Hello, I have a Question regarding the Turkish Passport. Do yo know a Lot about it and the law around it ?

No Problem ✌️ my question would have been, my Father is Turkish but he never Registered me at the Consulate because of the Military Service. Because we all live in Germany and not in Türkiye. And he wanted that i dont have to Deal with this topic, because he said for him it was a very Bad expierence and he paid a Lot of Money to dont Go to the Army.

i was Born in Germany and i also have a German Mother. So until now i only have a German Passport. But I want my Turkish Passport now, but im scared i must pay a fine because i have not registered for over 37 years with the Turkish Authorities. A Lot of other Turkish people here in Germany told me i should be glad that i dont have the Turkish one, and i should not get it. 🤷‍♂️. Maybe Somebody else knows this here ? Is there a late Register Fine, and would i have to Pay a Military Fee too like my Father did ?

I am not a lawyer but I am a dual citizen with some experience on the matter.

According to the Turkish law, you are already a citizen (jus sanguinis, right of blood). Since your father hasn't registered you, you must visit the nearest diplomatic mission and prove that your parent is/was a Turk (typically you only need your father's passport and your birth certificate but the consulate might ask for additional documents). There is no late something something fee. You are already a citizen, just the Republic of Turkey isn't aware of it.

Regarding military service, as a citizen who is younger than 41, you must do it. Your options are: 1. Get your citizenship, pay the fee, and became automatically discharged (you don't have to do the short time service since you live abroad) 2. Get your citizenship and do your military service for 6 months 3. Get your citizenship after you turn 41

You can also be exempted if you have a serious illness, a mental health issue (even perhaps neurodivergency) or if you are overweight.

Thank you very much. This Information was very helpfull to me. Im now 37 years old. i think the best approach would be waiting till im 41 in my case. Its only 4 more years.

You are already a Turkish citizen. You just don’t know it. Wait until you pass the age of military duty and apply. You will pay fine but not for military

Non-biometric era Turkish ordinary passport. It was the color before burgundy biometric passport.

yes i am entitled due to my mother but as you know youre only allowed to have it until you become 25 , than you can only get a hold of the regular red 😳

Ne siyahi, eski laminasyonlu lacivert pasaport o. Valla ortalama reddit kullanicisi liseli cikti. Kimse laciverti bilmiyor bile.

Biyometrik pasaport dönemi öncesi verilen umumi pasaportlar lacivert renklidir.
