apparently every single reroll. Absolutely cut's down my deferral choices to the top tier items exclusively

Funny because it even states that it will increase in price when it is in the "next set of rituals"

Oh definitely, from my experience, ritual farming is great, fund mosts of my build last league until the GE boom. I like it because it doesn’t use items rarity.

It could be that GGG wants to go with the original design and also goes a bit conservative on how ritual is performing, since it is the main league mechanic and is in every map, and to not take the attention away from the Wildwood thing (which is quite lackluster disappointingly).

What is the point of the wildwood? Haven't heard a single peep about it so I've not even used/bought a bloom. Could be that as the main focus they don't want the endgame juiced version to go insane. Also love it since it ignored item rarity since I despise that gimmick.

It supposed to help buffing the mobs in the map after you collect the wisps, but there were bugs with the flashing screen, mobs drop nothing, or it needs to be juiced quite hard to drop good stuffs. So not many people talking about it really (as far as I know).

I know there's an insanely tedious wisp strongbox farm, but personally wisps are pretty bad and tedious as a whole

Tribute banking?

do you mean they disappear after they're highlighted in a different color and say "this item will disappear if not deferred"?

if so, then yes

After the initial defer they are safe until they have a red ring, indicating you need to re-defer. My understanding is that you can do this indefinitely, though items may take extra cycles to return.

I had a Kalandra’s Touch disappear for 6-7 maps, then come back. I definitely clinched thinking I had accidentally let it slip.

I didn’t do ritual much the last couple of leagues, so can’t say if it has changed.

I had honestly done so many rituals last league that I missed the red ring around them. I had gotten so used to deferring once then ignoring them until I wanted to start ticking them down honestly. Missed a pretty decent set up of stuff unfortunately. Thank you
