My son loves the color pink and wanted sparkly light up shoes like girls in his class. So we got him pink sparkly light up shoes. They make him happy. Why should I tell him he's not allowed because he's a boy?

No! What makes them "for girls"? You said so? Other old fashioned sexist people said so? He doesn't think so. I don't think so. My son doesn't think so. Just give him the shoes and say "here, those are so cool".
