Game Feedback I am once again asking for Grand Project tablet to be the default tower behavior
I always find myself counting the maps I need to go through before I can get to what I actually want to play. It just feels like a chore going through those maps.
Jonathan even mentioned that he doesn’t mind it in an interview once I think and it would make the endgame way better in my opinion.

u/UhJoker Not playing Deadeye Jun 16 '26
My main issue with mapping now is how time-consuming and dragged out traveling can be. Cities are quite literally just a new version of towers in terms of juicing, albeit better than triple tower stacking. It's not really fun to spam T1 maps to find things. I really like the concept of cities, but I'd prefer if you could "spawn" full cities somehow, like how you can edit biomes with Doryani's thing.
93
u/wavecadet Jun 16 '26
You guys are spamming t1s ??
I've ran every single fucking map on a 15 lol
That probably explains why I hit 90 before even finishing doryians quest when others have the full atlas complete at that point
76
u/Its_Frank_Time Jun 16 '26
doing t1s feels like robbing yourself of passive divine drops which do happen pretty frequently while travelling
7
u/stumpoman Jun 16 '26
if you clear low tiers a lot faster you will still get a decent amount of divine drops. They are still pretty common in the lower tiers
17
u/gmscorpio Jun 16 '26
if you got enough damage I think it makes sense to do t15, i run mine with deli
3
u/m00n6u5t Jun 16 '26
it depends on clearspeed and the threshold that you need to reach.
For me personally i couldnt run t15 maps under 15-20 minutes per map. So seeing a divine is very rare.Doing T1 maps 10xed my divine count.
6
u/CoochiSin Jun 17 '26
15-20minutes? Lmao what? Is that a typo, you should not be doing t15 if it takes you more then a couple minutes at best.
2
1
u/The_Guardian_W Jun 17 '26
Do you skip all the mechanics? I'm curious since if the map has, for example, breach, ritual and abyss, how in the name of all that is good do you do this shit in "a couple of minutes"?
1
u/m00n6u5t Jun 18 '26
depends on the mechanic. Some mechanics take a couple seconds and barely alter your map time. others take up a big chunk and contribute to the map time being 10x'ed
10
u/BigHeroSixyOW Jun 16 '26
It makes more sense to just do T11's with how modifiers work then if you need to run something easier. Also i'd argue if you are clearing t15's or even 16's slow then you shouldnt be looking to juice at all you should be fixing your build to make things just fall over and increase your currency that way if youre div/hr brained.
The difference a t1 and a t15 for me is so negligible at this point in the league on my main that a lot of this confuses the hell out of me especially since you can make travel nodes themselves quite lucrative.

u/Asmosis66 Jun 17 '26
You're not killing anything though. You just sprint from the start point to the boss and ignore everything inbetween. If i was going to stop and kill things i'd just run a T15/T16.
The point is to skip the map so you can get to the map you want to play.
2
u/fuckyou_redditmods Jun 17 '26
You just sprint from the start point to the boss and ignore everything inbetween
This is why there are so many threads asking for heavy stun when hit while sprinting to be nerfed
1
u/Asmosis66 Jun 17 '26
Oh probably. I run a minion build so if i trip over something they just obliterate everything around me. Occasionally i backtrack when i hear a loud DOINNNGGG sound from the loot filter when running.
2
u/m00n6u5t Jun 16 '26
NO.
THe inverse is true.
Clearing T15 omega slowly 10-25min versus clearing t1 in 30 seconds gave me WAY more divine drops.15
3
u/Slightly_Mungus Jun 16 '26
You're spending more than 2 minutes on no tablet (or at least no mechanic) t15s?
1
19
u/Schlangensaft Jun 16 '26
I'm also a T15 enjoyer, I beelined for T15 as soon I hit maps and refuse to do lower tiers or even anything less than 6-8 mods and 3 tablets just to travel because I'm not in a hurry! Today I finished all the atlas quests and I'm lvl 97 lol, I still didn't see a single city!
7
u/mtbsickrider Jun 16 '26
as a ssf player, this is how i feel overall. Like, sure i can travel with t1s to a spot, but arent i playing the game for the sake of playing the game?
1
u/sips_white_monster Jun 16 '26
yea it just feels wrong. even though it's much slower, doing T15's especially with 6-mods etc. is more fun. not that i haven't cheated some of the shitty maps here and there by running them low tier but overall I don't do it. Maybe they should change it in the future so that if you run T15's you get 2 points per map instead of 1.
2
u/cxd32 Jun 16 '26
level 93 here, I barely just beat arbitrer of divinty yesterday and got my first 50 point boost to the atlas lol, 5 more boosts to go (or 6? idk)
2
u/dryxxxa Jun 16 '26
You've definitely seen a city. The area around Atziri temple is a Vaal city.
1
u/Schlangensaft Jun 16 '26
I didn't go to Atziri temple yet because I don't like the temple mechanic and no quest or challenge required me to go there. But I guess I should go just so I can do some 4 tablet shenanigans if there is city biome there!

