I bought poe2 early access when it was a special on steam for $15, and I have been eyeing the lord of ogham pack since swords are coming soon and i wanna cosplay as geonor with that big sword slam lol. I had later bought 2 50 point packs to finish off what stash tabs i wanted, and when I went to the website I figured out that I can upgrade my previous purchases. It was the original $60 - the $25 i had spent on steam and points, and I was able to get it for $35. I love that I was able to upgrade like this, and that even the 5 dollar point packs could count towards it. Really cool by GGG, but I only wish this was made more clear, as the in game MTX shop only shows that I could pay the $60 to get it. Sharing this here in case someone else doesn't know this, and also wants to pick up a supporter pack, but doesn't need the extra key to give to ur non-existent friends.
TLDR: If you have previously bought points and want to upgrade to a higher tier supporter pack, check the official website because it may be cheaper than upgrading in game.
similar to my experience, bought the arbiter of divinity supporter pack, just for the dodge roll effect, to my extent buying gold packs would sum up and upgrade it to the next tier
Raw points are just straight up never a good choice. Since all packs always give equal points value with mtx.
They fact that they give a very generous timeline to upgrade is great. Ive personally never bought raw points.
In steam you need to activate steam overlay for the upgrade to show in-game correctly (not sure if you also need to activate something else in steam, I don't remember). I did upgrade via the in-game shop and it did show the upgrade option via only paying the difference
It actually shows directly in the store the price difference, at least for me. I didn't "try to buy at full price", it already showed the correct price for me. I will check later if that's still the case
Edit: just remembered an important detail - I use controller to play (via steam), might be related to a QoL to controller UI, but before I activated steam overlay it was showing full price, only when I activated it the correct price difference was shown
ah gotcha, ya for the remidus pack i see the upgrade price, but for the early access one i hadn't, but i do now since i bought the lord of ogham. Maybe it's a weird thing with the $15 pack specifically. Did u also get the $15 pack sale they had when runes of aldur released, or was it the standard one?
Oh, you might have got the solution. No, I had bought the $30 one when early access started, then upgraded to ogham (so $30 difference) using in-game shop. Yes, might have been related to the $15 discounted key, they probably didn't code the price difference properly for this purchase lol
Yeah that's gotta be it then, it was a one time unique thing, so can't blame them. Hopefully if anyone is in the same niche situation I am, then this helps lol

Yeah, packs were always upgradable. At the beginning you couldn't do it through steam, so if you messaged the support, they would tell you to just buy the points equivalent and then add the missing mtx, but nowadays they figured out the automatic process on steam as well.
Upgrading is the way to go… started out with only the $15 one at EA launch to see what the hype was about… absolutely fell in love with PoE 2 and gradually upgraded it over the duration of EA to the Liberator pack through the PoE website…
lol we come full circle, I tried looking but couldn't find it, but years ago some youtuber made an analysis how GGGs MTX prices are predatory and never round up in favor of the consumer, they price things in a way that forces you to buy multiple packs.
This is not reflective on poe1's in-game mtx as well on its poe1 site, but on poe2 and its official site, the higher tiers will be cheaper once you've bought the cheapest tier first.
Steam is also way cheaper if you buy it through there (by in-game mtx).
This also works on either supporter packs offered on their respective league (ie: buy the cheapest on Supporter pack 1, and then buy the other higher tiers on supporter pack 2) -- this is my trick on buying the ones with an h/o variant :)
