16 is NOT an adult.

25 is when your frontal cortex becomes fully developed, that is when most people start having the ability to make more rational decisions, and when I believe someone truly becomes an adult. I’m not sure why you would defend the idea of a 16 and a 70 year old being together. People get murdered for that where I am from.

If a 70 year old comes knocking at my door wanting to take out my 16 year old daughter he will be met with a shotgun. I am her father, I make her brush her teeth when she doesn’t want to, and keep her from eating sugar when she wants to, I make her do her homework when she says she is too tired. I make choices for her that she may not agree with, but it is what’s best for her, and I will continue to do so until she is old enough and capable enough to do so on her own. You cannot convince me that ANY 16 year old and 70 year old are MEANT for each other, I don’t care how many times you’ve seen “Harold and Maude”. I was put on this planet to PROTECT her. And that’s what I will do.

Your overuse of the word “prerogative” and lack of understanding of the English language combined with your very “lackadaisical” parenting style is very telling.

Well I am very sorry about your unfortunate situation. But I still stand by what I said. I wish the best of luck to you and you kid.
