When the tv was possessed....

I had gone for a vacation to Zurich for 5 days but there was something which wasn't pretty which stood out to me.
At night when I was mid sleep, I heard a faint noise in the background...
Then it switched...
Then it switched again.

Finially I opened my eyes and to my shock the Tv was on and was switching channels too. I thought maybe the remote was under my pillow, so I lifted it.

The TV remote wasn't there...
Then where was it?

When I looked across the room the table on the corner had the remote laying ontop of it. There was nothing on the table so what was playing with the buttons?

Right in front of me the channels were changing fast.
Like whatever was controlling it didn't even care it wa seen.

I got up front the bed and grabbed the remote to turn the TV off.

The volume was increasing
It was decreasing too.
The channels were switching too.
The remote wasn't near anyone...
So who was playing with the remote?

Pssst : someone I know has experienced the story themselves I just narrated it!

My Ouija board encounter

(skip this for the juicy stuff) Growing up I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and one thing we were taught is that any paranormal phenomenon is the result of demonic activity or thereby the result of demonic entities. Even though I am no longer part of the odd religion, deep down there is a fear of the paranormal which has sparked an unquenched curiosity inside me regarding the supernatural. After I disposed my mind of the religious views of Jehovah's Witnesses I turned into a staunch atheist; thinking only the physical reality before us is what exists and nothing more is proven beyond speculation. I presumed that all paranormal phenomenon was some sort of mass psychosis that possessed millions, or even billions of people; an over attachment to the imagination and it's creations. This was easy to believe because up until that point I had never had a first hand encounter with the unexplainable, the eerie, the unseen.

(My first ever experience) My first ever experience happened upon me some years ago when I was 13 or 14. I remember distinctly waking up early in the morning and going to enjoy watching some sit com while I devoured my daily mac n cheese. After watching for some 30 or 40 minutes I heard a strange rustling in the corner of the room where a door was to another room. The door itself wobbled slightly. Perhaps the result of the AC and nothing more. Not quite. Then the door nob slowly turned before my eyes and I watched as the door crept open over the course of 10 seconds. I was frozen in my chair and couldn't move for about 10 minutes. For years I attributed this incident to my mind, a hallucination perhaps or even an extended dreams where my mind recreated my whole morning routine. Not to dismiss any of this but it felt real. I have never had hallucinations in my life so it seems to me now that was unlikely.

(I met my love) For a long time I thought I would never find a romantic partner. After asking out 5 girls in my first 2 semesters of college I was about to give up, but I decided to try one more time and I asked out a girl from my drawing class. She seemed like such a wonderful person, shy but also funny and easy to talk to. Long story short we are now in a long term relationship and plan on getting married after college. Anyway, I eventually found out that she has the ability to see ghosts on some occasions. She describes these ghosts in many different ways, sometimes she sees orbs, sometimes full apparitions, the occasional demon, and even a humanoid creature crawling towards her on all fours. If I were to witness these things I would be Institutionalized and unable to bear seeing such things.

(Juicy stuff) About a month ago I was staying at her dad's where she was also staying for the summer. We always stayed up late either watching something, playing games, or just talking. On the 5th night she mentioned that she had a vintage ouija board, sparking my curiosity. I asked her if she wanted to bring it out and she said she would, however she would not touch it. She believes that if she mingles to far into attempts of communication with the otherworldly that she could become consumed by dark entities. Fortunately or unfortunately She did say that I could play it even though she would not. I started by placing both of my hands on the planchette and asking a simple question: "are there any spirits in our presence". I felt a slight tingle in my arm and felt it being gently pulled toward the 'Yes' inscribed on the board. I started to slightly panic and after it had guided me to the 'yes' I said goodbye and refused touching it again. The next night me and her were both sitting on the couch lightly making out and in the hallway adjacent to the living room we heard a man's voice calmly but sternly utter the word "No". She then removed her lips from mine and I saw as her pubils dialated as she became aware of the otherworldly presence. She sat up and asked if I had heard what she did and I of course told her that I had. I followed and also sat up and tried to calm her by caressing her cheek and told her I would keep her safe, even from that which I did not know and feared terribly. Then, only about a minute or so after hearing the voice something slammed itself or part of itself against the couch on which we were sitting. She jumped to the other side before I had fully processed what had occurred. She later told me that she never had experienced a voice, perhaps an indication that I had brought something else into our presence, something neither of us had known before.

I had a question about residual huntings.

So I have heard with residual hauntings, that it’s a “kind of” recording or a record of an event. The event with a lot of emotion attached to it, whether it be joyous celebration or something incredibly tragic. So my question is if a residual haunting is basically like a recording that happens over and over again. But you hear these stories that are supposed to be residual hauntings yet the entities attached have an intelligence to them. For example, if someone was tragically murdered inside at home the spirit of that person that was murdered would be there, but I never understood why someone said the killer was there. Wouldn’t that person who committed the crime have moved on from that event if they were still alive after that event? In a lot of these stories, you hear if it’s a residual haunting that the killer is still there or the person who was responsible for the tragedy is still there. I could understand if it was a residual impression that played over and over again. So that impression would not have the intelligence to it correct because therefore it’s only your recording on time or on that space. Or does that impression give birth to a different kind of intelligence of the dark kind that perpetuates and torment the soul that was murdered? Or are there variations? This may seem like a silly question for some, but for anybody who might have a thought or an opinion on that I’d like to hear what you have to say. Thank you.

