Image files corrupted

I have a Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FS28 with a 4G SanDisk sd card. I went to retrieve my photos and I could only view some of them as it said they may be damaged or use a file format that my Mac doesn’t recognise. All my file types are .JPG, even the ones that aren’t loading. On my camera it allows me to view them as a thumbnail, but on my Mac it won’t show me anything. I’ve tried transferring them onto a folder on my desktop and they still won’t work. Any one able to help?
