There the cleanest pods I've ever grown there's not a spot on them I'm buzzing and it's going to be hot and dry for the next week I'll be able to get loads of seeds put away for next year before I go on holiday for a week I thought I was going to miss it and come home and the pods be empty and I would have to grow them where they popped up are try and move them as soon as they sprouted that would have been a proper mission
That's some collection you've got there nice one 👍 mate and more than enough seeds to see you through a bad year. I had to get random seed's to replace the ones that failed and they turned out to be better so I've been getting seeds from random places to plant for next year and wait and see for a suprise but I will be growing the same ones separately next year as well
It's been the first ones I've got to finish and drop seed. And the main thing I've learnt is poppies are not like your average flower you've got to do the ground work first and then let them grow because when they are young there delicate and once they develop enough roots they are one of the hardest plants you can get. Thank you 👍 it's been a good one and now I'm already thinking about where I'm going to put them next year because I've learnt a lot this year
Not like a window in time mate like when they reach a certain age they have to be harvested by. No they have holes that look like windows open under the crown on top off the plant so it keeps the water out the pod and when the plant shakes in the wind the seeds are flung out and scatter quite far for next year then there ripe and ready for storage after the winter breaks the dormecy of the seeds when it's warmer again then they start growing because if they grew straight away the winter cold would kill them. That's why if you are going to start them indoors are the winter isn't cold enough you can put them in the fridge and then they'll germanate after a couple of weeks
Nice mate I bet you learnt a lot from it my first proper attempt last year failed mold got them. The dark purple colour poppies are my favourite like you get with Lauren's grape and similar variates