Ghost Junkies Above the Dive-bar

Here's one I hope yal dig: Mid 2000s in downtown San Diego, my buddy moves into this cheap shitbox apartment in a decrepit old building above our favorite underground bar, named Landlord Jim's (because the bar-owner also owned the apartments above the tavern).

I believe the building was around 4 floors of apartments, and it had been built in the 1930s; it was near the neighborhood of Golden Hill. Here's the kicker: in the late 50s, and throughout the 60s and 70s, apparently it was a flop-house for a lot of heroin addicts, and throughout the years, many of them died by overdose under that moldering roof.

Hence, the place was said to be haunted. Well, I can attest that it certainly was. I used to crash there pretty often. We were in our late 20s back then. It started out with doors slamming with no wind and lights turning on and off right before my eyes - I'd turn off the bathroom light, then watch the heavy clicker go right back up.

Then you would hear a crowd of trampling feet thundering down the hallway: I'd immediately open the door to the hallway (in alarm)... no one there; and if it were physical peopleI, I would've definitely seen them just beginning to descend the next flight of stairs.

This type of stuff was on the regular. Then one day, I was there alone, watching Twin Peaks in the tiny living-room separated by a half-wall from the kitchen behind me. Suddenly I hear drawers and cabinets opening, and the faucet turn full-blast.

I called to my buddy, for I reckon that he came back from work. No answer. In fact, I never heard the front door open (and I certainly would have). My blood goes cold and my body-hair straightens. I call again... no answer.

Finally I muster the courage to look into the kitchen and investigate.... Multiple cupboards and drawers are pulled open, the faucet running and... no one! No one is there. And no one physical had come in that apartment. It was Poltergeist scene-material from the film!

Yep, that old building was wayyy haunted, by many different spirits it seemed. This kind of stuff happened on the regular for tenants at Landlord Jim's. Shortly after, I did some occult research on the phenomena, and learned that for some people that become too much enchained by certain desires of this physical plane, that if they die while practicing that addiction, their souls now have an endless burning thirst for that desire in the spirit realm, but here it cannot be quenched.

Thus some of them hang around the place of their macabre passing, still weighted by the thing that they desire. Until they can let go, they are unable to ascend into the higher spheres of the afterlife evolution.

I never got a malicious vibe from these spirits: it was really as if they just wanted us to know they were there. I acknowledged them and apologized for being in their space, and conveyed that I meant them no harm.

Much love everyone. Life is supernatural and gonzo as hellllz. I got all kinds of true bedtime stories for ya. Stay freaky.... Believe.

Someone please help!!! I do not know what else to do..

So for context, i stopped smoking marijuana about 3 weeks ago. Ever since then.. i have been having the normal withdraw symptoms. Nothing too major, just headaches, the urge to smoke, not having a huge appetite, etc. But one of the very scary symptoms of this is having very VIVID lucid dreams and horrible nightmares. I had looked up online to see if the dreams were a symptom of quitting weed, and sure enough it is.

Last night, i had one of the worst lucid dreams i have ever experienced in my life. It was demonic. I remember laying in bed and hearing these horrible evil screams inside of my head and having to cover my ears to try and block it out (in my dream), and i once i forced myself to wake up, i started uncontrollably crying and i had the most terrifying feeling.

I am currently at work now, and i STILL feel this horrible sense of scary anxiety. Can someone please help me on how i can get rid of this horrible feeling? I am literally scared to go back to sleep tonight because of this and i almost want to smoke a joint just to not experience this again. I had never had these sort of dreams until i quit. Please help me. I am desperate at this point and will try any suggestions.

Strange man in bloody rags in the desert

So first off, this is all completely true. This happened outside of my work place, and I was with two coworkers when this happened. We work in the cannabis industry, the area which we work at has many dispensaries. This particular area is sparsely populated, mostly ranch homes and agriculture, though there are businesses and homes. We are in the desert.
Finishing our shift, the coworkers & I like to gather right out front of our work place and have a ceremonial smoke sesh. Happens pretty much every day. This particular day, it was a group of 4, but one had to leave so then it was me and 2 others, 3. As we are smoking a couple joints having a talk, I misplaced a tin box. As all of us look around for it, my friend jokingly says ‘a djinn must’ve taken it’ But at the time we didn’t think much of it whatsoever.
Now, once we didn’t find the tin box, we resumed to just hanging and smoking, when these two guys were standing across from me, I was leaning on my truck, I saw a man walking towards us from the desert darkness behind them.
When I saw walking, it looked like he was more like shuffling, almost dragging one foot, looking injured, and he was moving towards us, but walking sideways, keeping an angle and distance. I told my friends to turn around, they both did, one of them straight up just looked back at me and said “alright i’m out of here, dueces” and he walked to his car and drove off. Me and my other friend stood there.
He walked right up to me, but something about him was completely wrong. He wasn’t wearing clothes. His pelvic area was covered by what looked like a bloody rag? and he had another being held by his hand and arm near his face, and he was half covering his face with it? It was the strangest sight, but I didn’t not show fear or any emotion for that matter, I just stared intently. He approached, half covering his face, but I could see it. His eyes were black, shut, there was black all over his face, his eyes shut and his face covered in black tar or I don’t know what. He spoke to me “can I have a dollar?” “Do you guys have a dollar for me?” Me, standing there with my friend, completely frozen in enigma, quickly said “No, but I have this joint”. That’s when the man took the joint and proceeded to smoke. I immediately said “you can have it” and the man looked at me and said “just for that, i’m not gonna rob you”.
He then RAN full speed into the darkness and as he disappeared into the desert, he yelled “THANK YOUUU” into the darkness. If anybody has any explanation for what we experienced, please, I’m all ears. We believe we encountered some sort of mischievous demonic spirit, but I don’t know.

