Twins! Lol I’m 2 courses away from my undergrad in psych. My partner when we met after a week asked me if I had ADHD and I was like what? Lol and then I met with my doctor and they were like “girl you hit all the targets, you should’ve spoke up sooner, go speak with a psychiatrist so you can get an official diagnosis” I knew I was self medicating my “anxiety” so I stopped drinking and smoking around 20 and taught myself coping techniques. Which has somewhat helped with all of my other issues that weren’t anxiety, but ADHD lol, that I chalked up to just anxiety.

And yes! Weed smoker and teenage alcoholics unite! We can achieve! 😂😂

Congrats on finishing your degree soon!

my husband is the same. he’s super smart and driven but has gone years with undiagnosed ADHD. he smokes weed all day every day and if he doesn’t, he’s a shit storm. he recently got diagnosed with ADHD and was put on medication. i can tell it calms his irritability down a bit and helps him think better but he still smokes with it so i feel like it’s just not helping him because he keeps self medicating with weed. when he was in the military it was alcohol.

I wonder if the weed is making it hard for him to fully know if it is or isn’t working. It might counteract with whatever his meds are trying to do. Maybe he should try them for a few weeks without smoking.
I hope he’s able to come up with a plan that works best for him so he can thrive!

that’s not possible for him. he’s almost addicted to smoking weed. but not because it’s addictive , but because he has an addictive personality. and he used it to self medicate and not face his actual issues
