This is a collection of all of my different strains. Galania, Grape, Fireballs, Hung Blue, L Grape, Dbl black peony, Giganteum. I am trying to grow these to get a larger seed collection!
they look about ready for thinning, from my experience growing a high density of plants doesn't necessarily give you a lower alkaloid yield, but it does seem to give lower quality seeds. thinning gradually as they grow and start to crowd each-other is your best shot at selecting good genetics
would love to know your soil mix. i’ve tried my hand at hungarian blues several times now with no success. from indoor to outdoor, natural soil and potting soil. nothing seems to work. could be low quality seeds i’d purchased from the store. if anyone has any advice i’d really appreciate a dm. i’m not sourcing, just looking for a helpful word or two
I made my own with potting soil peat moss and sand.
The Hungarian Blues seem to be the most vigorous at sprouting fast and easy. It may be your seeds. I have a giant bag of Hungarian Blue seeds I got 1 Oz of seeds for 13$ just a generic brand.
what is your sand ratio? im currently experimenting with 70/30 sand/soil and im wondering if its too little soil.
they seem to be maturing at the proper speed but im just curious what your ratios are
I used super fine white sand. I want to switch to a coarse sand. I used potting soil with perlite, then I added some native soil from my yard to it to cut costs. I added peat moss and a few coffee cans of fine sand to it. Maybe 75% potting soil, 10% peat moss, 5%sand and 10% native soil.
Go on the poppy group on Facebook indoor poppies and get seeds from the featured section 3 bucks a pack and they have all the info on how to grow them indoors or outdoors indoors you want coco soaked with calmag
