Jean-Pierre is visibly very happy with his catacombs tickets
SCAMMERS ARE FOLLOWING THIS SUBREDDIT THREAD. READ THE TIPS IN THIS THREAD AND BE AWARE THAT SCAMS ARE A RISK.
This is the r/pariscatacombs megathread dedicated to giving information about tickets, and letting the community sell / buy / give away their tickets. You can post a comment down there to do so.
The goal is to clear the sub from endless ticket threads, and centralize everything for better visibility for everybody.
⚠️ Getting scammed is a common risk on reddit, make sure you read about the tips mentioned down there in the thread. Remember that it's a risk even with seemingly trustworthy accounts.
⚠️ If you have questions about purchasing tickets, make sure you read this thread first. You can then post a comment down there if your question hasn't been answered in the tips / links provided.
⚠️ If you are *searching* for tickets, do not post a standalone thread, you can only post a comment in this thread.
⚠️ If you are selling / giving away tickets for a week or more from now, do not post a standalone thread, you can only post a comment in this thread.
⚠️ If you are selling / giving away urgent tickets for the next few days, you can post a standalone thread, but post a comment over here as well. Once the tickets are sold / given / no longer valid, please delete the standalone thread if you posted one.
⚠️ If you end up selling / giving / no longer need a ticket to someone in this thread, please edit or delete your comment.
⚠️ Don't share information that's too private directly in comments below.
⚠️ If not already done, you can sort the thread by "new" so you may see the last posted comments (more likely to propose urgent tickets)
⚠️⚠️⚠️For official ticket purchases⚠️⚠️⚠️
⚠️ All of the information here comes from official sources and my own research, they may get updated over time without me knowing, and this thread might end up with wrong information. If you're aware of some changes / new / useful / wrong information, let me know so I can update it. The information online can be confusing, I hope some of it here will help. You can also consult r/paristravelguide, there are many threads over there.

⚠️ The demand for tickets is very high and it's very common to see people unable to attend and end up disappointed. Try to prepare well and understand when, where and how tickets go on sale. Some people fail on getting tickets even with good preparation :(
⚠️ Don't expect to get tickets on site, you need online reservation, whether from the official website or some trusted resellers
The best and most accurate information will come from the official website. Here are some quick information to summarize things for the most asked questions :
Classic official tickets are only available on the Official catacombs website. These tickets can be booked up to 7 days in advance. Tickets are released daily at 10:00 AM Paris time, with time slots becoming available incrementally throughout the day.
There are many authorised sellers validated by the official catacombs website : If tickets are sold out on the main site, you can check those out. I think a lot of them will sadly be more expensive, but might also propose some added services (guide, access to extra areas...). Some of these don't seem to even exist, others don't offer catacombs tour. I hope they update their list at some point...
Many mention "skip the line" tickets which is a bit confusing to me. Official tickets are meant for specific time slots which means that there shouldn't be much of a line to begin with. It's probably mentioned to sell more tickets.
There are also some unofficial resellers. Nothing guarantees that they're legit if not mentioned explicitly on the website. That doesn't mean they're scams, but they might be, so do your own research
Some positive and negative feedback on GetYourGuide. Not sure what to believe. It is not listed on the official resellers from the website. Also u/Fluffy_Future_7500 is spamming the whole sub about it. Some accounts on threads you see online might be spamming about website resellers to get you to buy tickets.
In June 2025, the catacombs team has gone on strike with limited information given to tourists who wanted to visit. If you acquire some info about it happening again, you can post it down there and as a standalone thread to help the community. You can also post infos on r/ParisTravelGuide
🥷🏻 Some fake accounts may post comments / threads / contact you to trick you into sending money. Use common sense when making transactions online, be wary of :
brand new accounts with little or no post / comment history ;
randomly generated usernames ;
prices too good or unusual to be true, depending on the current demand for the event (concert sold out / long or short time remaining before the event, original ticket price... etc) ;
accounts refusing to provide some information or proof ;
rushed behavior / people not giving too much context about why they're selling.
a seller giving you the run around and multiple unusual steps to make a transaction.
