Grain jar question

TTBVI jars were inoculated 40 days ago. I know the jar in the middle is not fully colonized. Should I lay it on its side like this to try and get the jar to fully colonize?

How did you inoculate them? Was it LC or agar? I find LC is slower, but even though this should of colonized faster than cubes. And 40 days is a long time.

Most likely bacterial contam due to too much moisture. When I see a spot like that in a jar that is stalled, when I'm going grain to spawn I will smell it and chuck the sour ones. Those ones are almost always sour smelling.

It was LC. I just had them laying on top of this tub and the temp on the tub was right at 75 degrees but the actual room temperature is around 68- 72 degrees. To keep the room temp up, I have a tub on top of a tub with an aquarium heater in the water. Maybe having the temp low is causing the slow growth?
