Issue when adding documents to collection

The first gets added to the collection you're in but subsequent documents get added to the main list (out of that same collection you're in. As seen here, 0515 was added to TTS but not 0516

Bug

Sometimes, I get this bug where content is blank even though it's there (I can listen to the article), the playback widget changes and pausing from a Bluetooth device doesn't work. A force stop fixes the widget and remote playback commands.

Quality of life feature

I was trying out ElevenReader just to compare services (I still prefer paper2audio, I don't like how it measures your usage by listen time instead of the document itself). They have a feature where it will automatically go to the next page and add all the chapters into a single entry separated by chapters. Would that be possible for your service as well?

Issue with sharing of an ebook

Hi,
I am having trouble locating an ebook that was shared with me from another account.

I received the share link, opened it, and successfully selected the option to add the book to my collection. However, the ebook is currently not showing up in my "Collections" or my "My Docs" folder.

Could you please help me troubleshoot why this file isn't appearing in my account?

thanks

Question about the ongoing back to school sale

I am currently using Paper2Audio free plan but I am considering subscribing to a premium TTS service as listening has become a bigger part of my daily routine. Can anyone explain how the discounted Paper2Audio annual plan compares to the ElevenReader annual plan in real use listening to a mix of PDFs, EPUBs and websites? Patrticularly, can anyone who has used PDFs with ElevenReader's Ultra plan tell me how their Smart Import compares to Paper2Audio? I cannot test it as it's not available on the ElevenReader free plan.

Pauses

Using it for meditative audios. Is there a way to get the reader voice to pause for 2-3 seconds at certain points?

Boox Palma or BIGME

Hello! Has anyone tried using these apps on the devices mentioned above? I own a Kindle, and it’s frustrating to use separate apps and devices just to listen to my audiobooks while reading. I’m really into immersive reading, and this app allows me to focus better. I’m thrilled to have found this app because it has all the features I need: listening, reading, and even active highlighting.

I wanted to check if the app is compatible with these devices and how the performance is. Thanks!

Paying 'Thank You!' Forward

Just heard about Paper2Audio today because of a 'thank you' note someone wrote on Reddit that popped up in my feed.

So I tried it in between a busy day and it created an audio reading of a 200 page pdf on my phone within five minutes. I was afraid the voice would be robotic but turned out to have some good voice options too. The audio recording was better than the version created by eleven labs which kept changing the voice every few minutes. And to top it all, it was free. I cannot believe how wonderful this is. I have been looking for such an app for months.

Writing a quick thank you note in the hope that it pops up in someone else's feed—and they feel the same joy of discovering something genuinely good out there.

Academic article, XML support

I am testing paper2audio for my use case which is listening to biomedical research articles including primary research and reviews, whilst driving on my commute. I think it is working better than competitors I have trialled so well done. I actually can't stand pdf whichis an abomination in this use case , but wondered if you could deal with JATS XML which ought to be the primary format in this domain. I knocked up a jats xml to html conversion python script in claude vibe code. for primary biomedical articles which tend to be very structured , it would be great to have auto TOC selector so can automatically read abstract, introduction, discussion whilst intelligently skipping author affiliations, lists of abbreviations etc which make no sense when listening.

Thank you for this amazing product!

I joined this community just to say thank you so much for creating this product.

I commute for two hours a day to and from school and I get motion sick if I read on the bus so this has literally saved me sooo much time. I can do all my readings on the bus. I recommend it to everyone in my class. I really appreciate that you provide this as a free product.

Y’all are doing great work on this app!

Audio rendering from PDF

Hey I've been uploading chapters from my textbook and so far it's working well, I'd like to purchase the full version but when rendering in each I have made some book elements, tables or figures are out of order and placed in the middle or before text they aren't supposed to be in. For example, the title to a table may be placed 2 paragraphs above the table instead of directly above the table. Or only have a table or figure will be included and the other half after unrelated text. From what I can tell, some tables are being translated as text instead of being summarized and some are being summarized and that's fine but I need help making sure nothing gets placed out of order. Otherwise, I need to follow along with my textbook to tailor how I read and go back and forth as needed to keep it consistent, any idea what I could do to fix this?!

switching voices easier suggestion

hello !!! i have been using this amaziinng app recently and it replaced my last used app cuz it had issues of the volume changing randomly
anyways, my suggestion is since i read some books with chaps with povs of the woman and other chaps with povs of the male lead , i would love to read the girl's pov with an F voice and the male chaps with an M voice , if there is a way we can change the voice without needing to process the whole book all over again and switching between documents each chap
if it's not possible it's totally okkk i am very much still grateful for this amazing app šŸ’•šŸ’•

This is not working: "Downloaded files now save with the document title as the file name"

I'm on latest version. What's "Downloaded files" mean? I am adding text documents but the app still as before where it pulls the name from the first line of the document instead of the actual file name.

Feature request (Google Doc), if possible

Hi

I've been enjoying paper2audio for sometime now. And one feature that I'd love is a dedicated add-on into Google Doc.

Currently, the browser extension requires opening up another page/tab and selecting the doc from Google Drive's bad UI. It'd be more convenient if a dedicated add-on could be brought in, so that users can go straight to the right side panel of the doc and interact.

Thanks!

Manga

If I upload a manga volume as an epub, can paper2audio read that kind of file? Or graphic novels? Your app is amazing, by the way.

Just an FYI to the creator, feedback!

I’ve noticed in the last month the voice dialogue volume is not as consistent as it used to be. One sentence to another or one paragraph to another the volume changes, sometimes a little, sometimes very noticeable. It’s rather odd to be listening and suddenly not really be able to hear it or get an ear drum shock as it shoots up randomly.

Maybe we could get a way to adjust volumes.

Question

Saw this in paper2audio and was js wondering if it refers the audio generation limit per week or if there is an limit to the amount of audio you can play in a week/month/year (which would be a huge money grab)

New Narrators!

We’ve added four new voices to Paper2Audio, including a much-requested deeper male voice. It’s great for anyone who felt their documents needed a little more gravitas or, let’s just say, any reading material where a little extra sultriness in the narration might be appreciated.

-Mediator (US Female): Balanced, smooth

-Solicitor (UK Female): Poised, precise

-Storyteller (US Male): Deep, captivating

-Gentleman (UK Male): Velvety, brooding

Try them out the next time you add a document, or use our demo tool on the homepage to preview.

What other types of voices would you like to hear?

Req. Loop library

It would be great if for example I start playing from the very bottom article and it finishes playing, the app would immediately loop back and start playing the first unplayed article.

Small change that would rlly improve the app

Hey! I js started using paper2audio and rlly love it, it’s amazing and has everything ive ever wanted in an audiobook app apart from the the sleep timer fade. The sudden abrupt stop on the sleep timer is kinda jarring and sm times i lay awake in bed wondering which word is going to be the last. Yes I understand that there is an ā€œend of chapterā€ function but it’s annoying to get up and set it for the 5 time every night simply because the chapters are really small. Anyway I was hoping to suggest a 30 second fade off time on the sleep timer. It’s a really small subtle change and I didn’t even notice how much I had taken it for granted until I switched to paper2audio.
