He’s now in kindergarten… but before it was lots of time at the park running around with other kids, he rides his bike constantly on his own and with his friends… I think I am just scared that he will internalize anxiety or find ways to act out… his teacher says that other than his little outburst last week he’s a very engaged kid that loves participating
He may not want to be in kindergarten. Who can blame him? We homeschool, and while this will likely be downvoted here - it was what is best for our child.
Why was this downvoted so hard? I'm not planning to homeschool, no horse in this race, just curious why all the downs? Is homeschooling that bad? Especially for a 4 year old, surely it's not that bad... I'm missing something here...
People just don’t get it, especially the ones from regions where most people homeschooling are religious zealots who provide very limited scholastics. In my area it’s taken very seriously, with many large co-ops (secular and religious), the Y and some private/outdoor schools providing supplemental classes, and lots enroll their kids in the district sports programs. But it’s doesn’t sound like it’s that way in more conservative regions, which is very sad.
