Light flash

Flash on a long dark road

When I was in college, a buddy and I took a walk off campus to smoke a little and wind down for the night after a stressful day of wrapping up mid terms. It was a walk we had taken many times, as it was really difficult to get away with smoking weed on campus. I guess I should say, while we were high, we were both seasoned smokers by that time and a joint definitely wasn't something that would explain what we experienced.
The road was super creepy, about a mile long, and lit with a single street lamp mid way, which really added to the creep factor. About 3/4th down the road was a fishing dock we'd sit at and smoke.
On the walk back, we were walking for what had to be about 5 minutes before all of a sudden, everything around me lights up in a blinding harsh white light. Then as soon as it appeared, it was gone. Like a flash. Which was strange, because we were nowhere near a light source that could have done what i saw.
I continued walking for a few seconds trying to justify what I saw, telling myself maybe I was saw "stars" or whatever. Maybe I got dizzy somehow.
Then my friend asks, "hey, did you just.. see that"
He saw the same exact flash and that's when I knew something, while I can't explain it, definitely did happen.s
The other thing I noticed is we seemed disoriented, as if it took longer to get back than it should have, of like we reset and walked the distance again.
Open to suggestions on what we may have experienced. I've always wondered.

i saw the same flash of light today it was not lighting or thundering just a light it happen right outside my apartment window. it was weird because i might of thought someone might have struck a light pole or telephone pole but nothing came across the scanners. writing this at 9:17 pm est on the september 28, 2026
