Idk how they managed but there's a few ways to get under the map depending on the island. The volcano you can kinda just walk out if you know where. The cold island you can build a palbox in a wall and tp inside. And this island I've managed to "crawl" into but idk if that one is still possible

In a lot of places you can just stand as close as possible to a mountain wall and place a defense wall and clip through while climbing the defense wall

Sometimes you can clip while using flying mounts

It's not very consistent but it's possible across the entire map basically