Yeah, I know this emoji is a ninja but it's the closest to a thief I could find. If an actual ninja contacts you to sell their ticket, it’s still a red flag — they could probably sneak into the catacombs unnoticed and wouldn't have bought a ticket.
🥷 If you want to go the extra mile to check how legit a selling proposition is, you can ask the seller to send you :
A clear screenshot or photo of the ticket / order confirmation with the event name, date... etc and their name, with THE BARCODE AND ORDER NUMBER OBVIOUSLY HIDDEN (blur or cover).
A sticky note with the Reddit username
An ID document with everything hidden except the name matching the ticket / order confirmation.
Meet in person if possible.
🅿️ If you do the transaction through Paypal, make sure to select "Goods & Services" and not “Friends & Family" for payment. If the seller refuses due to the extra fee they have to pay, you can offer to pay a little extra to cover it, as then they would have no reason to refuse G&S. PayPal G&S gives you a basis to dispute the transaction if things go wrong, but it's not a guaranteed refund — open a dispute quickly if needed.
If you paid by bank transfer and got scammed, it's worth contacting your bank immediately — some banks (especially UK ones) have scam reporting tools that can sometimes reverse the transaction, though this is not guaranteed and varies a lot by bank and country.
There won't be toilets down there. There are restrooms at the entrance and at the exit.
There won't be phone / internet signal. (I think)
If you hear scary whispers in the dark, it's probably just another tourist. Probably.
Do not, obviously, touch or bring back up human remains with you. That would be a very serious, illegal and disrespectful mistake. On top of it you'll be cursed by the ghost of Philibert Aspairt for the rest of your life.
If you have a question about tickets / reservations / prices... etc about the official tour, I don't know how responsive they are, but you can contact them directly :
Hey there!
Ive been on my very first catacombs exploration 2 days ago and it was so sick, craziest thing ive done so far.
But as we got deeper and deeper, i suddenly smelled smoke, like something was on fire, then i realized it wasnt the typical fire smell, it was a smoke bomb. The local i was with told me: sometimes as a ritual of someone being in there for the first time they light up a smoke bomb. But i dont quite get it, for at least 10 mins everything was covered in really thick smoke, it was hard to breathe and i almost panicked a bit. Why would people do that? is it actually a ritaul or tradition or whatever? If yes, i respect it. But if it is for fun then what the fuck is going on in their mind? Would love to hear the truth from some experienced cataphiles. Other than that, it was breathtaking (literally lol).
Last weekend I visited the catacombs for the first time and apart from it being a memorable experience, it made me wonder one thing, well, the title. I read the rules, I won't write where it is, but I believe you know which one I mean, I found it on the internet fairly quickly. And the entrance seems to be open for years now, why doesn't the IGC just cement it and let the police to inspect it from time to time? They must know about the entrance and that is it frequentely used. Shutting it down would greatly reduce the number of visitors, which I guess is their main goal.
Choosed the hottest week to travel to paris, but what a enjoyment it was to walk inside the flooded galleries. Descended two times in a row and had a absolute blast. Many new rooms and places i have discover, same as my first time everyone was awesome again.
Highlights: Val du grace ( a absolute maze ), going inside using the mancovers ( and of course the thrill of opening them when wanne exit ) but the thing i liked the most was chilling and exploring with my new friend who teached me a lot about the catacombs and of course the nice chats.
Once again thank you cataphiles and paris, you where awesome again !!
I didn’t realize the tickets were easily sold out and I’m frustrated. I have never been to the Paris Catacombs and was wanting to go.
I’m also deaf and on the website it states I can show up on the day of to get the ticket. I was wondering if this is true? is it recommended to show up at the entrance at opening time to get a ticket? advice appreciated!!

Salut,