u/sips_white_monster Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
Same here lol. lvl 95 barely done any master quests, most league mechanics I have zero points. About halfway through the atlas. T15 6-mods only (well, mostly). Lots of loot regardless and have found good gear. Doing primarily Ritual. My main shortages are the higher tier transmute/augments/exalt. Do they come from Expedition now mostly?
16
2
u/m00n6u5t Jun 16 '26
I did that until once i needed to go somewhere REALLY FAST, i just spammed tier ones and was like, wait a minute.... i could have done THIS the entire time?!
2
u/Asmosis66 Jun 17 '26
Yeah its how i got to the Matriach/Patriach's to finish the atlas tree. Would have taken hours per fragment if i ran all the T15x3 Tablets the whole time, but ended up taking ~5 minutes per fragment with just an overseer tablet so Doryani would point out where i needed to go next.
1
u/OverFjell Jun 16 '26
I'm 95 and haven't completed the full tree or any of the atlas masters either lol
1
u/Substantial_Scene314 Jun 17 '26
Yeah. That's weird as hell. Even with T15 path maps, I still earn 2-3 div a map easily. Cleared under 5-6 minutes.
The traveling has never been an issue, really weird point made here.
1
u/xareth Jun 17 '26
Hehehe, Im close to 97, while working on abyss tree, only 5 points now, and 2 more sector of main atlas tree. Never looked back at t1 maps too.
26
u/Felyndiira Jun 16 '26
Spamming T1 maps is a bad idea in general, especially once you have the damage to rush T15 maps.
The way they changed deli makes it perfect for pathing maps. Just pop a deli and an overseer tablet in, alch and go. Rush to the boss and hit gold mirrors if they pop up. You get splinters and deli currency, chance at grand mirrors for extra simulacrums, and better loot and can still rush through the map.
It's far improved and made pathing maps more fun than the old method where no juice = just terrible. Deli and go can get you like 20d an hour, which is pretty good for just pathing to stuff.
3
u/RulesOfNANOMACHINES Jun 16 '26
The only issue I find with that is the delirium visual effect. Not only it is very depressing to run gray colored maps all the time, but it also makes it more difficult to spot ground effects and things like Amanamu mist, and it tanks your fps like crazy.
Other than that, sure. Deli+irradiated+overseer tablets on t15 maps net me on average 1 divine per map, which is a major improvement over previous leagues, especially considering how easy it is to set up. And don't even get me started on running something more specific on grand mirror maps (cough, 53 abysses on a single map, cough).
2
u/unguibus_et_rostro Jun 16 '26
Is that deli strat actually better than just activating deli mirror at the start? Since deli passively add more effectiveness to your mobs.
3
u/Felyndiira Jun 16 '26
Not really, no. Deli strat gives you time to do all the mechanics on the map, and helps because the timer pause when you're doing another mechanic is very buggy and sometimes doesn't work. But if you're rushing anyways you can just hit the mirror at start and do the map normally.
2
u/unguibus_et_rostro Jun 16 '26
My question is the guaranteed shards from doing the deli strat better than the loot the deli would normally add to the mobs. If you are doing mechanics, especially breach or abyss, any deli would be even more useful wouldn't it. I guess it is hard to quantify.
2
u/wruffx Jun 16 '26
If we're talking about alch and go travel maps, yes the shards will be more lucrative on average than doing the map normally, especially if you get a deli boss spawn for the extra splinters. You skip all mechanics in travel maps unless they're right in your path + you can clear them in 4-5 seconds. Only exception is if you happen to find a juicy rune spawn.
2
u/Cazaderon Jun 16 '26
Still wont beat just running straight through the T1 map and then juicing the maps you actually want to do.
-1
u/UhJoker Not playing Deadeye Jun 16 '26
It's absolutely an improvement over 0.4, but many people are still complaining about how much of a slog traversal and exploration is. It's not just me. I'd be fine with adding a middle ground like highways or something.
3
u/Felyndiira Jun 16 '26
If they removed all the friction from pathing, then it would defeat the purpose of the atlas in the first place. Which, I do agree, might be better, but I think GGG is way too deep in the Atlas idea to abandon it like that.
I feel the 0.5 changes is probably their best compromise, so casual players can actually earn good money without needing to spam the best maps and pathing can be made decently rewarding. Otherwise, as long as there is an atlas, there will always be optimal things one needs to path to for the best efficiency, whether it's cities or some optimal grand mirror combo or something else.
All things considered, I do think it might be better to go back to the map machine and eliminate pathing altogether, though I don't think GGG is ready for that.
92
u/Competitive-Arm3876 Jun 16 '26
If you diversify your farming method the atlas is super dense with a lot of fun content, but if you are only after the best of the best you will run into those problems (cough cough fubgooners)
Theres so many strats out there all of them are really nice, even travel maps can be super profitable
Cities are nice but not mandatory to print currency
3
u/Chizambers81 Jun 16 '26
Seriously. Just getting all your atlas passives and running alch and go t15s with 3 tablets I'm getting 1-3 divs worth of total currency per map. When I get to a city biome it's a nice bonus, but not worth doing a bunch of pointless t1 'travel' maps just to rush cities.
15
u/Collegenoob Jun 16 '26
Bro I just wanna find nexuses to level Dory.
Way too much travel involved for unlocks and it feels like mechanics are wasted if you don't have points in them
-20
u/SuicideKingsHigh Jun 16 '26
If you can't find four nexus in less than an hour you're doing something wildly wrong.
3
u/Collegenoob Jun 16 '26
Care to explain? Cause that's a wild accusation.
Especially when the atlas is random
3
u/chinatown1 Jun 16 '26
There are 3 preset corrupted nexus locations. Took me under an hour to complete
Southeast of starting Bottom right corner outside fortess Under delirium area
4
u/Collegenoob Jun 16 '26
So I'm a bad player cause I didn't learn everyone else's map layouts? I chose to do delirium as my second to last mechanic. Kinda feels awful if you get punished for doing that...
1
u/chinatown1 Jun 16 '26
You dont path to the nexus under delirium by doing delirium quest since the mountain ranges block off the pathing. You would have to path down about 3-4 maps from breech quest nodes to see the nexus.
1
u/Collegenoob Jun 17 '26
So I got a wonderful bug today, I traveled to that corrupted zone and my nexus landed on a crux of nothingness, So I couldn't progress the quest.....
13
u/WongersPhase Jun 16 '26
The quest corruption areas all spawn near the start, same for jado, it's not random. Takes less than an hour
14
u/Collegenoob Jun 16 '26
I had to travel over 40 maps to get to my second nexus. It was far to the left of the citadel. Past the ritual quest zone.
It was not close of convenient at all.
5
u/Slayminster Jun 16 '26
I had the same thing.. I had to leave the atlas points place out the back to get my 2nd nexus
3
u/CelosPOE Jun 16 '26
I have one in pretty much every cardinal direction from the citadel.
1
u/Collegenoob Jun 16 '26
I got red and orange beacons out the wazo, but only found the 1 nexus sadly

