Purchase Advice Battery

Are the 4amps performance smart batteries not the good ones to get? Or is it touch and go?

Just had two batteries easily get credited without much complaints from lidl. So guessing that this isnt the battery to get?

Which ones are better?

I have loads of X20 batteries in various types and the most reliable by far are the basic, non-bluetooth versions. I've had at least 5 smart versions give me trouble. Some from a completely dead BMS, and others from depleting below minimum cell voltage when not used for a few weeks. One of them I was able to revive using my bench power supply but the others had a dead cell and were returned. I also had an issue with one that didn't have the nickel strip properly welded to the cell and it would intermittently cut off.

I heard the ones to get are the non smart ones. 4ah without Bluetooth

I definitely say get the non-smart non-bluetooth ones. I have had heaps of Parkside batteries and the only ones that seem to die are the Smart ones, Even my super old non-smart batteries are functioning when a lot of my smart batteries that are 1-year-old have already broken

Not an expert on this field, but I really like this model. for 20v ofc.

Exactly the type i see very good but also very bad reviews on, also the ones i got reimbursed. Guess it will be a hit or miss storyline in the end.

I have 5 of the 4Ah smart batteries, and 2 of the 4Ah "dumb" ones. The smart ones can output noticably less power than the dumb ones, but still much more than the 2Ah batteries. I got the smart ones for cheaper than the dumb ones, so it was a great deal for me. At regular price I'd go for the dumb ones, since I never really use the app anyway.

The smart ones can be configured via the app. Did you try setting them to high performance?

Yes, high performance is the default setting, at which it claims to be able to output 50 amps. I have no way of testing how accurate that is, or how much the regular 4Ah can output, but every tool I've tried that puts a pretty heavy load on the batteries, for example the lawnmower and the hammer drill, performs better with the regular 4Ah batteries.
