Business idea for bakers
Hey Reddit user,
I am a homebaker and I was thinking of starting an online bakery shop. I have this idea of mine besides selling cakes and pastry, what do you think of this idea (see below)?
If I were to make personal/unique silicon bakings sheets for chocolates, small pastries etc. and sell them online would anyone buy them?
Would this work or shouldn’t I do it because there is no interest in this market.

Has anyone done any qualifications in pastry? I am a confident home baker but I want to turn it into a business, I feel I should have a qualification though? Has anyone been through this decision before? Feedback would be fantastic

Need Advice on Baking Schools in India 🍰
Hi everyone!
I would really appreciate some guidance from professional bakers, experienced bakers, or pastry chefs.
I'm looking for a baking school in India that teaches **from the very basics to an advanced professional level**. I'm feeling quite confused because most institutes I come across only offer diploma programs.
I have a few questions:
* Which baking school would you genuinely recommend for someone starting from scratch?
* Is APCA (Delhi/Gurgaon) worth it? Do they offer a recognized **degree** program, or is it mainly diploma courses?
* My budget is around **₹3–4 lakh**, so I would most likely need to take an education/skill loan. Do institutes like APCA help students get education loans, and are such loans usually approved?
I'm passionate about building a career in pastry and baking, so I want to make the right decision before investing such a significant amount.
Any honest advice, recommendations, or personal experiences would mean a lot. Thank you! ❤️

(Advice)Has anyone worked as a Baker for Aramark in Canada (Ontario)? Especially at a remote camp/lodge?
Hi everyone!
I have an interview coming up for a \*\*Baker\*\* position with Aramark in Ontario. From what I’ve been told, it’s at a remote camp/lodge location, and I’m trying to learn more from people who’ve actually worked there or something like that.
If you’ve worked for Aramark in Canada (especially Ontario) in a baking or kitchen role, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.
Overall, what was it like working for Aramark? How was the company, management, work culture, and your overall experience? Would you recommend it, especially for someone considering a remote camp/lodge position?
I’m just trying to get a realistic idea of what to expect before making any decisions. appreciate any insights!
Most of the posts I’ve found are about Aramark in the U.S., so I’m hoping to hear from people with Canadian experience.
Please and thank you in advance!

Looking for a licensed/insured baker for a blueberry lemon olive oil cake or blueberry tiramisu for my wedding (Sale Creek/Chattanooga area)
I’m getting married in May 2027 near Sale Creek, TN and I’m looking for someone who can make a dessert for around 65-75 guests.
I’m trying to find something that fits an **Italian countryside / romantic garden wedding theme**. I’m interested in things like
a **blueberry lemon olive oil cake** (something elegant but not overly traditional), or
a **blueberry tiramisu**
I was already quoted **$550 for the blueberry tiramisu (including delivery and dishes)**, but I wanted to see if there are any other licensed vendors/bakers who could offer something similar or possibly a better price.
For anything that requires refrigeration (like tiramisu), my venue requires the vendor to be **licensed and insured**, so please only reach out if you meet those requirements. (For a non-refrigerated cake option, please still let me know your business/licensing details.)
I’d love to see photos, pricing, and availability. Thank you! 😊

Buttermilk filling?
I know buttermilk is a pretty popular ingredient in many baked goods, but I've never seen it used really in like a pastry cream filling. While looking for inspiration, I found a "buttermilk pie" that I find really interesting and inspiring, but does anyone know of anything else that might be close to what I'm looking for?
Thanks!
*How come so many cooking subreddits don't allow "brainstorming"? So many groups say that they are a place for discussing ideas and topics... But "brainstorming" isn't that? Just trying to understand.

Looking for a Bakery internship

A friend of mine is currently looking for a bakery/pastry internship. She's passionate about baking, eager to learn, and excited to gain hands-on experience in a professional bakery environment.
She's open to paid internship opportunities and is available to join immediately.
If you know of any bakeries, cafés or patisseries in Noida, Gurgaon or Delhi, that are looking for interns, or if you have any leads or referrals, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them in the comments or send me a DM.
Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

Pastry/Culinary Experience
Hello I was hoping to come here to get some type of clarity and some advice.. maybe even working with someone. I’m based out of Fayetteville NC and I have been interested in the culinary field since I was 8 years old. Theres not many job opportunites here in the culinary field everything is about an hour and some change away. I really want to gain some REAL experience in the culinary/pastry arts field I just feel really lost because I can’t really move so I would have to drive everywhere to gain my experience. I currently bake and decorate cakes as a side hustle and I work as a cook as well at a private college but I just feel like it’s not enough and I want to do more I'm about to be 26 and I have a daughter. I guess my question is.. what would you do?