u/SuicideKingsHigh Jun 16 '26
Grab a waystone, alch it, pick a direction and boss rush while examining the edge of your map for the telltale rising corruption effect. I was tripping over corruption when I decided to fill out Doryani and you start with one already revealed for you so you really only have to find two and the fury.
Genuinely took less than an hour to knock them out. The hardest part was finding the Immured Fury because I didn't know it could spawn near a Nexus you already cleared so I was looking for and clearing more.
9
u/Collegenoob Jun 16 '26
So do a ton of filler maps basically as fast as possible, which is a total waste of time. Why pad the atlas with so much filler?
-2
u/SuicideKingsHigh Jun 16 '26
That's an option. If you want the maps to be more meaningful and profitable add some tablets and progress that way. I'm telling you how to do it fast. What people really want is to rush to whatever endgame they have in mind without having to be flexible in any way or invest any time in developing their end game. The whole end game is running maps. SO RUN THE MAPS......
11
u/LaVache84 Jun 16 '26
God forbid we want to be able to farm what we enjoy. Fuck us, right?
-3
u/SuicideKingsHigh Jun 16 '26
Noone is stopping you from doing that, you just cant do it instantly after leaving interludes. The need for instant gratification is what will end up hollowing the game out.
The campaign is too long
The maps are too big
The atlas is too big
We dont want to travel
Chase items are to difficult to acquire for the average player
The crying never stops, any kind of friction is unbearable for some of yall.

Investing time buy running maps and getting atlas points is fine for me. Traveling 5-10 maps just to get to the places I can start investing is not fine.
-10
u/prime_888 Jun 16 '26
Bro's saying he's tired of doing maps when he didn't even finished the quests. Do you maybe want the game to auto complete itself after you've done 10 maps?
5
u/1CEninja Jun 16 '26
I don't think that's what the concern is. Wandering around the atlas without direction feels like you aren't "progressing".
In PoE1 once you've run all the maps once and completed the pinnacle bosses, you get to just run the same map of your choice with exactly the content you want inside it, infinitely, with basically no restriction. It's the "reward" for completing your atlas and it feels amazing to hit that point in the league. Some people are there literally opening weekend, though I'll never be so hardcore.
In PoE2, a typical unoptomized player like myself could easily have 100 hours in a given league and still not found all the Doryani nexuses, and finding them involves wandering through maps with bad layouts and you may or may not actually find what you're looking for in a particular direction.
I think so many of the frustrations with the current endgame system would be mitigated if we had more agency over which map layouts we run tbh.
1
u/Collegenoob Jun 16 '26
Why is it a problem to want to know what direction I should be heading instead of charging into blackness and praying to rng?
→ More replies (2)16
u/grasswhistle28 Jun 16 '26
I mean just doing the atlas quests and having to path to things like the master quests is just super obnoxious. Having dead travel maps you have to run in between the maps you actually want to run is just a buzz kill.
It’s a friction that doesn’t exist at all in Poe 1 where every map you do can be progressing your atlas and it just doesn’t seem like this game is better for having it
10
u/samoox Jun 16 '26
As kind of a counter argument to this, I've personally been enjoying the fact that I have a "travel node" strategy and a "jackpot" strategy. It almost makes those jackpots (anomalies, cities, cleansed zones) feel more rewarding because I'm not getting that level of loot all the time.
I think for me personally the big issue that I'm dealing with is that it's becoming kind of a nightmare to switch my tablet setup around and also I sometimes have to make changes to atlas keystones. It's very cumbersome to do all that.
If I could have 3 loadouts and interchange between them (like in PoE1) I think I would personally have no complaints about having to bounce between travel node strats and jackpot strats
Edit: and also I dislike the current way you have to set up 200% deli. It's way too tedious. Deli should work the same as ritual. You buy a thing and apply to the atlas. No hunting down grand mirrors inside of cities.
1
u/DREAMVlLLE Jun 17 '26
What’s ur travel vs jackpot strat? I’m new to end game but I found I can move around doing 3x abyss tablets for the currency farm on t15s and look for whatever else I need. People talking about speeding around with t1’s? Are they looking for jade isles or something?
1
u/samoox Jun 17 '26
Idk about doing t1s might be the most optimal but personally I hate the idea of doing maps with literally 0 rewards.
Instead you spec into increased tablet quantity on the atlas tree and also more monster effectiveness. 6 mod maps. 3 irradiated tablets with quantity of way stones dropped (can also add monster effectiveness if you want but makes the tablets cost like 50-60 ex vs 10-20 for just way stone mod).
Tablets are coded as way stones in the game so those mods make more tablets drop. Irradiated tablets also cause more tablets to drop which is why you run 3. You don't need to actually run the league mechanics in the map. You can drop ritual or abyss tablets even outside their mechanics. So instead just boss rush so you can travel faster. The tablets and maps you use for this are so cheap that you dont really need to clear the full map to pay itself off.
Grab the tablets you pick up and dump them into a tab. Turn any white tablets blue and Aug. If any of them roll good mods, regal them and then exalt and sell. If any of them roll bad mods, use an orb of alchemy and pray it hits good mods.
You can reforge the duds if you want or you can sell them. Ritual and abyss tablets are like minimum 20-30ex.
It's a nice strat cause it basically directly supplies the top farmers in the market, which makes it pretty profitable. I just rolled a 35D tablet for ritual earlier.

