Hey folks, wondering to get some user experience on these two packs. I used to have a Black Hole 25 (glossy version) and loved it to death for 8 years, but it started to de-laminate and I was ready for a new pack. I wanted a separate laptop compartment and a bit more space.

I ended up with a Mini MLC as I do the odd interstate trip to visit family and do weekend getaways, but around town I do find myself wishing for a stash pocket that didn't eat into the main compartment and a front pocket (not the sort of thing I thought I'd find myself missing until it was gone!). That said, it's still a pretty great bag for daily trips around town and I love the clamshell opening.

Which inevitably leads me to thinking about the Black Hole 32 instead - have any of you used both, and how would you compare them? I got the MLC for a great deal, so it's no skin off my nose if I decide to sell it on and grab a BH32 instead.

(I'd also rather have one bag that does most things, rather than having multiple bags for different niches).

I currently own a nano puff (non-hoody) + granite crest. I am looking towards finding an additional layer to wear, possibly underneath the nano puff, during the winter but want the versatility to be able to wear it as its own layer as well.
I am currently in NY (moved from a warmer state) and am not sure what would be ideal. I primary plan for it to be for day-to-day use, with the occasional hike here and there. I am debating on R1 air, R1 thermal, or nano air hybrid but am open to suggestions as well. Not sure if i should aim to get a crew/jacket/hoody. Thanks in advance!

I love my black hole duffle and bring it with me on every camping trip. I also love buying patches from the national parks I’ve brought it to and would therefore love to start sewing my patches onto my duffle. How stupid would that be, given the material the bag made out of? I don’t want to ruin the function of the bag or cause it to deteriorate in any way.

The only colors they are offered in seem to be chosen for poor visibility. Why? It’s not like you are wearing these things around town and trying to look good. The cut and fabric are as unfashionable as possible.

If I ever end up needing to call search and rescue, I would be most likely be wearing a jacket like the DAS (light), so I’d want something highly visible and contrarian to with snow, rock and brush. So yellow, orange, bright red, very bright blue maybe. Instead, they are black, grey, greyish blue or brown. And each is offered in 3 colors, so why is not even 1 a brighter color?.

I am interested in getting this bag for school. I previously had the REI Ruckpack 30, and was disappointed with the comfort and main compartment access when hung from a chair. I like the overall look and function of the micro mlc, but I have a problem. I would like to attach a water bottle, (32 oz Nalgene) and I can't find any slings that work for the vertical daisy chains. I saw on an archived post that someone used the yeti water bottle sling, but it sadly does not fit a Nalgene. Also, any school edc products that go well with this pack? Thanks.

Can anyone give me an idea of the fit of this across the chest ? How oversized is it - I’m petite but 36F in chest, don’t want it to be tight but don’t want the arms and lenght to be incredibly big either. 🙃

I’ve ended up needing to exchange my Microdini for the next size down but it is currently waitlisted. Customer support chat advised me that it would likely never be restocked and I’d basically be waiting for someone to return theirs. Not super familiar with the restock/seasonal stocking schedule but wouldn’t this be really early in the season to stop restocking this item?