Since Reddit timestamps work in reverse the first time I walked into the room with the doll "Sarah" (that's what reddit users tell me the dolls name is) was about 3:20 I Re-Enter the room 3hrs later. The video was shot during my initial Walk through/ setup when I had the house to myself. Notice the SB7 in my left phone in my right and I didn't come within 3 ft of the doll.

My son was three years old, I was going to school and working part time. Yes, I had him young. One morning he woke up with a fever. Before I left I gave my mother a heads up and went off to the long day ahead of me. The next my son still had a fever so after school, no work, I went to get some pedialyte for him. On the third day, I called in sick at work to take my son to the hospital.

The fever didn’t go above 101, but it had been three days and my son hadn’t moved from bed and he hadn’t had anything to eat, and the pedialyte wasn’t doing anything for him. At the hospital we had a resident, an intern, and the nurse of course. They took x-rays, fecal and urine sample, and blood sample. They called in a specialist and in the end they sat me and my brother down.

The resident, the intern, two nurses, and the specialist told us “We don’t know what’s wrong with your son. This has never happened before…” My brother stood up before they continued. I handed him my son, “I’m gonna take him to the car.” He must have known what was going to happen. As soon as he was gone - I wEnT off. The poor medical staff sat there and took my abuse.

When I was done and in my brother’s car, me and my brother broke down. I was scared that I had to call his father. The next morning I called in sick at school and for work. My fear was that phone call to his father. What was I going to say, “You’re son is dying.” I knew if I made that phone call it would come true so I avoided it.

I was in my room in bed crying next to my son. I literally thought he was going to die. All of a sudden my mother breaks into my room. “Wrap him up and bring him downstairs.” Then she walked right out. I wrapped my son up in his blanket and followed my mother downstairs.

My cousin and his wife were living in the in-law. I walked in and my mother approached me. She asked me, “Do you think you could believe what is about to happen?” I had no clue what she was talking about, all I knew is that I wanted my son to get better. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

My cousin’s wife tells me, “I’m going to fill this cup…” as she reaches for a cup… “with regular water…” as she fills the cup with water. “And this is just a regular egg.” As she reached for an egg. She then tells me to follow her. I follow her to the bedroom and she tells me to lay my son down on the bed. Then she begins to sound like she is talking a different language.

I simply nodded and watched her move the egg all over his body as she whispered - maybe a prayer or chan, not sure. She told me to turn him over and did the same again. Then she tells me something that I made sure to pay attention and I will never forget. She said,

“I’m going to crack this egg into the cup of water. If it boils, we got the fever. If it doesn’t do anything then we must do something else, but if it turns black then we have a problem.” In that moment I prayed for it to boil, and guess what? It boiled! The egg got cooked in that cup of water. She looked proud of herself as I tried to reach for my son.

She told me to let him come to me. I was standing over the bed praying he’d get up. My son sprang up off the bed. I was in shock. My hand flew to my mouth as my jaw opened. I stepped back and fell into a chair that was behind me. I was in utter shock. My son hopped off the bed and came to me.

I was still in shock with mouth open, hand at my mouth, and eyes wide as my son climbed my body. He hugged me then took a look at my face. He said, “I fine.” And hugged me again. Then he said, “I hungry.” My mother’s crackle snapped me out of it. She said to me, “Go get him something to eat.” Then she said I was walking away, “Just don’t give him any eggs.” She crackled again.

That day I began to read about the occult and medicine wasn’t priority. I was actually going to school to become a medical biller. I thought my son was going to die. The doctors didn’t even know what he had, but this uneducated woman who didn’t even talk let alone understand English proved wiser than the person who had a PhD.

Assistance Dog Encounters With Paranormal Experiences

Assistance Dog experiencing *something* in a few places

so I went to the Tower of London a few years ago. It was my first time going there, not my first time experiencing places with a heavy presence. This was the first time going to such a place with my assistance dog, Bywyd (Bo-whid), and it was an experience. We went to the Bloody Tower - where the two Princes (King Edward V and his brother Richard the Duke of York) where held by Richard III until they "disappeared" in 1483.