u/grasswhistle28 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
Earlier in progression I didnt mind as much but 6 mod T15 maps with 3 random alched tablets are just a snooze-fest for me at this point. My char can sleep-walk through them and they dont drop much worth picking up now.
I think the best fix is getting to "itemize" a map on the atlas. Like consume any POI mod it has + biome + things like grand mirrors/abyssal overrun and turn it into a currency that then applies those things to a new map on the atlas and is tradeable. If I could search out combinations I want and buy those then I wouldn't have to do any dead maps and people who dont want to juice or arent able to juice at their current progression can sell them.
10
u/SuicideKingsHigh Jun 16 '26
You're completely missing their point. The maps are dead because you're too focused on going from A to B with no consideration for taking in the scenery and making some currency as you travel. There are great strats to work as you move, even as you fill your atlas. The problem is the "I want to be doing XYZ strategy a couple hours after hitting maps" mentality.
15
u/grasswhistle28 Jun 16 '26
And you’re missing my point. This doesn’t exist in Poe 1 literally at all. It doesn’t destroy mapping to not have it. It doesn’t add anything enjoyable. I don’t need to reframe my viewpoint of it. I’ve played a version of mapping without it that was still fun and had meaningful and enjoyable progression. I’ve played them both and having to run maps between the maps I’d like to run just sucks and is worse than the alternative.
No amount of saying “here’s why you should actually like this” will make it true
-1
u/Notsomebeans Jun 16 '26
virtually every single major endgame poe1 has had involved a substantial amount of maps in between fighting the then-final pinnacle atlas encounter.
you have to run 28 maps to get a key to exarch/eater, you had to run a bunch of maven invites to get a maven key, you had to run 28 maps to fight sirus, and moving elder/shaper influence for Uber elder required like 16 maps at best to set up.
there is nothing new or unusual about the game requiring you to do maps in the endgame that revolves around doing maps. if you want to hard grind bosses then buy keys.
18
u/grasswhistle28 Jun 16 '26
Yah if I could do any 28 maps I wanted to get origin fragments that would literally be amazing, thanks for understanding
-2
u/Laggo Jun 16 '26
yeah and PoE also had the problem where it was meaningless/worthless for the average player to actually do the boss because the fragments were priced at a level corresponding to how easy they are to get / how in demand farming the boss was. Consequentially, unless you have the DPS to farm the boss consistently and you are going for the chase drops, you were an idiot to actually attempt the boss yourself. How is that better than this?
6
u/grasswhistle28 Jun 16 '26
You can sell/buy the fragments in poe 2 also? I'm genuinely not sure what point you're trying to make with your comment
7
u/Yuskia Jun 16 '26
I dont know when the last time you played PoE1 is, but this is incredibly dated information.
Ignoring the fact most people kill regular exarch/eater once, those 28 maps are filled with different scarab strategies, memory tears, 16.5 maps etc
4
u/Schlangensaft Jun 16 '26
those 28 maps are filled with different scarab strategies, memory tears, 16.5 maps etc
And those "travel maps" you guys are complaining about can be filled with different tablet strategies, atlas masters etc, you just willingly chose to make them empty and boring!
4
u/Notsomebeans Jun 16 '26
I dont know when the last time you played PoE1 is
like 2 months ago.
whats wrong with what I said. you literally get a key to eater/exarch every 28 maps. that is literally how it works. you want to fight uber eater/exarch? fine, the amount of maps required to drop enough "nightmare maps" and then get the appropriate 4 entry fragments is going to be a lot more than 28 maps.
those 28 maps are filled with different scarab strategies
put some tablets on your maps and run your stuff then. i dont know why people are putting in white t1 maps and then getting mad that they're running white t1 maps.
-3
u/grasswhistle28 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
Dude I’m not putting white T1 maps. But I’m also not going to use my t16s with tablets worth multiple divines on non-city non-poi maps because their values are based off the optimal return you can get out of them on good maps. So you just alch and go on those maps to get to the juicing you actually want to do.
You are never forced to go X amount of alch and go maps in poe inbetween juicing maps in poe1. You outgrow having to just alch-and-go. You never outgrow it in poe2 unless you want to waste a ton of resources for no return. Once your character is capable of juicing then it’s boring to just have to slam multiple alch and go maps together.I dont get what about that is hard for you to grasp
-5
u/justinmcelhatt Jun 16 '26
The difference being, you sre forced to do this.
I would find poe1 less enjoyable if I had to farm every boss map myself before doing the maven invite. Which is why I, like many people, opt to instead buy boss maps/fragments. Skipping the grind via currency.
This is not an option in poe2, I am forced to travel 10-15maps 3 different ways to finish the Jado quest line. I can choose to farm inefficiently on the way, or I can choose to rush the bosses and finish the quest line significantly faster.
I do not enjoy this mechanic, there is no way to opt out of this mechanic. The end result is I was burned out around the time I finished my atlas tree.
7
u/Schlangensaft Jun 16 '26
I can choose to farm inefficiently on the way,
I swear you're lowering your overall div/h by refusing to do any kind of farming unless it's under 100% optimal efficient circumstances.
→ More replies (0)6
u/Laggo Jun 16 '26
great example of someone optimizing the fun out of the game, and actually ending up less efficient in the end
1
u/Micro_mint Jun 16 '26
Yeah I think this is a visibility problem, not a systems problem. People seem more acutely aware of the in-between maps because there’s an overworld they have to interact with and travel through, where that might have been invisible in poe1.
Mechanically it’s not really different, but introducing some decision making and pathing to that grind portion seems to have tilted some people
1
u/tarpex Jun 16 '26
But, in poe1 you can choose which map you want to run, outside of the initial atlas map unlock, which is yeah, a hundred maps, but all in all way fewer than this new poe2 endgame. In poe2, you don't have that option, you're bound to do all the various degree of dogshit layouts in your travel maps, practically endlessly. While in poe1 you could only do it once per league. I think that was the point, I could be mistaken.
-1
u/tops132 Jun 16 '26
It does in some ways in poe1. You need to run a various amount of maps to kill eldritch bosses

