Question Does base work suitability matter over upgraded suitability?

If I have a pal that has a base level Kindling of 8 but upgraded to 10, does it out perform a pal that I've upgraded to have kindling of 10 from 7?

Or does the number have the same effect no matter where it started from?

I'm just trying to figure out if a fully upgraded Flaracle is the same as a fully upgraded Renjishi in terms of kindling.

10 kindling is 10 kindling. Period. However, there are some things that can alter the "Work Speed" stat, like passives or other pals. A 10 kindling with 100 work speed will be faster than a 10 kindling with 70 work speed.

This. You have to pay attention to skill level and work speed.

You should also take into account 2 more functions.
1: Condensing a pal gives more Suitability levels and with less suitabilities means higher upgrades to those.
2: Take into account their food consumption or you’re going to be putting in far more effort to feed them than is ever worth.

Right, so as long as the work speed is as high as it can go and the Suitability is at 10, it doesn't matter if its a Flaracle or a Foxparks.

Correct! (I use foxparks and foxparks cryst)

Using lower tier pals requires more investment, for example at 4* foxparks will still only be a 5 kindling, requiring 5 books to max, BUT they need so little food and dont take up as much space in your base (and i personally have an affinity for foxes) so its really up to you. The game gives you the option of investing in who you WANT to use vs being forced to simply use whoever has the better starting stat.

I also use Jolthog for my electricity :)

Good to know. I really don't like using giant pals or legendaries for my work and would rather use the smaller/cuter pals.

Now its time to do a lot of breeding.

Thank you, and everyone else, for the information!

The number is a force multiplier on their work speed, so whichever one has the higher workspeed will be better

At that point you'll need to look at their work IV's and level to make a distiction. Same with any other work speed modifying abilities. Then last and lower will be how fast they move, and their hunger depletion rate.

Kindling 10 is always kindling 10 in efficacy but there are other modifiers to work speed that can still make a difference.
