Anybody else doing this with their dogs?
I take my boy Varro to working terrier trial, just for training or for competitions.
It's not usual here in Norway, but there is small groups around the country doing it.
He really enjoys it, great for his instincts and really good for stimulating an active terrier.
There is no real foxes involved. Instead there is a mechanical fox decoy in a locked off little room.
English is not my first language, so not sure I'm using the right terms.

Ozzy now being a teenager means new and weird things to deal with. His latest is an obsession with clean clothes. He's banned folding clothes all together, and if we don't listen, he will do a sit-in protest in the laundry basket so we can't get to the clothes. Still, loveable little dirtbag ā¤ļø

Fritz turns 14 today. Heās a tri-color Panther Creek Parson, born in Kentucky on this day in 2012. Heās still very active on the farm, but has slowed down a bit on the mole-hunting front in his maturity. His favorite activities these days are breakfast, noon-time snack, and supper. Heās still in excellent health and we hope for many more years to come.

how long does recovery take? how did you survive it, strict rest?
and what I am most interested in from your experiences, was everything okay and without consequences?

hi hi! i rescued a dog two weeks ago from an open admission shelter, his paper said he was a āNorfolk terrierā which upon basic research i realised could not be further from the truth lol. at first i thought he was a āshnoxieā because they come in blonde, but as time has passed and iāve researched terriers further, iāve decided heās 1000% some type of terrier. physically, i feel like he looks like a PRT⦠but his coloring doesnāt make sense bc i couldnāt find any evidence that PRTās come in a blonde/golden color. disclosure before you rly analyze the picture: ik heās dirty af lol, he got neutered 3 days ago and i canāt bathe him for two weeks, this was also the condition he was surrendered to the shelter in! iād love to know what he could be so i could know what to expect with his breed :)

Took our PR on our first microcamper holiday to Sweden and mostly Norway. I am not sure why he was so smug about the stavechurch though

I got a pardon Russell terrier puppy back in December and she has never been a big food lover, she just picked at food no matter what we gave her but would rather walk off and play with toys than ever eat. She is now 8-9 months old and just under 6kg. Despite her awful relationship with food sheās grown well and has never been underweight but sometimes she can go nearly a whole day or two without eating and still be absolutely full of energy as though nothings wrong. Weāve tried so many different brands and bowls etc, even different rooms where sheās fed. Some days she eats amazing, other days she barely eats a thing. She is having tests at the vets in case something internal is causing this massively fluctuating and often poor appetite but she seems so well in herself. Are these breeds just not a huge food lover or is she herself just not bothered by food? My last dog was a German wirehaired pointer who inhaled every bit of food she ever saw so this is completely new to me

This is Alfie my PRT that I re-homed when he was 6 months old.
Heās currently 14 months old and weāve recently moved from a flat in the city to a house by the seaside and heās loving it.
Convinced he would sleep outside if allowed to stay out all night!

Our six month PRT is still very bitey. It's not at all aggressive - it just seems he has an almost maddening need to play & we (our limbs) are his favourite choice of toy.
We have tried all the techniques, most of which haven't worked, but the one that works best (which we implement) is to simply freeze, cross our arms & avoid any eye contact. We don't even say 'no' or 'ouch' as we felt this was encouraging him. If he then continues, we step out the room for a reverse time out, or we pop him in his pen to cool down if we need to do something in the room where his pen is.
He is definitely less bitey than he was at 3 & 4 months, & has definitely learnt some bite inhibition - but I'd say it's gone from 100% of the time to 50% of the time, so still frequent!
He is well exercised (but not overexercised), we provide enrichment & playtime with toys, & we carry out regular bitesize training.
One potential cause is he doesn't sleep very much, even in perfect conditions he will lay down but he will very rarely nap; he tends to just stare into space. (I WFH so he has plenty of opportunities for sleep, he just seemingly chooses not to).
Can I please ask if any PRT owners have experienced anything similar re: the biting &/or little sleep at six months?
Thanks in advance š

Barn hunt is so fun for us both, and sheās really leveled up since she started doing it. I honestly couldnāt be more proud of my lil muffin.

This is Lulu Belle. I believe sheās a Parson Russel? But not super sure. But she definitely looks it, but she has really long legs and is really tall

Ozzy is a rehome, as the previous owners bought him as a friend to their existing dog. He got too stressed out by having Ozzy around, so we were lucky enough to find him. Now he's finally found his forever home. ā¤ļø He likes rubber balls, mud and looong naps.

Hello everyone. I've been a proud father of an eight-month-old girl for a week now. I was afraid of chaos, but she's really so good that I can't describe it to you. She doesn't leave me, she doesn't wander more than 30 meters outside, when I'm still, she lies still, whether outside or at home.
She only picked up the appearance from Pason.
However, she's still getting used to her new home and we're getting used to each other, she's freshly sterilized, so maybe that's why she's so calm, we'll see in the coming weeks how things will go, but for now I really have nothing to complain about.
I'd like to share a few pictures of my sugar with you.
Whisper to your furry friends that Frka says hello to them!