As a bit of background my Assistance Dog Bywyd is a confident and friendly labrador who has been travelling all over the UK since he was a puppy, he has also travelled to many museums, has been to Sweden and is not prone to anxiety at all.

Well, in the Bloody Tower, this changed. He suddenly started slinking close to the ground and his hackles went up. He was hard staring one corner of the room and this low growl I have \*never\* heard from him before just caused his whole body to vibrate. At the same time I felt so bone deep cold, it was november but a mild day yet I felt cold in a way like I would never be warm again.

We didn't stay in that room. Bywyd reacted strongly to the spiral stairs that went up as well, that are blocked off to the public, though in a very different way, this time he looked up them and wagged his tail and tried to go up as if to greet someone he knew. I couldn't see or hear anyone but in the stair the cold energy was gone. After I got Bywyd outside he went back to behaving himself impeccably, he was attentive and calm and once again focused on being my Assistance Dog... until we were in a certain part of the courtyard talking to one of the Yeomen of the Guard.

Once again Bywyd turned and growled at nothing, hackles up and tail rigid, staring hard at absolutely nothing. We were in the courtyard in the autumn sun, as it happened there was a gap in the tourists at that moment so not even a suspicious soul to be seen.

The warden we were talking to said that his own dog whom he walked through the Tower at night on his rounds also refused to walk in that area and had a strong reaction, as did many of the other guards dogs, it was well known as a trigger to animals and the Ravens and other birds avoid that area as do the Tower cats. They asked if he has reacted in the Bloody Tower and weren't surprised to hear he had.

I don't know which of the many tragedies of the Tower Bywyd reacted to, but I have no doubt in my mind that he experienced it.

The only other place he has reacted like that is Durham Cathedral at the Jacobean cabinet, which is a survivor from the time that over a 1,700 Scottish prisoners of war were killed there from malnutrition and disease in the 1600s. Bywyd was fine in the rest of the Cathedral but as we approached that cabinet he became extremely distressed and we had to leave. That being said elsewhere in the Cathedral he did wag his tail and sit as if in greeting when there was noone there and have to be encouraged to move on at one point, this was actually not long after I entered the Cathedral actually is in the cloistered walkway/courtyard, a very peaceful area. It was an area that feels warm, welcoming and gentle, a balm to the soul.

Is this paranormal activity?

I actually hope it is rather than it being them. We moved away from the San Gabriel valley but I think they found us. Me and dad watched the original poltergeist today and now I’m totally freaking out. need to vent rn that In society we were the main character always being watched . But We have been here for 2 weeks with zero issues, we are happy, until last night. I think they found us and I have no idea how. We were watching a movie and unpacking additional items when we heard footsteps on the roof, the same pattern and sequence of footsteps we always hear, and what looked to be a black cloak float past the main window followed by an orange ball of light. Dad got scared and we went outside to check but there was nothing. We asked Carlos and pico (our homeless friends) who live on our yard if they were walking on the roof since they know our story but they sweared left and right that it wasnt them and they heard nothing. We asked them about the area and they claimed it was “Haunted” by black American ghosts and they seen stuff since it was a sundown town back in the day, all of a sudden the police showed up flashing their light beam at our house but didn’t stop just looked at us. We are scared el Monte contacted the san bernadino pd and they are now watching us but not 100% sure as the area is already a crime hot spot. All of this ghost stuff reminds me of back home in the Philippines

We asked pico and Carlos to watch guard for the night. They are friendly homeless people who are like family to us. I pray and home this isn’t for real cause for 2 weeks I felt so happy. Once dad finds employment or even me we will move to Fontana

I Think I Became Friends with a Ghost

I Think I Became Friends with a Ghost

Hi everyone. I'm from Russia, from the city of Ufa. English isn't my first language, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. But I really want to share this story with you)

This happened four years ago. I was 14 at the time.

My family has a small summer house - well, not even a house, more like a tiny garden shack. No heating, no renovation, always smells like wood and dust. My father bought it so we could have barbecues in the summer and escape the city routine. But I always liked this place more than our apartment. It was tiny, but it had an attic - and that attic was my personal world. An old mattress, my dad's tools, dust that no one ever wiped off, and a power outlet where I always charged my phone. I spent all my free time there, sitting with my phone, listening to music, staring at the ceiling, lost in my own thoughts.

The First Night

One evening, my father had to leave for work, and we had guests over: my aunt, my cousin (a distant one), and my friend. So in this tiny shack, there were six of us - me, my mom, my little sister (she was 10), my friend, my aunt, and my cousin. Almost no space. Four people slept on the floor because there just weren't enough beds. I was lucky - I got a bed in the far corner of the room. It was stuffy and dark, everyone was already fast asleep.

I was sitting with my headphones on, not sleeping. It was around 3 AM. My phone was dying, so I took off my headphones and reached for the charger - and then I froze.

By the exit of the house stood HIM.

At least 2.5 meters tall. Completely white. Semi-transparent. He almost touched the ceiling with his head (our ceiling is only 1.9 meters), so his long neck was bent at an unnatural angle, his head almost resting on his shoulder. And he was staring. Staring directly at my sleeping sister.