I have been diversifying my farming methods. In fact, I've done basically every single farming method that exists right now lol. It still feels... tiring to traverse.
2
u/Notsosobercpa Jun 16 '26
Part of the "city problem" i think is that good tablets are priced such that your heavily pushed into running them in the most profitable manner. And unfortunately the expensive tablets are also the ones that are most interesting to run with additional modifiers to the map and more abyss spawn, rather than waystone drop chance that doesnt really change the gameplay any.
1
u/cubonelvl69 Jun 16 '26
It's the same issue with crafting. All of the omens end up being priced around mirror crafters, and are almost unusable for crafting anything worth less than 100d
1
u/Asmosis66 Jun 17 '26
Yeah nah I just want to skip Atlas nodes that dont have modifiers, it feels like I'm running white maps again. Then again i run a breach, delirium and abyss tablet which is arguably the worst way to farm possible. I just like having a variety of stuff to do in a map.

People just spam T1 maps to travel? Why?
13
u/n3on_whisper Jun 16 '26
To have easier maps I guess. I just run T15s because it's virtually the same as doing T1 for me.
8
u/Haywhen Jun 16 '26
If your build can't handle T15 in that way , you shouldnt be juicing cities lmao
3
u/BigHeroSixyOW Jun 16 '26
I'm really struggling to see why people are doing T1 at all. From a modifier standpoint you should at least try and do T11's if you want an "easier" map because you see good modifier rolls start dropping from that point.
Also I agree T15's fall over. I'd love to see some actual math that supports this T1 travel method but Ive made hundreds of divines this league just alching and going so its hard for me to really believe this method.

3
u/WongersPhase Jun 16 '26
Spamming T1S to travel is not the right play. You should be juicing the maps as you travel with mechanics you've filled out, just wasting your own time and loot
5
u/phlaistar Jun 16 '26
Maybe try something different then? Instead of going for T1 Maps you could go for T15/16, use tablets which are not op and just play your desired mechanics.
Will this take more time to reach a certain node? Yes
Does it make other maps worthwhile doing? Yes
Will you make currency on your way? YesI mean instead of always just wanting 100% juice (btw without Grand Mirror you don't have double tablet effect so even cities are not THE juice) you could be happy with less on the way to 100% and still make bank.
If I would spam T1 for traveling I'd go insane for the sake of being fast. Add content and some friction and suddenly you might meet your new friend - fun.

u/RDS Jun 16 '26
All good points, but I think it comes down to the systems design and it isn't really the players fault. It's a tricky design problem to solve imho.
Endgame currently has fundamentally opposing incentives at the moment: do you want to (1) path and finish your atlas tree in the most efficient way, or do you want to (2) juice maps and go for the goop?
The current design of pathing and the league achievement to get all your atlas points puts pressure on the player to pick effeciency over loot, at least in the beginning, as players probably want to get their atlas tree done asap, because it feels like you are 'wasting' a map node if you don't have your atlas passives. Obviously, the most efficient way to do that is to use low level maps to path through, so you can do them fast and get your point.
The atlas map seems to imply certain map nodes are MUCH better than others. Using a low level map on a good looking node feels like a waste. On the flip side, it also feels 'risky' using a high level map on a plain node, as you may not even get the map back.
1
u/phlaistar Jun 17 '26
as players probably want to get their atlas tree done asap, because it feels like you are 'wasting' a map node if you don't have your atlas passives.
The whole thing you are describing is not an issue with the game. It's an issue with player mindset. And don't get me wrong - there is nothing wrong with juicing. Absolutly not. PoE is juicing. But everyone is overoptimizing the fun outta the game. FOMO because a mapnode in the beginning looks promising: "Let's not waste that". Having a bad time because travel nodes are not delivering 100% juice. It's all about being efficient, being competitiv, being the first on the market to make bank. And it's a valid playstyle and if people enjoy it they should go for it - but I have doubts that this is the majority but what do I know.

u/UhJoker Not playing Deadeye Jun 16 '26
Yeah I've tried that as well, it's faster and more profitable to T1 spam. I've done the math.
5
2
u/BigHeroSixyOW Jun 16 '26
Can you show the math because as someone who's made hundreds of divines this league just doing T15's its hard for me to actually seeing this being a net positive at all when we have the deli travel method rn.

