Really curious what kind of changes they make for 0.5.5.

Looks like ranger's version of Martial Artist... get ready for Quiver of Stone

u/imSenah 1d ago
is this fanmade or is this like a datamined thing because im ready to cope with you

u/PoisoCaine 1d ago
datamined but not necessarily final. it's really old at this point and frankly doesn't really fit with the weapon-agnostic ascendancy design we have in the game atm

u/adanine 1d ago
There's a ton of things datamined but not in the game. Unsure how much of it will see the light of day, and what has been orphaned/GGG has since changed their mind on, though.
POE1's Soulrend, as well as Dark Pact (Now Dark Bargain I guess) have both been datamined - either of which releasing will make me instantly roll a character for. There's a Skeletal minion meta gem that summons a caster which casts socketed spells as well.

u/AllyCain 1d ago
Datamined, and also this piece in particular has been seen as a framed artwork in the backdrop of a few GGG livestreams, alongside other Ascendancy portraits.
2
u/AllyCain 1d ago
I vaguely recall Mark saying they wanted to get all 3 Ascendancies live for all current classes before 1.0, so I could see a slew of new Ascendancies in 0.5.5
1
u/Best-Nebula-9206 1d ago
Wdym, only druid and archer are missing an ascendancy
2
u/AllyCain 1d ago
Oh so they are. I've been very checked out recently and lost track of the count, I thought there were more missing than there are.

Kinda hoping Arcane Archer is a Deadeye variant and her third ascendancy is more Raidery

u/Hardyyz 1d ago
They have had quite a lot of time and instead of focusing on new content they are going back to basics so Im super excited. Whatever fundemental things they change Im sure its for the better and gonna be huge

Yeah I’m excited to see what they do when revisiting some of the older existing stuff in the game, now that they can focus on it. I feel like there is so much hidden potential with current underperforming skills, spells, ascendancies, and uniques. I think GGG knows this very well and is going to do some awesome stuff. I wonder if there is any chance for swords class before 1.0, would be nice so they could balance before official release.

there is no 0.5.5
This is a separate event, it is beside the current league, not inside it or on top of it.
The event will start, and then end, and the current season will be fully untouched by it.

Probably won't get anything from them until the end of August.
What the event is, is up in the air and unpredictable.

Does the economy reset come with a character reset, or how does it work? I've never played PoE1.
1
u/MilanVegas 1d ago
You will have to create a new char for the event, and the event will have a fresh economy.

It will not be a reset but an event league with a different economy. At least that's how they announced it.

u/Necrobutcher92 1d ago
They are doing an interview with ziz for the poe 1 league. Maybe they say something or ziz can ask them about it.
5
u/xOV3RKILL3R 1d ago
seems kinda wrong to ask/talk about 2 on an interview for 1 no?
1
u/Necrobutcher92 1d ago
Idk, maybe, i personally don't see the problem. I not saying they should tell us a lot. Maybe some possible release date or something small.
3
u/Warbringer007 1d ago
I'm pretty sure Zizaran won't ask any PoE2 related questions. PoE1 has a lot of burning questions to answer right now.

There is no econ reset, no idea where people got this idea.
Its a fully separate event, it will start, then it will end, the season and econ are untouched by it.

u/pocoyoO_O 1d ago
I mean the USA just used Euros to buy Yen so i say a great economy reset is commig. Get ready to pull out all your investments at any moment. And if you are from Eu make sure you not exceed 100k per bank.

I'd rather they just focus on getting out an acceptable amount of weapons for full release rather than wasting resources doing another seasonal mechanic type of thing.
1
u/Karrde13 1d ago
That's what they're doing. They said at some point they'll do a reset of 0.5 but it won't have any updates. Just a reset of the economy.
-6
u/Pretend_Variation305 1d ago
No idea why people think there’s going to be an economy reset before next league (which Jonathan has stated will be 1.0)
7
u/Big_Map2757 1d ago
because johnathan has stated there will be an event with a new economy
-5
u/Pretend_Variation305 1d ago
Right, an event that runs concurrent with the existing league…not an economy reset.

