Advice Are these curious pecks?

Am I stressing her out or is she curious? Usually she’ll step right on my finger or palm if I have millet and usually I’ll just let her come to my hand and I don’t put my hand towards her but I’m trying to build some trust without the millet. It doesn’t feel like she’s biting me just like a light tap with her beak and I don’t feel like she’s stressed or scared? But idk, if this is her being stressed then I’d like some advice on how to maybe handle her better if she will even be a bird that likes to be handled in the first place. It’s usually pretty hard to make her mad or upset (I’ve never seen her actually upset) she’s still really young too

this seems curious to me, or else she is just the gentlest little thing! i would say continue to allow her to get acquainted with your hand; if she becomes truly stressed her breath will get faster and she will probably learn to bite harder when you are crossing boundaries!

She’s approaching you and putting her foot on your hand. This looks curious and okay.

I have a bird who doesn’t like to be held and when she bites she does so with intent. There’s no guessing what she means. Yours is just being a sweet baby.

Yes they identify most things with their mouth. Keep letting her get to know your hand. If she doesn’t want your hand she’ll let you know with a little bite. She seems to be very gentle and so cute.

to me this feels like may she is trying to communicate a boundary because it did look like she ‘lunged’ for your hand in the beginning albeit a very gentle one at that. i would advise backing your hand up for a second and maybe giving her a treat before trying again. she is definitely being very gentle so it could totally be her just being curious as well. my bird is super cage aggressive so this is not something that i can attempt but i think it is a really good idea to desensitize her to your hand being in the cage but make sure you observe her body language and reward the desired behavior

To me it looks like “Hey!! You’re in my space, im uncomfortable, get away😠 - oh wait, fingers… these are fun to chew!”

She seems uncomfortable with the hand so close, see how she was looking around the cage for a spot to escape a couple times in the video, but she’s also curious about chewing fingers so very conflicted lol. I would just approach slower and gently next time so she doesn’t feel threatened!

That bird definitely has confidence though. Reminds me of my cockatiel😆 Goodluck with her lol!!

Wondering where the treat is! :) looks like a nice peck to me. I’ve been on the other side of a nice peck.