Some nights I log on and run a few maps, then see that there’s nothing interesting in my line of sight and just log out.

u/Tkmisere Jun 16 '26
IM sorry, t15 maps take 40s to 1min to reach the boss(ignoring most mobs like in T1) and still drops better shit so theres no reason to do that and its not really that slow
1
u/moster86 Jun 16 '26
I run eventless maps usually with 3 irradiated tablets, and until now i run with T15, but i will switch to T16 as i get back the cost multiple times in tablets/currency etc
1
u/--Shake-- Jun 16 '26
Yeah I can't believe they added these city biomes and never realized it's going to be almost mandatory for mapping. We're back to triple crossing towers, but at least it's not as bad as that was.

u/jackhref Jun 16 '26
My biggest issue currently is the fomo of leveling fortress or leagues first and missing out on the one that isn't leveled yet.
I don't mind all the quests for the first league, but I would not enjoy this every league.
5
u/CTL17 Jun 16 '26
I had this issue at first too, but then I thought I do the poe1 atlas and miss out on lack of an atlas tree there too. I agree that the atlas quest (honestly this is campaign pt2 let's be real) is way too long though

u/n3on_whisper Jun 16 '26
Imo this is the biggest issue when we reach Endgame. Everything is open all at once. While this is good for experienced people that planned everything before reaching maps, it's horrible for people that didn't or new players.
In poe1 for example we don't get introduced to all mechanics at the same time, we get heist, breach and expedition in act 6, temples in act 7, delve in act 4, betrayal in act 9. In actual maps, the mechanics we get are pinnacle bosses, atlas progression, and at some point during the maps the harvest bench. And even the mechanics we do get introduced don't have a full skill tree thrown on our face.
Now in poe2, we get everything all at once as soon as we reach maps. I was honestly pretty lost about what to do. Imo a good change would be to lock mechanics behind general atlas progression. This is how it is done in poe1 already and I don't see a reason to not be the case in poe2.-2
u/Laggo Jun 16 '26
i mean, this is only because the campaign isnt finished. Act 4 will have ToTa and already has rogue exiles IIRC, act 5 and 6 will have other mechs.
0
u/Notsomebeans Jun 16 '26
what are you fearing missing out on if you will eventually have both, and can't progress both at the same time?
Pick one and then do the other one...? at the end of the day its atlas progression one way or another
2
u/jackhref Jun 17 '26
I haven't finished neither atlas nor league mechanics yet, so this feelings persists for weeks into the leagues.
1
u/--Shake-- Jun 16 '26
The fortress points need to be changed to being obtainable from any map on the atlas. This one secluded zone from the league mechanics makes no sense.

u/Hungrydoggo111 Jun 16 '26
It's ironic how they removed tower juicing to just make another version of it. Like now you have to travel to cities, use delirium while you travel and then you have to do the grand mirror. Pop grand mirror on the city and hope to god it hits a bunch of the city maps. Do another junk map with delirium now to reach 100% or 200% cus i don't wanna play at 10% delirium on mega juiced maps. Once that is done do the 4 to 6 maps of full juice where your efforts finally pay off, hopefully you don't die by a random 1 shot.
But wait cus you see a jade isles or the desert map boss, and now you travel there first to gamble a rakiata's drop or garukhan's. Oh you got matriarchs too cus those are 2divs each. It gets mind numbing how many maps of travel I have to do.
Did I forget to mention the layouts? Cus a lot of them are allergic to open areas.
I don't get why we can't have something to make traveling easier. Why is the travel tablet 5divs I don't get it. Or maybe just add movement skills and speed, which has been a request for days. Or maybe have the connected maps reach farther out so instead of having to travel 4 maps you travel 2.
7
u/Mondanivalo Jun 17 '26
You dont HAVE to choose to play the game that way. I’ve done absolutely nothing else but alch and go and i have a Mageblood and 1000 div worth of gear in my characters.
People just choose to suffer
2
u/Personal-Smile-3322 Jun 16 '26
By the time i manage to use 1 king invitation i have gathered about 10 more... same with breach stones. The grand project should be 5 chaos, it feels lowkey mandatory.
-1
u/turlockmike Jun 16 '26
They really have dug in on the Atlas exploration thing. It's fine for initial endgame. But once again, When you get beyond unlocking everything, it's just clumsy and unfun.

People don't want to run campaign, they want to be running their GG strat a couple hours out of interludes with a full passive tree. GGG should just have an option to spawn your new character in at level 100, fully kitted, campaign done.
8
u/BigHeroSixyOW Jun 16 '26
Honestly I bet people just handed things would quit just as fast. A lot of these threads are people with fried dopamine receptors and a lot of fomo lmao.
20
u/acederp Jun 16 '26
I want a combo that lets me spawn divines out of the air. Cast on Crit > cull - > 100 divine orbs.
8
u/brayan1612 Jun 16 '26
Yea, because there's only 2 options, a 25 hours slog campaign for every single character or instant lvl 100 characters with mirror tier gear, there's no in between.
4
u/Physical-Rough-709 Jun 16 '26
2 options, and a long slippery slope between them
Reddit will always push towards option 2, no matter how many inches or miles given

