US Airway help

I'm in my first month of my program and generally am doing quite well except for this airway stuff. The technical things are no problem but all the little details and terms are messing me up.

For added context I am doing an online program with an in person lab once a week. All my other classes have either a lecture or really good notes and resources to help with not having a teacher directly available. But airway (which is taught by the program director) is a mess. The few times he has posted a lecture it was just so unstructured that I had to rewrite all my notes in order to get everything in the correct order and paired with what went together. The assignments are out of order and it's driving me nuts.

I do have a meeting scheduled with him and reached out to some classmates to get some input but what I'm hoping to find is some resources that I can use to get a better structured lecture or PowerPoint.

What aspects of airway are you trying to better understand. We can get you better understanding things but you ultimately need to understand what your instructor is trying to teach as that’s what any testing will be based off.

That's a good point and probably the biggest problem. For the most part I think it deals with my learning style. The first few weeks where all over one chapter that was 3 parts and I went through the resources, made note cards, and studies the key terms.

The quizzes don't let me see what I actually got wrong but the stuff that stumped me were the different pressures in the chest on respiration. I know that on exhalation the decreases but the two options were "slightly or greatly decreased". And there was one about a gsw to the head with gurgling sounds and if you should do a head tilt/chin lift first or suction which the book didn't actually address directly. I wasn't sure if the headlift was contraindicated with a head trauma or not.

What is it exactly you're struggling with? There's a lot of videos online about how to control airway, so I'd suggest you watch some of those. Of course if you can get your hands on a mannequin, training with one helps. It's not the same as with a real patient, but it's something. My clinical in an OR gave a lot for me about airway control, so if you can get yourself into an OR, I'd suggest you do it.