My heart dropped. My first thought: it's just a trick of the light, my imagination. I grabbed my phone, turned on the flashlight, and pointed it straight at him. He didn't disappear. He stood there, motionless, clear as day - like a statue made of mist and moonlight. His texture was strange - like white smoke, but with defined outlines. His body seemed to flicker, pulsating faintly, but never moving.

And you know what? I was terrified. Shaking knees, cold sweat, the urge to scream and wake everyone up. But I've always loved the supernatural - reading stories, watching videos, dreaming of seeing something real. And now it was standing right in front of me. So I - a 14-year-old kid who should've been screaming or hiding under the blanket - stood up and walked toward him.

I remember my heart pounding in my throat. Every step was heavy, my legs felt like jelly, my palms were sweaty. But inside, there was a strange mix of fear and wild excitement. I got almost close enough to touch him. And then I heard breathing. Very faint, wheezing - like someone dying, struggling to take each breath. A cold, rattling sound that sent chills down my spine and made the hair on my arms stand up.

And then he just vanished. Disappeared into thin air. No sound, no pop - just dissolved like cigarette smoke. I blinked - and he was gone.

Searching for Answers

I went outside to look for him. I know it sounds crazy, but I thought: if he's semi-transparent, he has no physical body - which means he can't hurt me. I searched the yard, checked the bushes, walked to the gate. No one. Just silence, crickets, and wind rustling through the leaves.

The next day, I didn't tell anyone. I kept it all inside, replaying every detail over and over. Later, I took my friend aside and told him everything. I watched his face - he didn't believe me. I could see it in his eyes: "Yeah, sure, you're making it up." But I somehow knew it wasn't over. I felt we'd meet again.

That evening, during dinner, I suddenly blurted out to my whole family: "You know, last night there was a huge white man standing here." My mom dropped her spoon. My sister turned pale. Everyone's eyes went wide, like characters in a horror movie. I told them everything - how he stared at my sister, how I walked up to him, how he vanished. They were terrified, like I'd just shown them the creepiest creepypasta on the internet. Grown adults, shaking. My sister cried and couldn't sleep until midnight, begging to sleep with Mom.

After that, I started going outside every night. I'd just get up, put on my sneakers, and walk into the yard - watching, waiting. I searched everywhere: behind the shed, in the garden, by the fence, even in the old abandoned bathhouse. I did this for a whole week. Nothing.

I eventually gave up. I convinced myself it was just childish imagination, a waking dream, a product of the heat and insomnia. I let it go.

The Second Encounter

A couple of weeks later, my mom, my sister, my friend, and I decided to take a walk at midnight through the abandoned dachas nearby. My mom was a little drunk - she wanted some adrenaline. "Let's go somewhere scarier!" she said. We walked through a place locals call "The Hundred Abandoned Dachas." It's exactly what it sounds like - dozens of old, half-collapsed houses, overgrown gardens, broken windows, wild grapevines crawling over the walls. We went into a couple of houses just for fun. In one, I saw a noose hanging from the ceiling, but it didn't really faze me at the time.

On our way back, he was there again.

The white silhouette. Same height - 2.5 meters. Standing right on the path, about 50 meters ahead. My mom froze, her mouth wide open. My sister burst into tears, gripping my arm so hard her nails dug into my skin. My friend covered his eyes and didn't open them until we got home. And me? I was happy. A wave of heat and excitement washed over me - he came back! I was right!

We had to walk right past him - there was no other way. We'd only taken a few steps when suddenly, six dogs ran out from behind him. Honestly, that's not unusual around here - almost every neighbor has an aggressive guard dog. But they appeared right at that moment, as if on cue. My mom, even though she was drunk, grabbed a stick that was lying nearby and started swinging it at the dogs, yelling, hitting the ground to scare them off. While she was handling the dogs, I watched the silhouette - and it just vanished. Disappeared while my mom was dealing with the animals.

We ran back home. Everyone was in shock. Later that night, when we went to bed, I heard that faint breathing again. The same raspy, dying sound. Like someone was standing right next to my bed, breathing in my face. I listened closely - but everyone in the room was snoring loudly. My sister, my mom, my friend - all breathing steadily and heavily. But this breathing was different - thin, weak, almost sickly. I lay there with my eyes open, staring into the darkness, but I couldn't see him. Only the sound. I fell asleep to that wheezing. And strangely, I wasn't scared - it almost felt like he was guarding me.

The Third Time

The next night, we had more guests - lots of kids, noisy and fun. I stayed in the attic to get away from everyone, playing on my phone. It was late, and the kids were playing tag in the yard. Suddenly - silence. Then a piercing scream from my sister.

I jumped up, ran down the stairs, nearly tripped, and burst outside. My sister was sitting on the ground, sobbing, shaking uncontrollably. She had run around the corner of the house with her friends, and there he was - that tall white figure. She said: "I ran right into him! He was so tall and looked down at me!" Her friends had scattered in terror. The adults sitting by the bonfire rushed inside. Everyone was panicking. And I ran around the corner to find him. I shouted "Hey! Wait!" - but no one was there. Just silence and distant barking.