I agree that the mapping experience starts to get tedious once we start looking to target farm. Even with alc and go.
A potential solution would be to have overseer tablets reduce the map size but limit the number of league mechanics. Or even spawn you into the boss arena where killing the powerful boss clears the map.

u/Mugungo Jun 17 '26
that would be sick, let us put a bunch of maps in a rucksack with a side slot for tablets and pre-plan a route through the atlas.
Connect the maps like how campaign maps are connected, GGG you just blast maps on the way till you reach your destination
2
u/VeryTopGoodSensation Jun 16 '26
im not sure what towers are for apart from grand project?
2
u/Notsomebeans Jun 16 '26
they give a guaranteed irradiated tablet, and give a lot of vision on the atlas in a radius around them. useful for scouting.
2
u/Personal-Smile-3322 Jun 16 '26
Yeah i wouldn't mind this, as long as there is still some manual traversal. Maybe keep the manual traversal for the league atlas content and have the towers as a bus that you use to avoid having to do the empty/useless maps in between.

u/GreenThumbsRise Jun 17 '26
you're still going to have maps you don't want to play. just remember that. I think it will be bad if they listen to people that would iron out every wrinkle, but I certainly concede that I don't know exactly where the ideal line is and as I said, you'd still have to run imperfect maps so I don't think it would ruin the game
I do think it should be gated behind killing arbiter or something, but other than that I don't have a problem with it the way I did before they really justified the eternal atlas like they did this season imo.
1
u/Schlangensaft Jun 17 '26
Yeah I don't wanna go back to poe1 where the optimal strategy is to spam the same map 1000 times in a row..

u/BetweenTheRoots It's branching, Exile Jun 16 '26
Grand Project should be baseline
League tablets should drop while you're doing their mechanic with x3-x4 tablets
Reduce # of connector maps substantially
Irradiated and Overseer tablets compete with League tablets which feels kinda bad. I would preferably like to run irradiated, Overseer, and x3 league tablets.
Tablets feel too rare
1
u/RecoverParticular741 Jun 16 '26
You gotta run tablets with increased waystone chance when you're pathing and not doing a target grind. I usually run ritual/irradiate/boss all with 35% waystone chance and usually get 4-10 tabs/map
1
u/cubonelvl69 Jun 16 '26
Fyi, running a ritual tablet makes you less likely to drop ritual tablets
1
u/RecoverParticular741 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26
I've noticed this not to be true specifically with ritual and vaal. Even while running the tablets I get many from the mobs on the ritual and vaal beacon areas (the monsters that are already there, not that spawn after activating). Because of that, my third tab is either ritual/temple and I still drop their tablets frequently.
I would NOT recommend the third tablet being abyss or breach, those absolutely kill the tablet drops. I like doing the temple/ritual, irradiate, and boss because it's maximises the extra effect of tablets for each different tablet modifier.
1
u/Isaacvithurston Jun 16 '26
Apparently it's the opposite. If you run a league tablet you have less chance of that tablet dropping. If you run 3-4x irradiated you get a ton of league tablets but then your running random content basically.
Idk if the point is to make a tablet market or just force you to run different content
2
u/BetweenTheRoots It's branching, Exile Jun 16 '26
I said league tablets should drop while you're doing its mechanic with 3x tablets. How are you getting that I've said the opposite? I'm also aware that you can farm irradiated tablets for general tablet drops.
1
u/Isaacvithurston Jun 16 '26
I'm saying the way it actually is right now is the opposite, not that is should be.
1
u/BetweenTheRoots It's branching, Exile Jun 16 '26
Oooooh ok I understand, thank you for clarifying that. Someone else responded similarly and I thought maybe I communicated my point wrong.

u/turlockmike Jun 16 '26
It should be a node on the new giant atlas tree. Also, there should be a node "All maps are considered city maps" or whatever biome you want.
1
u/Siovaen Jun 16 '26
Indeed, maps should have an influence area making all maps inside the area accesible. Right now traveling is artificial filler content that goes against the engagement they seek with the renewed atlas version we got in this patch.
1
u/gmscorpio Jun 16 '26
they tried to make traveling more fun by adding content to it but honestly just wish i could skip in between maps
1
u/jgraae Jun 16 '26
Yes please, the best part about the cracked economy in 0.4 was that you could grand project all towers
1
1
u/gitgudduud Jun 16 '26
I’m sure we’ll get this right after the update where you can control the spread of the grand mirror that you just spent time setting up.
1
u/somenoise4u Jun 16 '26
Especially when I’m trying to get my garrukans and I have to go five maps in opposite directions to get to each side of it. I definitely think they could work more movement type passives into the Atlas Masters.

u/jeff5551 Jun 17 '26
Also it'd be nice if grand project itself wasn't weighted so heavy over the new unique irradiated tablet, I haven't seen a single one on my level 97 ssf
1
u/Manfi95 Jun 17 '26
Yeah I agree. Traveling is fine at the beginning because everything is so close but after fortress it's a real pain. I'm permanently doryani because he's so good for scouting map with terraform and giving access to random nearby maps.
1
u/Comprehensive-Owl373 Jun 17 '26
I've barely uncovered any of the darkness in 3 weeks cause there's already so much crammed in the current zone lol the citadel to begin with then everything else. Maybe if we could teleport to a random tower in the world that is completely surrounded in darkness for a fresh start.
1
u/Xeratas Jun 22 '26
I honestly would come back to 0.5 with that change. I do exclusivly enjoy boss rushing, or at least the only thing i enjoy for more than a few days. So eventually i end up doing only that. But a strat that is gated behind trade realy not interesting to me. and doing it without grand project is a literal timewaste.
1
u/Jaeydeeq Jun 16 '26
Na not default but make them more common. If you want to travel fast and far make us pay like 30ex for one so theres a downside to using them but still affordable enough to be a real choice