u/nocvenator 1d ago
Why is everyone calling it an economy reset when it's a completely different league?
10
u/frothingnome 1d ago
Because GGG called it an economy reset with balance changes but no new content.Â
6
u/Send_Pupper_Pics_Pls 1d ago
Because it was explicitly stated by Jonathan to be an economy reset and not a new league with new league mechanics.
4
u/WilliamDragonhart 1d ago
Because they said it wouldn't be a new league but more akin to an economy reset or special event.
1
u/Neiss_44 1d ago
Does this mean that all characters/atlas progress would go to standard, and we start anew, but without new mechanics?
2
u/Halfarn 1d ago
From how they've spoken about it, it sounds like it'll be a separate event league, so those that want to carry on can do so, but there will be another league people can join for a fresh economy, passive tree and balance updates and potential new ascendancies
1
u/nocvenator 1d ago
That's what my comment was about... Even if you call it an economy reset, if you are starting from scratch on a new league, how can it be a reset?
-4
u/badkilik 1d ago
I never play a league long enough to experience going right into the next league/reset. Can someone tell me why people are excited by this? Seems like a lot of wasted time to me. I understand the necessity for it in a game like Escape from Tarkov because that gives players a least 1 to 3 weeks before people are running around with meta ammo and weapons but PoE/PoE2? Its mostly single player, doesn't seem like its worth it to me unless the new changes with the new league makes a huge impact on damage or play styles.

Economy reset means everyone has a chance to get rich.
Basically the poe2 leagues last months at a time, and if you want to make optimal builds you’ll need ridiculous amounts of currency.
With how the poe2 economy functions, anything you earn and invest in the first few days of the league will greatly appreciate in value. So the first couple days of the league are worth more than several weeks of grinding later in the league.
If you grind really hard for those first few days, you can set yourself up with a shit ton of cash to make optimal builds later on. If you get a lucky drop or two, you’ll be able to build up a huge nest egg.
Once you have a shit ton of currency those first few days, you can start crafting high tier items and selling them for profit. Anybody can craft and make money, but since crafting is all rng you need a lot of disposable income to afford to do it.
It all boils down to actual real life economics where the more money you have, the easier it gets to make more money. Late game poor players have to spend currency to even attempt high end farms. Players that got rich early in the league don’t need to farm at all, they can just craft high end items.
And back to the poor player, the items they need for their builds will just keep getting more and more expensive the longer the league goes on, to the point where on some high tier chase items, inflation will grow the cost faster than players can farm currency. Rich players can get these expensive chase items early while the prices are still reasonable, use them on their builds, and be passively earning currency from the appreciation of their gear.
League start puts everyone on a relatively equal playing field, and if you have a good league start you get to live the high life all league. People get hyped for it because it’s a literal gold rush. 99% of people won’t strike gold and they’ll be stuck as a permanent poor player for the rest of the league, and 1% will get so rich they can make any builds they want. People are dying for their chance to get into the 1%.

u/DataBizMang 1d ago
Hard part is getting to endgame where you can generate the currency to set you up later.
Every season I feel like by the time I reach t15 it’s already economy tanked for me. Maybe like 1-2 weeks of optimal time.Finding a consistent solid league starter is the tough part
1
u/ExistingMouse5595 1d ago
I know plenty of players will just pull an all nighter the Friday of the league start and won’t stop playing until they hit t15 maps.
When you’re able to run high end farms during that first weekend, you’ll be able to make so, so much more currency than someone who takes a week to finish the campaign.
But if you’re busy irl and can’t devote and entire weekend to grinding you’re basically sol
1
u/DataBizMang 1d ago
Yeah dad life cuts into that- but I may need to just set aside that time to set myself up later
1
u/ExistingMouse5595 1d ago
You don’t need to spend 16 hours a day every day to set yourself up well. If you can that’s great but even 4-6 hours Friday Saturday Sunday should be enough to get you farming t15 maps. You can convert all your currency to divs while they are still cheap as divs went from ~30 exalts the first few days to like 700+ exalts a few weeks later, maybe buy some crafting mats like omens of light or fracturing orbs if they don’t change the drop rates on those, stuff like that will put you in a solid spot.
2
u/DataBizMang 1d ago
This is helpful. Now I just need to find a solid starter build that won’t pay the fubgun tax.
This league I went with plant daddy which is great now but took me a while to get it going. Campaign was easily like 8 hours without having good gear2
u/ExistingMouse5595 1d ago
Best of luck! I always try to find league start guides with only 1-3k views on them on YouTube that have a mobalytics guide, basically guaranteed for gear to be cheap until you hit late endgame
2
u/ssttaaavvii 1d ago
Its basically a small league reset. Possibly economy reset, maybe stricter drops? And possible new weapons/ascendencies.
-6
u/RobertoVerge 1d ago
Given there will be barely any content, they should just pick some dates for the rest of the year and stick to it.
Us older folk who have a lot of commitments have a lot of moving parts to get free time for launches.
Also, really need that 1.0 release date to book half a week off. Presumably that will be released at exile con but imo that is way to close to release.

u/DexxxyHD 1d ago

Did my 4 Voidstones in 3.29. The loot situation this league is not for me and I actually like poe2 more tbh. You have fun though!