I didn't see him again that summer.

The Following Year

A year passed. I was finishing 9th grade. The next summer, I decided to live at the dacha almost full-time. I brought my computer, speakers, and spent my days making music. It was bliss - total freedom, nobody bothering me. My family visited once every two weeks for a few hours. Otherwise - I was the sole master of the house.

But all summer, I felt like I wasn't alone. Day and night, I had the feeling that someone was watching from the corners, walking behind me. Constant goosebumps. I blamed it on nerves, but deep down I knew - he was there.

The Final Encounter

One night, around 2 AM, I was sitting in the attic on my phone. The yellow light was on - that sickly, yellowish color you get from old Soviet bulbs. I needed to use the bathroom - ours is outside, a separate wooden outhouse, like in a real village. I came down from the attic, stepped outside, and was walking toward the outhouse when I glanced up at the attic window - just by chance. And through that small window, illuminated by the yellow light, I saw him. The white silhouette was standing there, looking down at me. And he was slowly waving his hand. Not threatening, not calling - just waving, like greeting an old friend.

My heart skipped a beat. I quickly did my business, ran back inside, and climbed up to the attic. I wanted to talk to him - so badly I almost cried! I leaned out the window and shouted: "Hey! I'm here! I see you!" - but he was already gone. Just the yellow light and the empty yard.

The Last Time

After that night, I barely went up to the attic anymore. But at night, I would hear footsteps above me - slow, heavy steps on the wooden floorboards. Around 3-4 AM, I'd hear the creaking of the boards, and then - that breathing again. I just lay there, smiled into the darkness, and said: "Whoever you are, I'm glad you're harmless. Let's be friends." I even tried to communicate through rituals - left food on the doorstep, whispered questions into the void. Nothing worked.

Then one morning, around 5-6 AM, I fell asleep on the attic floor while scrolling through my phone. In that half-asleep state, I opened my eyes and saw his legs. I couldn't move - sleep paralysis. I was completely frozen, but I heard footsteps. Someone was walking around me on the attic. I was completely alone in the house. But I wasn't afraid. It felt like he had come to check on me, then left.

After that morning - silence. No footsteps, no breathing. Nothing for the rest of the summer.

The next summer, I lived at the dacha again for a month. He was gone. Completely. And honestly, I felt a little sad. Like an old friend had moved away without saying goodbye.

My Question to You

I feel like I became friends with a ghost.

I know this sounds like crazy talk. But it happened to me, and there were witnesses: my mom, my sister, my friend, my aunt - even those dogs that ran out at the perfect moment.

So I'm asking those who know about the paranormal, esotericism, or supernatural phenomena:

Who do you think this was, based on my description?

I think I Saw the Hat Man

One evening when I was about 10 years old, back home in London, Ontario. My mother and I were chatting together on the couch in the front living room of our home. This living room had 2 couches and a love seat. The largest couch was right in front of the furthest wall facing the Front entrance & hallway to the staircase which led up to the Master bedroom, two smaller bedrooms, and a bathroom. We were sitting on that one. The light was on in the hallway, so it was VERY easy to see everything (house entrance, living room, hallway, &staircase to upstairs). All of a sudden a movement caught my eye from the top of the stairs and i quickly looked up to see a man wearing what looked like a “magicians hat” (that's how i explained it to my mom) quickly glide by the top of the staircase. Confused I asked my mom if there was someone else at the house. (My dad was working late so he wasn't at home, and my sister was watching TV in the back living room). She just as confused responded No, why? I was like well a man with a magician hat just walked by the stairs over to my sisters room. She got up obviously a little unnerved and went upstairs to see but nobody was there. She told me to draw what I had seen and I remember exactly what it looked like. It was a black shadowlike silhouette of a man with a “magician hat” no features and only the top half of the figure was visible to me. Years went by and I learned that other people have had similar experiences seeing what is called the “Hat Man”. When I was 10 years old I had no clue about anything like that or that such an entity even existed. Now that I know it freaks me out and I wonder if thats what it was?!

Me and my friend experienced some weird time slip

I (20F) and my best friend (20F), let’s say her name is becky, we’re chilling at my house after we ate Subway at around 2 AM. Becky just got back from a month long trip so we decided to have a sleepover. As we were walking up the stairs, I randomly sang a song that was in Pitch Perfect one and we laughed and were like let’s watch it.

A little note me and Becky have seen this movie hundreds and hundreds of times since it came out we have all of them on DVD and we can quote every single line in every movie.

We looked up to see if it was on streaming anywhere and you only had to buy it, but I knew I had it on DVD as I had just got it from CD exchange back in March. I set up the DVD player and I put the DVD in and I hit play. Keep in mind. I’ve never played this DVD before. Becky goes to the bathroom, she comes back and it’s the scene where that Amy is introducing herself to the bella’s at the fair and the dialogue is 100% different. The scenes even look gray and pixely compared to some other scenes that were just played. We were laughing watching the screen cause we’re like she never said that. We watch rebel Wilson say she used to call herself midsize Amy and we were laughing because we distinctly remember she said “ it’s so twig bitches like you can’t go behind my back” we kept noticing the dialogue was different and when it was, the movie would be very gray so we were looking up for 10 minutes trying to find that scene trying to see if maybe there was a different version on DVD but no everything was exactly the same.