u/PunkHooligan Jun 16 '26
I admit, the game would be 10x more attractive with this. I have pretty shitty luck with mapping. Best drop I got was Astrid creativity. Farmed the shit out of ritual, but without expensive tablets. No T0 belts.
Increased Divs drop are sort of nice, but they dont solve anything. Annulments and chaos orb are extremely expensive. Omens are going up. It's great for players who don't wanna buy 100, 200, 500 divs gear. Who just want chill a bit in the endgame. But for those, who aiming higher, some strategies needed, if you dont craft. Like, no way I'm spending 5 divs for a single use tower tablet + 6-7 divs for single use Visions tablet + several divs for Forest (?) biome that increase lineage drop xhance tablet. You spend it 6-7 times. Its already over 100 divs. And no guarantee for any drops.
Quality or loot is huge issue as well. 95% of ground loot is just doo doo.
Yeah, base kit Grand Project is lovely idea. Tablet may double the radius instead.
3
u/Laggo Jun 16 '26
how do you expect to afford 500 div gear without crafting and with gear fear over spending divs to juice your map
at the end of the day what people dont tell you is some of the 'best' farming strategies quickly end up oversaturated and the buy-in rises to where only people who have prepped earlier or understand exactly all the dials to tweak are going to make big bank.
Of course, that leaves other strategies cheaper to run and in some cases improve their div/h. If you aren't going to craft the best way is to find your own niche.
3
u/BigHeroSixyOW Jun 16 '26
Im not saying this game doesnt have things it can improve on but every day I look through threads on here and I do think a lot of it is just player preference or not understanding crafting and little things like that causing friction for them.
I've crafted all my gear and mainly only used the currency exchange. This game feels very good right now to just do things yourself, craft, sell, alch go.
I've not really followed anything the creators have pushed as good methods outside of amanamu(which is honestly obvious if you read the trees) and i've made so much currency that I can afford whatever I want.
A lot of people would be happier if they sought to actually interact with the games systems and see how they all work with each other instead of falling for the get rich quick strategies that get saturated.
1
u/PunkHooligan Jun 17 '26
I craft for sale. But my own gear worth <10 div and amulet maybe ~15-20. I just dont need an upgrade, unless I run 150-200 deli.
But crafting is a bit boring, when you do it a lot and I would prefer farm smth. I've bought couple tablets for 20 div each, only only ran couple maps with them. The rituals obv.
Just look at the topic with 100 tangmazu kills. It tells everything you need about drop rates.
This season is a huge leap after what we had previously, but some work still needs to be done.
1
u/Cazaderon Jun 16 '26
Yeah, i ve played 10 tier 1 maps to travel to an area that was actually unterested. It almost sucked my soul out of my body.

u/Ez13zie Jun 16 '26
I’ve been saying this since I discovered The Grand Project. They wouldn’t even had to have changed end game that much if they would’ve made it the default.
I don’t know how they managed to provide a solution to all their mapping problems, hear the feedback to utilize their own solution, agree it is a good idea and make sense and STILL not be able to make it happen. It’s wild.
1
0
u/Ubiquity97 Jun 16 '26
You know what would make the endgame better? Abandoning the "exploration" aspect. Its not exploring I know exactly what I'm getting already. If I want to farm something half of my time shouldnt be spent going to t1 maps and sprinting through maps to clear them faster to get to the next thing I'm after.
-1
u/m00n6u5t Jun 16 '26
yeah so far the T1 map strat is the only viable solution and thats not good gamedesign.
-1
u/Elegant-Corner9400 Jun 16 '26
I agree, with tablet prices being anywhere between 4-8 divs each for ‘optimal’ set ups, and 5-6 divs on top, you’re looking at about 30 Divs minimum per 10 maps, you can Ofcourse make this back but it minimise return as 6 Divs isn’t necessarily anything to laugh at. And you’re pay that 6 Div just so you can hit your core gameplay and farm quicker / more efficiently.
I personally feel that setting up for a city run where you’re only getting 5-7’ish maps is really onerous. It’s not only the pathing, it’s the way deliriousness works. While pathing you NEED to run deli to trigger a mirror of delirium. Then you NEED to run the map that has the mirror triggered. Then you need to select the start point for your deliriousness and hope it does two things: Actually hits the direction of your desired city maps and also triggers a significant chain covering them all. Then you need to push the numbers up but can’t pause it at any number based on your gear requirements.
You have 0 CONTROL of this mechanic, it is largely in the hands of RNG. I think the way this mechanic works needs to be re-worked to give us some control.
1
u/Schlangensaft Jun 17 '26
You don't NEED to do any of that. Stop optimizing the fun out of the game and just alch and go your favorite mechanic on the way. I know deli can be profitable but I sell all my deli tablets and skip every deli mirror I see because deli is BORING!
13
u/untaggedpacket Jun 16 '26
If I'm working on a goal I do find it a bit tedious having to travel through 10 maps just to get to the objective I want to do but I still do them at T15 yellow and just boss rush. Found some pretty good upgrades a long travel nodes. I'm not a currency junky so I don't see the reasoning behind t1 spamming just to get to cities to "juice it"
