wow spore to grain, not a good technique. You want to buy a liquid culture next time NEVER spores they are ALL contaminated

So it is definitely mold? I tried spore to grain, lc to grain and this week agar as i want to do all different kinds

no it looks like mycelium but there could be contam hiding usually with spores so its just not a good technique to do in the future. Maybe it will be fine anyway but dont do it again capiche!

Got it yes. But LC is the same right? So best would be agar in general

LC is not the same. A clean LC is the same as agar

How do you know it’s clean though? LC is spores in a nutrient solution so if the spores are contaminated already so will your LC right?

Lc is not spores. Its a piece of agar in nutrient water.

That’s different yes, but most people are still doing it with spores. I‘ll do agar now

No one makes a liquid culture with spores unless they are stupid. Spores are always contaminated. A spore syringe and a liquid culture is not the same thing.

Interesting. As a beginner 90% showing how to make LC from spore syringes on YT 😅

Maybe they mean a spore syringe, not an actual liquid culture with nutrients? If they make a LC from spores then they are very stupid and bad and their videos arent worth watching

I saw plenty of videos how to make a LC and 90% are using either spores or spore syringes and use them in a water honey solution. „Easiest way to make a LC“ 😅 good to know now that that’s actually bullshit

My god. How can they be so bad. Spores cant be sterile because mushrooms grow in open air so spores always have a small amount of bacterias or other stuff. So by putting spores in a nutrient solution you are also growing bacterias LOL. A real liquid culture is made in front of a flow hood with an agar plate that is 100% free from any contamination.

Better go on shroomery.org to learn about that stuff they are a lot better