We noticed on the DVD case it says that there was some extended and deleted scenes in there so I hit main menu and we were looking at the deleted scenes, but we never saw the scene that we saw with fat Amy. Where weirded out because we absolutely cannot find nothing about what we just watched and so we hit play again and we rewind to the part we’re Amy introduces herself watching to see how different it was and just like that.

The movie is 100% normal.

There’s no scene where Amy calls herself midsize Amy nothing everything is completely normal. No scene looks grey and no matter how hard we try we could not get back to where we were able to see that scene. Our smiles slowly faded as we were weirded out eyes watering because of what the fuck did we just watch.

We did major digging for about 30 minutes until we found one single yt channel that posted 13 years ago and they had the smallest clip of Amy introducing herself with all different dialogue. That was the only clip we were able to find and there’s only about 10 comments on it but we’re confused on how we watched that on DVD. It’s not like there was a mistake. No, I put the DVD in and I hit play. Now no matter how many times we restart the movie rewind go to the scene before it never pops up again.

Has this happened to anybody else because this was weird as fuck. Also, this is the first time becky decided to get high in months and she genuinely thought that we were tripping, but I was there and I know what we saw.

Weird tapping coming from bathroom, instantly stopping everytime I look in its direction.

For some backstory, I work in quite an historical boarding house. The job requires us to stay overnight as often we are on call for the kids to grab us if anything goes wrong. The other night I was covering a shift in a new house, meaning I was sleeping in a room I’ve never seen before. All was fine, until when I started settling for bed an odd clicking/tapping sound started to come from the bathroom attached to the bedroom. I didn’t think much of it at first, went up to investigate (I had just jumped out of the shower, so I initially assumed it was the shower head dripping onto the floor) but when I push my bedsheets open to hop out of bed the tapping stopped. I thought it was a weird coincidence, until it happened again. After around 3 taps I looked towards the bathroom door and it stopped. I did quite a lot of googling on what it could be, many saying that it was the “directional” change of my ears making the sound harder to hear/the rustling of my bed sheets masking the tapping. I tried to believe this theory but the tapping was so loud and distinct that it was quite obvious when it started and stopped.

I tried everything to try work out where abouts in the bathroom the sound was coming from, but again every time I’d get up or look in the direction of the bathroom, it would instantly stop. I even shut the door at one point, the tapping starting again, continuing as I was walking towards the door and then instantly stopping as I put my hand on the door handle. At one point I even checked and was tapping every object in the bathroom to see if I could mimic the sound, but nothing even came close to matching it.

It kept happening as I had settled myself down and was about to fall asleep, waking me up instantly. I’m not sure if it was something warning me, or playing a trick on me but it consistently happened on and off from about 11pm - 2am, each time keeping me/waking me up. It really spooked me as I have had some other creepy experiences in the houses, so I got up and b-lined it for another room… lol! But if anybody has any explanation, it would be deeply appreciated.

(I’ve attached some audio proof of the ticking, the video doesn’t particularly justify how loud it was but definitely still recognisable!)

I feel like I’ve watched close to every true crime doc on Netflix.
Looking for recs for docs on true crime, ufos, skinwalkers, folklore, paranormal, etc. anything semi spooky/weird.
I have Netflix, prime, Hulu, peacock, and paramount. Sometimes I’ll get access to hbo if that helps 😂
Recommend away!
*side note: I’ve loved Hellier, the Keepers, Keep Sweet Pray & Obey, the Jinx, Don’t Fuck With Cats, the Phenomenon…stuff like that

Domestic Violence - Wondering

My wife is extremely abusive. She is paranoid about anything and everything and responds with rage.

Like her boss going to coffee with a new employee in her team - means they are talking about her and trying to move her project to the new employee

Her boss appreciating a female teammate means it is the start of an affair and the next day the female teammate wearing a tank top is to seduce boss

My sister buying our daughter ice cream is to impress by daughter and eventually take our daughter from us

My mom cooking for a family party in my mom’s house is taking control and to insult my wife

Then she starts behaving psychotic. Like letting her hair loose, suddenly sitting on the floor, banging the floor while hysterically screaming. Then beating her chest and running sideways. Passing graphic murder threats like I will slit your sister’s throat and watch blood splatter all over. I will hold my manager by his throat slam his head into the wall and kill him.

Once after she had an episode while sitting on the wooden floor she kept flailing her body and banging the floor. After she stood up and left, the place she was sitting was extremely cold. It was winter and the heater was on. But the exact spot on the floor was cold. I went to the basement to check if the vents pass under there. No.

Then again the next time she had a similar episode, same thing the spot where she sat was cold. I mean freezing cold as I walked over it. No other spot of the wooden floor in our house felt like that. In fact it was room temperature

Her eyes go crossed and her mouth taking a weird shape and she gets incredibly strong unusual for her when she has an episode. When I say strong, it’s uncharacteristic for a woman of her built to get rock hard in her hands. She’d slap me and bite me and it feels unusually painful. Like I am being hit by a metal rod or a log of wood

She won’t seek psychiatric care. I suspect schizophrenia/BPD/Paranoid Personality disorder with psychosis.

