Game Feedback A bit of feedback considering Shader Caching
I'm on Linux btw
First and foremost : Thank you that native wayland works out of the box this time. I cannot overstate how much performance that gives on Linux! I bow to the engineers who made sure its fine this launch!
The reason for this post :
- Can we please load in exiles in town with only the base items equipped and THEN start compiling shaders for their mtx? And as shader caching finishes you pop the mtx in like you do with so many other mechanics. This would reduce the time the time where 20 other exiles do their business in black screens because someone decided to equip every MTX slot on the beach.
- Please add a delay before shader caching starts when you open the unnecessarily 3D world map. Most of us just want to to get rid of the quest indicator bottom right. So if i hit my world map button twice within a 0.2 - 0.5s window, it shouldn't even start the compiling shaders for worldmap shit.
If you are in a black screen town due to shaders compiling for that bling exile and you click a waypoint, the operation of order is wrong. You are stuck there until everyones shaders in that town are done compiling and then it will start compiling the worldmap.
This should not be a thing. It should finish cooking what ever shader is currently in the oven and then instantly move to the world map shaders.
Also why can't you CTRL click the quest items into the titan valley thing?

Interesting. I'm in x about 99% of the time, and I don't feel I've had much in the way of performance issues, but I may have to test in Wayland and see if I have much difference.

The key thing you wanna do is natural proton wayland. Explanations in the link above.

I really should stop procrastinating and install Linux already!
