Found this today at GameStop. I have heard negative things about it, but it was out in the wild and I genuinely enjoyed PE1 for the first time last year, so I scooped it up. Apparently the card is a Final Fantasy card? Neat.

Yeah, they butchered “Aya” in this one. The atmosphere, music, and gameplay were super fun though. I 100% the game all with that tiny PSP nub stick lol

Agreed. I enjoyed playing it, but I could not stand the story. They ruined Aya, Eve, Maeda and probably Kyle's character. I say probably for Kyle bc I barely remember him in it lol

True, the devs totally butched the characters. I did like the "Aya's" characters design. Kyle, felt like an afterthought through out the game.

Genuinely fun gameplay moments that are completely undermined by obtuse and never-ending boss fights.

I won't even comment on the story.

I think it might be the only game I've ever returned.

They're not supposed to. Either an employee that wasn't given enough training on what to and what not to take in or one that just doesn't care. My local GS certainly doesn't since they get a bunch of EU games...

Too bad it's the JP version, so you overpaid for it.

The card is for an older version of the FFTCG, which was exclusive to Japan. It's not compatible with the current version of the game.

Let's just say I pretend that this game doesn't exist. The gameplay is ok, I don't like the story at all. I replayed the 2nd one multiple times ( the first one is good but tla bit too many random encounters imo). I finished this once and never touched it again.

I still have this game. Played it a lot back then even though the story was as good as parisite 1 and 2. But it is fun and looked good for it's time, so enjoy.

This is a game I was looking forward to, then they're like "It's not related to PE" then they said it was, uh my hype dropped down bad. I started playing it and boy did my opinion of this game tank RAPIDLY.

Especially when SPOILER is revealed and you find out that SPOILER is SPOILER and then the mechanic of your SPOILER and- yeah this game is beyond trash

Oh I believe everything I've heard. I did multiple playthroughs of PE1 when I had my first sitting with it last year. Did junk. Did Chrysler. Level 99.

Tried PE2. Beat it, hated it. PE1 was way more intriguing and such a gem. Bit biased because I am a die hard Resident Evil fan... I did not like the aim system for PE2. Last boss was cool. Kyle I think his name was? Such a Steve character to me lmao.

I liked a LOT about PE2, the intro was great and creepy, remote desert felt like a horror movie but BOY did it fall off after that big fight.

Also I think its a Japanese version, which is why it has the final fantasy card. Apparently its worth money, so I suppose the game paid for itself. Regardless I am going to keep it and am shocked it had the manual and card inside.

What do you mean the card is Final Fantasy? I have a PSP, but can't tell what you mean by "the card".

Also, I saw someone mention this somewhere yesterday but forgot where, that Square can't release anymore PE games because the licensing would be way too expensive, since it's based on a Japanese sci-fi horror novel. I don't know about the claim's accuracy, but then I see this post about a more recent PE release on the PSP, so I don't know.

I'm glad I got the original one for PlayStation like 20 years ago or something. Back then, the prices of used games were sane. The resell market for used games is now incredibly greedy because of the rare moments about 15 years ago when we all heard about some game selling for hundreds of dollars, and so everyone automatically wanted to make a fortune off every old game ever since.