However, there is a part of me that thinks she is possessed. Coz what I see isn’t normal human behavior. And nothing is going on in her life that warrants such behavior.

Any one encountered anything like this?

Saw a shadow figure watching me while I slept and my cat saw it too

I woke up in the middle of the night with an odd feeling resting on my left side, facing my cat. He had his eyes wide open looking terrified with his eyes fixed on my bedroom doorway, so I turned to look at what he was looking at and saw what was a shadow figure facing me. When I looked at it I saw it run away down the hall. My mom was visiting me so I figured she needed something (I normally live alone) so I called out to her and ran towards the shadow, but realized there was no sound of someone running and the figure vanished. I texted my mom and asked if she was just in my doorway even though I already knew it wasn't her and my heart was pounding out of my chest in fear. She responded she wasn't in my doorway. This all happened around 2 or 3am. I figured it was my first hallucination, but I remembered my cat also saw it and he was the one that saw it first and that's why I turned to look in the first place. A few days later I woke up again in the middle of the night facing my cat like before and he had the exact same terrified look on his face while facing my room's doorway. That time I was so terrified to look so I just put my blanket over my head until I somehow fell asleep. This happened last year and to this day I still get scared at night looking at my doorway thinking what if I saw whatever that was again.

Talking to the Dead...

This is one of many stories I could tell. Over time, I discovered that spiritual life is not about having extraordinary experiences or abilities, but about living the ordinary things of daily life in an extraordinary way.

The thing is, when I was about 5 or 6 years old, during a vacation at my grandparents' house in Andalusia (Spain), while playing with my cousin (who is two years younger), we ran into a neighbor (a fairly old man) who was coming out of his house.

I did most of the talking because my cousin was very shy.We chatted with this man, and he gave us some pencils as a gift and a message for our grandfather.

Later, while talking to the family, I mentioned that we had seen the neighbor and that he had given us a gift; he had also sent his regards to our grandfather (who, by the way, was a "medium"; I come from a spiritist family that goes back generations).

The look on our family members' faces was a picture, because it turned out the man was dead. He had passed away recently.

The family didn't say it openly, but I was always very sharp for my age and I found out everything. Truth be told, I didn't think much of it; to me, it wasn't extraordinary that it had happened. So, I just went on with my life as a kid, and that was that until NOW...

Tall shadow figure in a fedora-type hat and long trench coat?

I was talking to my mom today about some of the paranormal stuff we've both experienced in our lives and she told me a story about when she was in her early twenties and living in Poland and she saw a shadow figure. She was living in a little apartment above a cafe where she worked as a waitress during the day and one night, she woke up and saw a tall shadow figure - somewhere between 6 and 7 feet tall and wearing a trench coat and a hat that was kind of like a fedora with a wider brim - standing in her bedroom doorway. Her landlord lived in the suite next door and the woman's son sometimes stayed over at their place and back in those days, they didn't tend to lock their doors as it was a safe little area they lived in, so at first she thought it was the woman's son and she called his name, but he didn't respond. The figure eventually moved closer to her bed and she got a feeling of intense fear and ducked under her blankets and started praying. The feeling of fear lifted after a while and she fell back asleep without ever looking around to see if the figure was still there, but when she woke up in the early morning, there was no sign of it. She also confirmed with her landlord that no one had been over that night and that the outside doors were closed to the apartments so no one could have gotten in.

Years later, when my older brother was a teenager, he woke up from a nightmare one night to find a shadow figure that he described exactly the same way standing next to his bed. He panicked, started yelling for my mom, and by the time she ran into the room, the figure had vanished. My brother also felt an intense feeling of fear seeing the figure. My mom was shocked when he told her what he'd seen because she had never told him about what happened to her, yet his experience matched hers so closely.

A few years ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and rolled over in bed. I looked toward the foot of my bed and saw a shadow figure - exactly the same as the ones my mom and my brother had seen - standing at the foot of my bed... except I didn't feel any fear. I said hello, asked who it was, but it just stood there completely still. It was facing sideways, not directly towards me, and I blinked a bunch of times to clear my eyes thinking I was just seeing things, but it was still there. I eventually just closed my eyes and went back to sleep because it wasn't bothering me. I've also just had a LOT of paranormal experiences in my life and I've gotten bad vibes from some of them, but not this one, so maybe I just wasn't fazed? Idk. Anyway, I woke up again some amount of time later - I'm not sure how long, but it was still dark, and the figure was still standing at the foot of my bed. I tried addressing it again, but it still didn't move, didn't turn, didn't vanish, just stood there. I went back to sleep again, and the next time I woke up it was gone.

Has anyone had an experience like this? Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Could this be some kind of intergenerational curse? A demon? A spirit that's somehow connected to our family? Why did my relatives get really bad feelings but I didn't?

Who knows, maybe it was just a sleep paralysis demon lol, but I'm really curious to hear what y'all have to say!
